Pokemon born into a psychic family

Chapter 16: The Sky Of Southern Fairbay

July 22, night.

The moonlight was cold, and the battle club was shrouded in darkness, in silence. Only the lights from the supervisor's office shone, and faint discussions could be heard from inside the door.

Thomas Hardy, the manager of the Battle Club, stood by the French window, gazing out at the gloomy night. He appeared to be in his thirties, tall and slender, with a sharp silhouette. Black stockings covered his round, thin legs. There was a not very visible mole at the corner of his mouth.

"Tell me about this week's situation." Thomas's crimson lips parted slightly, and he looked at the secretary beside him with deep, dark eyes. The secretary held a stack of documents in her arms, and when she heard Thomas's voice, she pushed up her black-rimmed glasses and replied directly, "Director Hardy, first is about the Pokémon Association…"

Thomas slowly turned in his chair, resting his chin on his jade hand, his expression impassive as he listened in silence.

"The second thing is that a trainer reported us to the Pokémon Association."

Thomas's expression remained unchanged.

"The reason for the report is that the cost of hiring a training partner is too high for the average person to afford," the secretary said indifferently.

"Ah."

Upon hearing this, Thomas scoffed and said lightly, "Our battle club is running a charity business, and we still don't like the high price."

No one knows how much it costs each year to keep the rival club running smoothly.

Thomas knew.

When the Pokémon Association established the battle club, they never thought of making a profit from it. Not to mention the hundreds of staff members, the food expenses alone for hundreds of Pokémon are astronomical.

"The next thing," Thomas said after regaining his composure.

"The third thing is that battle field number 02 and venue number 07 are nearing the end of their lifespan and need funds for reconstruction."

"The fourth thing…"

"There's one last thing. This week, a very special trainer arrived at the Battle Club." The secretary spoke while looking at the information in her hand.

Thomas moved his lips and asked, "How special is he?"

"For the past seven days, he won all his battles without losing a single match."

"Oh, really?" Thomas showed a bit of interest. He pushed his hair back from his forehead and asked aloud, "What's his strength?"

"Normal," the secretary replied sincerely.

Upon hearing these three words, the slight interest on Thomas's face vanished in an instant, and he extended his hand to cover it.

"The Pokémon he uses is not normal," said the secretary, seemingly oblivious to Thomas's reaction.

"A Combusken, a Shiny Beldum."

When the voice fell, Thomas lifted his beautiful eyes, looked at the secretary, and said softly, "A different colored Beldum?"

—Yes, Shiny Beldum —the secretary nodded.

Seeing the secretary nod, Thomas was a bit surprised and then asked with interest, "Name, identity."

"His name is Bruce Bayne, but we haven't discovered his specific identity, just his home address." As if she knew Thomas would ask that question, the secretary answered without hesitation.

"Let me see," Thomas said after pondering for a moment.

After receiving the information from the secretary, Thomas looked down and examined it closely, but soon frowned slightly and fell into deep thought.

After a long while, Thomas murmured softly, "So it was him…"

"His last name is Bayne, he's a rookie trainer, and his Pokémon is a Shiny Beldum…"

"This family is very discreet."

Upon hearing this, the secretary unconsciously asked, "Director, are you referring to…"

Thomas did not choose to answer immediately but pointed at the ceiling with his finger and said, "Do you know who the most outstanding person in the southern city of Fairbay is?"

The secretary answered without hesitation, "President Durant of the Pokémon Association."

The president of the Pokémon Association in each city is almost the most powerful trainer in the area and can be considered the representative of the city.

And President Durant of the Southern Fairbay Pokémon Association is a high-ranking master trainer with powerful strength and a prominent status.

After hearing the secretary's answer, Thomas chuckled lightly: "The sky in the southern city of Fairbay is not President Durant, but King Jhon Bayne."

"King Jhon Bayne?" The secretary frowned slightly, recalling him carefully, and then asked, "Is he the Elite Psychic?"

Thomas did not commit, his deep black eyes softly replied, "I also forgot when King Jhon Bayne and his family arrived in Fairbay."

"This matter is not a secret. At that time, many trainers in the southern city of Fairbay knew."

"It's just that King Jhon Bayne and his family members do not hide but prefer to keep a low profile. They rarely appear in the public eye, so gradually you forgot about them."

"You should know that the owner of our city's psychic gym is the eldest son of King Jhon Bayne?"

The secretary nodded slightly and said, "I've heard about that."

Thomas continued to laugh and said, "The higher the family, the less easily they expose themselves to the public eye."

"If they appear frequently, it must be for the purpose of building momentum."

"It's almost time to make the calculations. King Jhon Bayne is older, and his eldest son has been very involved in the city of Fairbay, making it difficult to keep progressing."

"And this Bruce should be the representative of the younger generation in his family, or the hope."

She is very aware of the preciousness of a heterochromatic Beldum.

"According to rumors, they possess a terrible amount of psychic power lurking in their bodies, making fertility difficult and the population scarce."

"But as long as they grow without problems, they will all become powerful psychics or trainers."

"The leader of the Psychic Gym can use Psychic to enhance the strength of Pokémon, allowing Alakazam, which is at the maximum Gym level, to reach master level for a short time, which is very frightening."

Then, Thomas looked at Bruce's tough history of information and sighed slightly, "It seems there's a great trainer in his family."

After hearing these words, the secretary asked loudly, "So, supervisor, should we find a way to befriend this Bruce?"

Hearing this, Thomas smiled slightly, shook his head, and said, "Not necessary."

"This is the future of the Elite family. Although he has not yet grown, the background behind him is destined to be different from ours."

"Whether a gym-level trainer or a master-level trainer, in the eyes of the Elites, it is simply mediocre."

"Therefore, there is no need to intentionally befriend him, as long as you show goodwill at the right moment."
