Pokemon: Bond Evolutions of Pokémon

Chapter 306: 306 and 307. Birds Againsts Birds

Ash then looked at the children that were around them with their hopeful eyes, looking forward to being able to come into contact with the majestic creature that is Pokémon's and experience flying in the air for the first time, well for most of these kids here.

He smiled and turned to his new girlfriend, Winona, "Babe, why don't you let me help you out with this? I'll go and grab my Pidgeot and few others back from the Lab to help you out!"

"Huh? Ash, you have a Pidgeot?" Winona, as a huge Flying-type Pokémon enthusiast, heard that her first boyfriend had a majestic Pokémon like Pidgeot, one of her favorite Pokémon's of all time, and immediately understood where their newfound came from. She nuzzled up to him more and more, "That's so awesome, I have always wanted to train one of them, but I never had the chance as I never found a good one to catch. Maybe you can help me train one up in the future," she said with a sly wink.

Ash simply gave her a kiss and walked towards the Pokémon Center, where he could feel May's Aura was still at.

The two met and May had delightfully enjoyed the face he made when she had told him the contents that she and the others had talked over.

Ash himself was very excited to hear that; he could have Winona without any issues.

One of the gugs that saw Ash and Winona holding hands and kissing also saw that he was now kissing this other beautiful girl.

'Man, what did I do to deserve seeing this again. This guy not only has Gym Leader Winona with him, but also that hot chick. And here I am, can't even get one girl to even notice me… I wanna jump off that place…'

However, it was just him being jealous; no issues will happen as the System had already taken care of that.

Ash then switched out his Dratini, Torkoal, and his newly caught Duskull back to the Lab, and exchanged for his Pidgeot, Shiny Noctowl, and Swellow. He had finally decided to challenge the Fortree City Gym, a Flying-type Gym, with his very own three regional Birds that he had trained throughout his journey.

He was practically a Master at using Flying-type Pokémon's. In fact, some of his strongest Pokémon's were Flying-types.

How can he not use them to have a good aerial battle, like one he had always wanted to? And now especially against his very own girlfriend, Winona.

"Pidgeot, stand by my friend!"

When Ash finally released his majestic and Alpha Pidgeot, Winona was shocked to see him, "Ash, your Pidgeot is the biggest one I have ever seen! It's even bigger than that of my grandmother, and that was her Ace when she was still an Elite 4 member!"

Well that was a big surprise for Ash, he had no clue that there was a previous Flying-type Elite 4 member in the Hoenn Region. And also the fact that she was his new girlfriends grandmother.

Thinking of what Winona said about her grandmothers Ace, Pidgeot, both Ash and his Pidgeot, who was standing proudly next to him, really wanted to fight her.

However, the bad news was that both her grandmother and her Pidgeot had passed away of old age not so long ago.

In the real Pokémon world, depending on the Trainers fighting style and living environment, there could be larger differences in body size compared to the ordinary individuals of their respective species.

The Pokédex that Ash and most are most familiar with was created by a group of researchers led by Professor Oak of Kanto and the other Head Researchers of many other regions after a large amount of data statistics were all put together, but it is obvious that there can be existence that exceeds this number.

In the information that the Pokédex had provided, an average Skarmory's height was about 1.7 meters, which is mainly due to its long neck, while the height of a regular Pidgeot was about 1.5 meters tall.

Pidgeots owned by Trainers and those that are wild are indeed somewhat close to this number.

However, there are also differences to individual members that had great training from their Trainers or are the leaders do their pack.

Winona's Skarmory was a little over 2 meters tall, which was already a remarkable tall figure. However, Ash's Pidgeot was even taller compared to the rest of his own species.

When Ash had first evolved his Pidgeotto into a Pidgeot back in the end of his Kanto Journey, it was only slightly taller than the average height of a Pidgeot.

However, after Ash had defeated him in battle and took him back into his team, Pidgeot had grown to an extremely tall figure of 2.3 meters, about 0.8 meters difference in that time.

And now after he was with Ash and gotten much better training, he had grown even more and was now at an extremely impressive height of 2.5 meters tall.

The children were even more excited and had their eyes open with stars and all got ready to have a ride in this new guy; compared to the cold-feeling that Skarmory gives as a Steel-type Pokémon, the one that looked muck more bigger and majestic definitely had a higher popularity.

"Okay, everyone is free to choose from these two. Those who want to ride on Winona's Skarmory stand in that row, and those who want to ride in my Pidgeot stand in this row!" Ash was afraid of causing even more trouble, so he didn't bring out his Shiny Noctowl or Swellow to officially join the flying experience of the Feather Carnival.

Then, Max was the first to rush to Ash's side, "Big Bro, I wanna go first!"

"Okay, fine, you can go first." Ash quickly used his Psychic to carry Max on top of Pidgeot's back and made sure he was seated safely. He gently patted his loyal companions wings, "Old friend, we can finally fly together again!"

"P DIDDY!"

His Pidgeot was even more excited than Ash had thought was possible. He spread out his huge wings and set off a controlled blast of wind to blast off. He happily flew high with his Trainer on his back.

"Wow, this feels even better that riding in your Noctowl!" Under Ash's Aura protection, Max was eager to be that bold, he evev cheered excitedly in the air and tried to stand up. That was quickly put to rest when Ash grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled his down.

That was a very dumb move, Ash didn't even know what Max was thinking about. Max quickly apologized and they were once again off.

Ash also carried his Pikachu, Ralts, and Togetic with him like always.

Ralts and Pikachu have been occupying his left and right shoulders for a very long time now.

The happiest one was Togetic. She also had the ability to fly, but she was much more slower, so she sat behind Pidgeot's neck, wrapped in soft his feathers. This was the first time she has experienced such speed.

In the future, she will also evolve into a powerful Pokémon with great wings, and maybe she can also learn the Extreme Speed move that Dratini's always uses and gain comparable speed her favorite Pidgeot in the world.

But Ash had already decided to delay the evolution of his Togetic for now. This chaotic little girls evolved form, Togekiss, was a very powerful Pokémon and can also learn various powerful skills, such as Extreme Speed, Aura Sphere, etc.!

So he wanted his Togetic to have a much control of herself before letting her evolve.

"Babe, your Pidgeot is really awesome, I can't wait to have our battle!" Winona barley caught up with her Skarmory when Ash had slowed down, and now there was the little girl in her front.

With her professional eyes for Flying-types, she could very well tell how extraordinary this Pokémon was, and the strong companionship between her boyfriend and it had.

Pidgeot: 240/255

The Feather Carnival came to a successful conclusion with Ash's last moment enthusiastic participation. Not only was it the children, but May also experienced the feeling of flying in the air together with Ash.

They even shared a kiss in the air while Winona made sure the little girl in forms for her didn't see.

She wasn't jealous that Ash and May were together. Instead it would be surprising if they weren't. She had already come to realize and understood that her man had other women, she just felt that it was right. Nothing else.

[Notice! There is no need for you readers to all thank me, but you can if you want!] -System

It is also worth mentioning that the Trio of Team Rocket troublemakers have been quietly following the group. James spent all the money he had saved recently to buy a "Chimecho" that was actually disguised as one. After clearing it up, all he found underneath it was the same green Hoppip he saw so many times before on the Johto Region. He was deceived into this miserable state by the same old guy who had sold him his Magikarp all those years ago in the S.S. Anne.

But still at the end of the day, he finally managed to catch the real Chimecho as he wished for so many years, from his childhood into his adulthood.

"So now, the official Gym Battle between the Fortree Gym Leader Winona and challenger Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town is about to begin! Each Trainer can use only three of their Pokémon's!"

The battle arena for the Fortree City Gym Battle was located high in the blue sky. The challenger need to climb the high steps to get to the relay Gym location on the top of the mountain, this was like a test to see if the challengers were able to push through such a small hardship to chase after their dreams.

There were two tall pillars standing on the dome on the top of the mountain, parallel to each other. This is where the two Trainers are meant to stand.

A helicopter like platform was built on these two pillars. Since this was going to be an aerial battle, after the referee announced the start of the game, Ash and Winona followed the platform to its highest point.

There, it feels like one can actually reach out and touch the white clouds.

"At a height like that, even if the air combat range is expanded, it is easy to confirm the ability of a Pokémon there." Brock detected the pros and cons of fighting there at a glance, but was also being cryptic in the way he stayed it.

"But at that height, strong winds may blow suddenly at any time and change the course of the battle for both sides."

"In this battle, it's not just the Pokémon itself that's fighting out there, it's also a severe test for the Trainers endurance and ability to think in the spot under such extreme circumstances."

Coming here, Winona suddenly knelt down on one knee and said piously, "Great Skydios over our head, please give me the wings of Vic! Give us powerful wings that empowers us to the limit, guide us in the vast blue world! Let us spread our majestic wings under you!"

This was the belief and admiration that Winona and her family had long helps as specialists of the Flying-type Pokémon's.

The Skydios she was talking about was none other than the green serpent himself, Rayquaza.

In this process, Winona's fighting spirit and fighting spirit also burned up, reaching the best conditions she could muster up, "Ash, even though we are together now, don't expect me to go easy on you! I'll do my best like you told me to! Come out, Altaria!"

This was one of the Pokémon that Ash had wanted to catch, mainly due to its ability in Pokémon Contests, but unfortunately he has never been able to meet Swablu that had a good match with him.

This was a dual Flying-type and Dragon-type Pokémon. Just by looking at it, Ash could tell that it is definitely more powerful than the ones he saw with that injured Swablu not too long ago.

"I'm delighted to see you not holding back for me, love! Stand by for battle, Noctowl! Spread your wings and show them what you are made off!" Ash also sent out his first Pokémon after her, which was the Shiny Noctowl he had caught in the Johto Region.

'Love?? What am I missing? When did this even happen?? Why me?' Brock was back to questioning his life and left his heart being crushed. It wasn't until his Spinda came out that he felt some sort of sense of relief.

Noctowl had a very special place in his heart for a reason, and he was ready to show why.

Noctowl: 210/255

The color of Ash's Noctowl was very bright, even compared to when Ash had first caught him almost a year ago. It should be noted that such a shiny color scheme is not a good thing while being out to hunt and avoiding natural enemies, but his Noctowl and always relied on his smart Brian and thrived in the original forest unlike the rest of his darker species.

Perhaps because he was always thinking that he was never good enough for Ash or helping the others enough, his compatibility with Ash has been rising very slowly. Of course, Ash does not insist on this too much, as he knew that it is impossible for him and every one of his Pokémon's to be able to complete their shared Bond Evolutions.

The perfect example of this is his Muk and Kingler. They both love him immensely, however, because of the way they battle, it's much harder than the rest of his Pokémon's to bond.

Ash hoped to use this battle to motivate his Noctowl into believing in himself and showing just how strong he was compared to most people's Pokémon's.

His Noctowl was originally a noticeably size smaller than an ordinary Noctowl, but now with Ash's careful food choices and extensive training, he has now reached the size of an ordinary individual, even surpassing the average by a bit.

"May, that's Big Bros Shiny Owl. It's so beautiful, isn't it? I still remember when I first rode on him." Max shook May's arm excitedly. This was the very same Shing Noctowl that has appeared at the Silver Conference. And more than once had he easily defeated opponents in the earlier rounds, and Max was very impressed from those old recordings of the battles.

"Ash, your Noctowl is also a very strong one!" Winona couldn't help herself praising her boyfriends Pokémon's, he was just good at using Flying-types; the battle between the two lovers started at this very moment.

"Altaria, ride the wind! Use Peck!"

Winona was the first to launch the attack. Altaria's could-like wings are very good at assisting itself to fly upwards or to the sides.

Although Altaria was a Flying-type Pokémon, it actually doesn't have many Flying-type skills it can learn that are good for battles like these.

At an high altitude like this, the power of the wind was much higher than the one on the ground. This obviously changed many things for both sides.

Altaria was using the wind to assist herself very quickly, and she was in front of Noctowl in an instant with the boosted speed.

She extended her neck like a spear and stabbed it towards Noctowl.

Noctowl slightly tilted his head, and his eyes now had a more magically constructed Ann's larger eye emanating a strange blue light.

This was the Psychic-type move Extrasensory, a good one at that.

Altaria was immediately restrained and then pushed violently back out towards the ground.

Winona showed a clear frown when she saw this unexpected blow, because Ash did not give any order, but his Noctowl made the action himself, which made her feel a little more uncomfortable by making anyone of her strategies go straight into the ground, "Altaria, come on, use Dragon Breath!"

The cyan dragon energy attacks Noctowl, then it tilted its head, reaching over 90 degrees.

"Air Slash!"

The powerfula and sharp whirlwind of pure wind energy wrapped around Noctowl's wings, forming a cyclone and meeting head-on with the Dragon Pulse that Altaria had just released.

The Dragon-type energy was torn apart and exploded the moment they had connected.

However, Altaria has a special ability that can transcend even this. Winona ordered, "Altaria, use Sing!"

That was a skill that can put the opponent into the dangerous sleep status condition. The best way is to use a move like Safeguard to deal with it. Just like Togetic, who was staying next to Ash now, waving her hands for moral support along with Ralts and Pikachu, she used her Safeguard move in time to protected Ash and the other two from falling asleep.

But Noctowl does not have this skill!

"Use Psycho Shift!"

This was a skill that can transfer one's own status condition to the opponent, but Noctowl or Ash rarely needed to use it outside of some training scenarios. As a Champion-level Trainer level gets higher and higher, they gradually without realizing just know how to use these auxiliary skills to get the best benefits.

Rather than someone who relies purely on courage and backbone to fight hard, it's better to have some of such moves as a backup in case things go south.

This I'das also the reason why he had started to prioritize catching and better training Psychic and Ghost-type Pokémon's.

All of the smoke cleared up, and Altaria fell asleep with her eyelids closed, trying its best not to completely collapse, and was about to fall from the sky.

"How could it be?" Winona was more than a little shocked, how could Altaria's Sing fall asleep singing herself? Altaria's Sing move was the move that they had practiced on the most, yet now her boyfriend easily found a way around it in an instant.

But it would be too dangerous and bad for her if her Altaria fell directly and get even more unnecessary injuries, so she quickly took out a Poké Ball and took Altaria back inside to rest.

According to the rules of a Gym Challenge, the Gym Leader cannot switch out their Pokémon. Now that Winona has taken her Altaria back, this means that her Altaria has been defeated and has lost the qualification to continue battling Ang longer.

This of course means that Noctowl won this battle without being able to go even half strength like some ago in the Silver Conference in the Johto Region.

"Ash, you are really are someone unfathomable. I am honored to be your lover!" Winona was convinced of Ash's power and couldn't help but blush deeply, "But I will not let you win against me so easily!"

"Come out, Swellow!"

Winona also owned a Swellow of her own, however this one eas also a very eye-catching. It is also a Shiny Pokémon like the Shiny Noctowl Ash is using right now.

It was a paler grey-yellow in color and had a normal body shape. Ash didn't know whether or not it had a special ability like the one his Shiny Noctowl had.

Ash really didn't expect that two Shiny Flying-type Pokémon would appear in a single battle, this had probably never ever happened before.

"Come back, Noctowl!" This time Ash had exchanged for all three of his regional birds, of course this means giving each of them a chance to battle.

"Stand by for battle, Swellow!"

All Ash needed to do now was just to send out his Swellow to fight against his girlfriends Swellow, a very simple matter.

-

Although Ash's own Swellow looked ordinary in color, it is very well trained by him and his body definitely showed that.

It grew up in the hell like training of his own Pidgeot and the rest of his Flying-types, along with some of his Normal-types, and now his strength was very terrifying, definitely even comparable to his Shiny Noctowl in he went all out and did his Bond Evolutions.

"Babe, let's see which one of ours in stronger! Swellow, use Aerial Ace!" Winona took the lead in attacking again.

"It's going to be us that's going to win; use Aerial Ace too!"

This is what real air combat looked like.

Ash's battle auta was finally ignited, and the two Swellows hovered in the air, and then suddenly rushed towards each other in a while blitz.

Just when they were about to collide, they disappeared again at the same time.

They were like two silent swordsmen. The moment they got ready to face each other, they unsheathed their swords, struck each other, sheathed their swords again, and then disappeared along with a silent flash.

Then they somewhat staggered away from each other and returned to back to Ash and Winona's side.

Then, Ash… laughed?

This time, Ash's Swellow had the much upper hand. While they looked to be even, Winona's Shiny Swellow did not even land a hit on his Swellows body while his Swellow had successfully hit multiple times.

Winona naturally detected this as an experienced Gym Leader, because her Shiny Swellow was the second of her strongest Pokémon's, and in terms of training level, it was much higher than the giant Skarmory and Altaria she had.

However, when facing Ash's Swellow, she couldn't get any advantage throughout all of their chances.

Of course she didn't know just how hard it would be land even a few decent hits. Swellow was trained especially trained by Zapdos to dodge attack at a split of a second time.

His Swellow was a Pokémon that even dared to challenge the Legendary Bird of Thunder, Zapdos, as a mere Taillow, not to mention fighting against what he claimed was an unworthy foe.

"Swellow, rise rapidly into the air, then fall rapidly in a spiral! Then use your Hyper Beam!"

Winona finally began to use all of the advantages she had, which was her proficiency in air stations and all of her experiences battling here. She began to direct Swellow to use her air combat skills to its fullest.

After this operation, her Shiny Swellow arrived behind Ash's own Swellow.

As a final evolved Pokémon, it was natural that Swellow could learn how to use Hyper Beam.

As a dual Normal and Flying-type Pokémon, Hyper Beam also gains the bonus power of being from a Pokémon of the same type.

But Ash prefers to use another ultimate move most of the time, the most destructive Flying-type move!

"Brave Bird!"

Different from the Sky Attack move, although Brave Bird's special effect will cause some damage to the user, but is more powerful than most attacks and it can be launched in a match shorter time. The attack speed was very fast and did not require any timme to get ready to use.

The compatibility between Swellow, who was already very physically powerful and fearless, and this skil had a very terrifying impact behind it.

Swellow suddenly turned into a fire made out of orange and blue energy flames, now his body was aching to cause destruction.

"Swellow!" Winona exclaimed, but her Shiny Swellow had already lost her fighting ability without being able to do much of anything.

Now that she's down to her last Pokémon, "This is the final battle, my love!"

Skarmory appeared on the battlefield, and the fateful battle that had already been decided yesterday was finally about to take place here.

Pidgeot was the one chosen to go up against Skarmory, this time it was Ash who took the lead in attacking.

"Pidgeot, use Heat Wave!"

Ash's Pidgeot had great mastery over using the Heat Wave attack, this is also an attack that restrains Skarmory's Steel-type and its high defense.

Everyone present saw and felt the power and warmth that was radiating off of his body like a sharp spear ready to go ballistic, his huge wings were flapping wildly but also very majestically, and the blazing air waves pressed towards Skarmory like nothing Winona ever saw before.

"How is that possible?!" Winona was surprised again by her boyfriends Pokémon's, but this time she could not sit still and wait for her defeat. "Skarmory, use Agility, and then use Steel Wing to shake the damage off!"

The Steel Wing attack was obviously Skarmory's one of signature skills and one of its most versatile ones at that. Skarmory had managed to withstood the Heat Wave and attacked Pidgeot with whatever it had left in itself.

The damage could have been heavier but Ash had purposefully slowed this battle down to let his Pidgeot complete their shared Bonds Evolutions.

That's right, Pidgeot was very close to achieving his strongest form… of yet.

This caused a lot of damage to it, but in order to reverse the situation in one fell swoop and gain the power next for their future battles, Ash and Pidgeot must take risks like this, and this was a very very small rish compared to most things out there.

Even now, Pidgeot could easily defeat this Pokémon, even though Winona's Skarmory was considered one of the strongest Aces of a "Gym Leader," without much trouble.

However, Winona still believed that she and her Skarmory can pull something off in the final moments.

Sure enough, Skarmory's figure suddenly disappeared, apparently using her Agility move again, and then the wings covered with what looked to be a pure metallic shiny feathers slashed towards Pidgeot.

"Winona, that's a decent idea; however, don't think you're the only one who knows how to use Agility like that!"

Ash gave her a sly grin, and his Pidgeots figure disappeared the moment that he said that. Of course, the power of Heat Wave also stopped when this began.

Pidgeot: 250/255

Boom!

Ash had felt this so familiar heartbeat so many time before, and he always yearns for it again and again. It had a steady, but powerful and full of explosive power behind it. That was the power that was radiating off of Pidgeot's body.

The compatibility was already at a full value for a while now, and now their Bond Value was only short of the last 5 points, and if they finish it now, they can achieve their Bond Evolutions in the sky.

Under the blue shining sky, a strong wind suddenly blew, making the people present there unable to open their eyes and causing dust to fly everywhere.

But after a while, the sudden storm gradually wrapped around Pidgeot like what happened to Swellow, but much much more stronger than that, and the strong wind around him slowly stopped to reveal what looked to be a completely new Pokémon.

"Is this really going to happen against me?" Winona was only a little stunned. She had already seen something similar to this scene when her lover used it a few times back in the Johto Region Silver Conference.

Name: Ash-Pidgeot

Attribute: Normal, Flying

Ability: Big Pecks (Will not be affected by defense reduction.)

No Guard (Moves used by both sides will always hit their target. [Notice: With some extreme training, only the user will be able to land all hits.])

Moves: Sky Attack, Heat Wave, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Roost, Agility, Air Slash, Aerial Ace…

"Old partner, we have finally achieved this form!" Ash was extremely happy, almost as excited as his Pidgeot. Since his Pidgeot returned, he had been looking forward to the day when his loyal Pidgeot would achieve Thor power in the form of their bond.

And the Pidgeot did in front of him did not disappoint him at all.

"Use Air Slash!" As soon as Ash finished giving out his command, Pidgeot disappeared from his spot, there wasn't even anything that ever indicated that he was ever there; no light or afterimage.

Winona's eyes widened as she watched Pidgeot suddenly appear in front of her Skarmory like he was always just there, slashing her Skarmory down with a single simple but elegant looking Air Slash.

"What's going on?" Winona could feel that the new Pidgeot in front of her was completely different from before, like that time she saw happened to Ash's Blastoise in the Johto Region Silver Conference, "Skarmory, please hold on!"

Skarmory opened her eyes suddenly and took off again at her current best speed, arriving in front of Ash's Pidgeot in a slightly slower speed compared to the past. Flying-tusk attacks were not that effective against it, so it was still barely clinging onto his last bit of energy.

"Skarmory, use Swift!"

Sparkling stars were shooting towards Pidgeot, and at the same time, Skarmory also flapped its wings and rushed towards Pidgeot like there was no tomorrow.

"Air Slash!"

However, Ash's simple response was an Air Slash. Pidgeot very easily resisted the Swift attack and teleported away to the backside of Skarmory in an instant.

"Now, Steel Wing!"

This was a simple tactic to lure the enemy deep into the oppositions own territory. Relying on her Steel-type resistance, Winona decided to go all out on close combat.

But in fact, this still had no effect on Ash's current mood, because there was no impact of his Pidgeots defensive ability, and the moves of both sides will definitely hit the other no matter what happens, unless there is further training.

The second Air Slash hit Skarmory's Steel Wing hard, and the terrifying force immediately sent Skarmory flying away.

"The final blow, Sky Attack!"

This skill required momentum, a large amount at that. Pidgeots whole body suddenly released another white light, a loud eagle chirped, and the strong wind surrounding him was torn apart!

He finally revealed his new form unlike the old one where only his power was visible.

Pidgeot: 255/255

[Complete!]

The Pigeot in front of him was suddenly surrounded by a layer of fierce strong wind. One can even see that the Pidgeot inside has become much larger, with a wider and longer wingspan.

The feathers all over its body are covered with a brilliant golden light, and the feather crest on its head is even more dazzling. Five clusters of long red-gold feathers grow out of a larger cluster of shorter blue feathers, and the middle one was longer than even the rest of his body.

Super Sayin.

"So beautiful!"

Winona couldn't help but praise Pidgeots new true form, but she would still not give up until the end of the game, to show Ash that she wasn't any weak women that always needed his support, "Skarmory, use Agility, then Metal Claw!"

This time, Skarmory's pair of bird claws, also covered in metal armor, hit Pidgeot, and its wings were specially used for more acceleration that what its body could currently pull off!

Skarmory's pair of bird claws were very sharp, they are all shining with cold metallic light.

Boom!

Of course, Skarmory was knocked out completely before by the Sky Attack that Pidgeot was getting ready, and this time he finally and truly lost all of his ability to fight.

This was Ash's sixth official Gym Badge, the the Feather Badge of the Fortree City Gym.
