When the first ray of sunlight entered the house through the window, the air was filled with golden particles of sunlight.
Bruce stretched his waist, opened his sleepy eyes, and quickly got up.
The items in the wooden house were well-organized, and Bruce had simply rested here last night, which saved him a lot of trouble.
When he stepped outside the wooden house, there were nearby trees and tall mountain walls in the distance, like a natural barrier protecting the wooden house.
Last night, some sheriffs had followed up and took the remaining Pokemon hunters.
Bruce had lamented several times about the power of his phone call. It was likely those Pokemon hunters never imagined the battle.
Thoughts passed through Bruce's mind as he released Beldum and Ralts to let them meet each other.
At the same time, Ralts' detailed data panel was updated.
[Pokemon: Ralts (Psychic/Fairy)
Ability: Copy
Qualification: Champion
Moves: Growl, Confusion, Destiny Bond, Disable, Double Team, Future Sight, Evil Eye
Level: Lv5]
"Oh, with these genetic moves, the father of this child is probably a Ghost-type Pokemon, right?" Bruce rubbed his chin, thinking to himself.
At that moment, Beldum and Ralts started a cordial exchange.
"Boo?"
"What?"
"Boo!"
"Hello!"
"Boo!"
"Ralts Ralts!"
Bruce didn't know what the two little ones were discussing, but it seemed like the conversation was quite lively.
"Ahem, Beldum, Ralts will be the smallest member of our team from now on, you must protect it well." Bruce stared intently at Beldum and said in a deep voice.
"Boom boom boom!"
Beldum's huge blood-red eyes stared at Bruce, sending a strong response.
"Alright, keep communicating, I'll go prepare breakfast."
As for the older brother Combusken in the team, he had gotten up early and was practicing his fighting skills against the trees.
After a hasty meal, Bruce took out the map and began to think about the next plan.
"I'm currently at the intersection of Fairbay City and Endsville City, just a few dozen kilometers away from Endsville City. It's better to head north to reach Endsville City and then take the train back to Fairbay City."
"Well, by the way, let's check out the customs of Endsville City."
Bruce was a determined entrepreneur. Once he had an idea, he immediately packed his things and headed for Endsville City.
Combusken was still closely watching Bruce's side, but this time Beldum was also floating beside him.
In Bruce's arms was Ralts, who was very curious about everything around it.
Thanks to the huge amount of experience points provided by Toxicroak yesterday, Combusken had successfully completed his training tasks.
So today it was Beldum's turn to face any Pokemon that might appear along the way.
Except, of course, for veteran Pokemon.
Ralts is special. It's low-level. Facing any wild Pokemon is a sacrifice, so now it just needs to develop well.
Bruce planned to wait until Ralts' level improved before starting the battle.
Beldum and Ralts would be very powerful Pokemon after evolving into their final forms.
Gardevoir is called the queen, and Metagross is the invincible Metagross!
Bruce could even imagine a scene where the silver Metagross floated silently behind him, with cold, ruthless scarlet eyes.
And Blaziken stood firm at his left side, with a strong figure and a furious flame on his wrist.
Gardevoir's white dress swayed as she stood gracefully on his right, her red pupils flashing and sending out psychic waves of energy.
It wasn't long before the first wild Pokemon appeared on the road, a blue and purple one with a stinger at the end of its tail and white hooks on the tips of its front legs.
[Pokemon: Skorupi (Poison/Bug)
Ability: Battle Armor
Qualification: Gym
Level: Lv18 (Senior)]
"Strange, there's actually a Skorupi here," Bruce said in surprise, looking at the Skorupi in front of him.
The normal Skorupi lives on land, mainly in deserts, and it's rare to see them elsewhere.
This Skorupi was aggressive and didn't seem like it would easily get out of the way.
"Boo!"
Beldum floated in front of Bruce, and Skorupi stared at it.
There's an unwritten rule in the Pokemon world that says when a Trainer and a Pokemon make eye contact, a battle is inevitable.
Skorupi decided to attack first. It took a step forward and rushed towards Beldum. Its two sharp fangs seemed to be coated with Normal Toxic, shining with a terrible glow.
Bruce recognized this move—Poison Fang.
For a moment, Bruce suspected this Skorupi was from Ash's Pokemon class. Otherwise, how could it attack Beldum with Poison-type abilities?
Oh, wild Pokemon don't have a Master to teach them attribute restrictions, that's fine.
"Zen Headbutt," thoughts flashed through his mind as Bruce issued the command.
"Boo!"
Beldum responded quietly, and suddenly a dazzling light blossomed from its forehead, emitting a brilliant ray and revealing psychic energy fluctuations right in front of Skorupi!
In an instant, Skorupi let out a scream and fell straight to the ground, its eyes turning into circles.
Was Skorupi at level 18 really here?
According to research from Pokemon researchers, the combat power of the same-level Pokemon differs greatly between a Trainer/Breeder and a wild Pokemon.
Without it, the Pokemon Trainer/Breeder will have many resources to complement them, so their combat power will naturally be much higher than that of a wild Pokemon.
But for Bruce, there's no difference—whether it's a Pokemon raised by a Trainer/Breeder or a wild Pokemon, the experience points provided are the same.
"Yay!"
Ralts clapped its hands and gave admiring looks as Beldum easily defeated Skorupi.
"Boo!"
Beldum heard Ralts' praise, squinted its huge red eyes, floated, and swirled around Bruce several times.
Although limited by its special body, Beldum couldn't express its expression clearly, but Bruce understood that it must be grinning foolishly at that moment.
After dealing with the overwhelmed Skorupi, Bruce continued heading north on the road.
There were plenty of wild Pokemon along the way, from normal to veteran types. Both Combusken and Beldum were fully tempered, and their combat experience was steadily improving.
That day, Bruce had a very fulfilling life, spending time on the road and battling.
Fortunately, his physical condition was much better than that of ordinary people, and he successfully left the Green Forest before sunset, reaching the outskirts of North Fairbay City.
Looking around, a round red sun slowly set to the west, casting thousands of rays of light over each mountain peak.
At the end of the road, under his feet, there were small houses, their rooftops bathed in the faint halo of the setting sun.
Bruce looked at the map and realized this place was called Azafran Village, more than 20 kilometers from the urban area of North Fairbay City.
"This stupid map tricked me," Bruce rarely cursed after seeing the distance shown on the map.
He followed the map to navigate to the end, but after walking for a long time, the distance hadn't shortened, and now he realized he still had more than 20 kilometers to go.
"Looks like I can't leave today," Bruce murmured quietly.
This place was located on the outskirts, so there was no way to think about taking a taxi.
"Let's go to the village and see if there's somewhere to stay," Bruce thought.
Of course, he had serious doubts about that. In a small village, there probably wouldn't be any hotels unless there was a guesthouse.
After making his decision, Bruce returned Beldum and Ralts to their Poke Balls. In such a remote place, it was better to keep them in their Poke Balls.
He quickly walked toward Azafran Village.
It was past six in the evening, and it was time for everyone in the village to have dinner. Many people were squatting at the door of their homes with rice bowls in hand, watching the young man approaching from afar.
Bruce asked around and found that there was indeed no hotel here, nor the guesthouse he had hoped for.
Forget it, he would just find a place to camp.
At the corner of Azafran Village, Bruce saw a large open space in front of a courtyard, which seemed like a good spot to camp.
Bruce quickly walked to the courtyard door and politely knocked.
Not long after, footsteps were heard inside, and the door opened to reveal an elderly woman with crutches. Her eyes were cloudy but kind, and after seeing Bruce, her weathered face showed some confusion.
"Young man, what's going on?" The old woman's voice was also quite kind.
Bruce quickly explained why he had come.
After listening quietly, the old woman first looked at Bruce, who was covered in dust, then turned her head and called out to Combusken, who was standing to the side, with a smile on her face:
"My courtyard is small, but I have an empty room. If you don't mind, you can stay in it for the night
."
"No, no, no, I can't trouble you," Bruce repeatedly refused.
The old woman's smile remained unchanged as she gently said,
"It's not safe to sleep outside, and the stray cats and dogs might bother you from time to time. It's better to sleep inside, and you can take a hot bath tonight."
Bruce paused for a moment, his expression tangled.
He didn't think there was anything wrong with that kind of behavior. After all, the safety in the Pokemon world was quite good, and criminals on the run simply roamed nature.
In the cities, everyone lived harmoniously and maintained friendly relationships.
Staying at the home of a stranger was quite common in the Pokemon world. William had boasted many times about traveling to various regions in his early years and meeting many friends by staying with them overnight.
It's just that the person in front of him was an elderly woman with obvious mobility issues, and if he stayed here, he would probably be a burden. Bruce hesitated a bit.
But upon meeting the benevolent gaze of the old woman and looking at himself in the dusty world, Bruce finally nodded.
"Then I'll trouble you."
