Chapter 25: Chapter 25: A Land Flowing with Milk and Honey

Chapter 25: A Land Flowing with Milk and Honey

Kenji leaped down from the tunnel entrance, landing in front of the Clefairy. The other Clefairy saw this stranger and immediately showed expressions of vigilance.

The Clefairy that had been chased by the Druddigon, however, looked at the others and happily said to them, "Clefairy, Cle~"

The surrounding Clefairy were taken aback for a moment, and then the wariness in their eyes vanished. "Clefairy~!"

However, the Clefairy didn't keep their attention on Kenji for long. They had important business to attend to. That was, to use the energy of the Moon Stones to start their spaceship and return to the heavens!

One Clefairy went forward and circled the spaceship, checking the progress of their Moon Stone collection. Seeing the energy bay filled with a pile of Moon Stones, it turned back to the other Clefairy with great excitement and called out, "Cle~! Cle~!"

Hearing this, the eyes of the other Clefairy lit up. "Clefairy!"

Amidst a chorus of "Clefairy, Clefairy," the group jubilantly rushed towards the spaceship. They filed neatly into an opening that appeared to be a hatch, and in just a short while, all of them were inside. They could finally return to space and continue their "Great Voyage"!

"Cle—fairy!"

Cosmic Power!

Gravity!

A rich pink light glowed from the bodies of the Clefairy, and the spaceship began to glow along with them. In the next second, the spaceship that had crashed in Meteor Falls began to slowly lift off the ground with a rumbling sound!

A look of astonishment appeared on Kenji's face. In an instant, he understood the key. The Clefairy were using the move Cosmic Power to harness the energy within the Moon Stones, replenishing their own and the ship's consumed energy. Then, they were using Gravity to make the ship ascend.

No, to be precise, it wasn't ordinary Gravity, but reverse Gravity! The normal Gravity move increased the ground's pull, hindering flying Pokémon and those with the Levitate ability. But from the looks of it, the Clefairy seemed to have reduced the ground's gravitational pull and instead increased the sky's, thereby causing the spaceship to be pulled upwards towards the sky.

Gravity can be used like that? What genius Clefairy!

In mid-air, just as the spaceship was about to fly out of Meteor Falls, the faint pink light enveloping it suddenly vanished. Immediately after, amidst the Clefairy's cries of alarm and screams, the spaceship came crashing back down to its original spot with a loud boom.

The Clefairy ran out, covered in dust. One of them checked the ship's energy bay and, seeing the now-empty chamber, burst into tears. The Moon Stones they had worked so hard to collect over the past two days had been completely depleted by the ship's launch! Now it was even more impossible for them to return.

When it rains, it pours. Not only was their energy gone, but the Clefairy also discovered to their horror that the spaceship had been damaged in the crash!

"Clefairy..."

The Clefairy sat down on the ground, their expressions utterly dejected.

In truth, ClefairyTech wasn't very advanced. It was just that a long time ago, a Clefairy in their tribe had accidentally discovered that by using Cosmic Power and a Moon Stone, it could control that big rock (the spaceship) and make it fly. And so, the Clefairy's Great Age of Space Exploration officially began.

Countless Clefairy left their tribe in spaceships to explore the cosmos. Some even successfully returned, sharing a piece of news with the tribe. At the edge of the universe, there was a place flowing with milk and honey, where there was endless delicious food and juice to drink. It was like a paradise, and any Clefairy who arrived there could live a happy and joyful life forever after.

The Clefairy were moved. They collected a large pile of Moon Stones. Although Moon Stones were uncommon in this place, on their home planet, they were just common pebbles found everywhere on the roadside. After collecting enough Moon Stones, the Clefairy officially set off. They were prepared to travel to that planet, to find the "land flowing with milk and honey," and live a happy life there with everyone.

However, their beautiful dream had dissipated like a soap bubble. They couldn't go back... Their mission could not be completed. Now they were trapped in this place.

"Clefairy..."

The Clefairy hung their heads, utterly downcast.

Kenji, who had witnessed the entire process: "..."

His gaze swept over the group of Clefairy. A small dark cloud floated above almost every single one's head. Some were raining, others were just dark and gloomy. This meant the group of Clefairy was currently in a state of extreme depression.

And in the "Description" section of the Clefairy's data, Kenji discovered the reason.

[It's over, the Moon Stones are used up, and the ship is broken. Everyone's going to be trapped here! —Clefairy]

[Now there's really no way to leave. —Clefairy]

[What a terrible day. —Clefairy]

The Moon Stones were used up? Kenji walked over and glanced at the energy bay where the Clefairy stored the Moon Stones. Sure enough, it was completely empty now. These evolution stones were the solid form of pure energy. Once they reacted with external objects and their energy was used, the stones would disappear. The Clefairy's launch of the spaceship had clearly consumed all the energy from those Moon Stones.

Now Kenji understood why the Clefairy were so dejected.

He thought for a moment and then asked, "About how many of those stones do you need to leave this place?"

"Clefairy?"

Although they didn't quite understand, the Clefairy were still friendly towards the human who had just helped their companion and answered. "Clefairy!"

One Clefairy came forward and made a gesture. It meant that when they arrived, they had filled this energy bay to the brim.

Kenji understood its meaning and asked again, "Filled to the top?"

"Clefairy!" The Clefairy nodded.

"Then you probably won't find that many Moon Stones even if you scour the entire Meteor Falls!"

Hearing this, the Clefairy's spirits sank even lower.

"However, I have a suggestion that might be able to help you," Kenji said, a smile appearing on his face. His gaze swept over the group of Clefairy before him. He carefully counted them and found that there were twelve Clefairy in total.

"Clefairy?" The Clefairy immediately looked up.

"Why don't you all come to my place for now? I run a shop nearby with a lot of space. You can live there temporarily."

"If you're willing, you can also help me out there. As payment, I will provide you with food and juice, and I can also help you collect Moon Stones."

The Clefairy were Pokémon with a simple social structure, and they quickly understood his meaning. Soon, a Clefairy cried out in surprise, "Clefairy?!"

For real? Not only can we get food, but we can also get Moon Stones? Is there really such a good deal in this world?

Several of the Clefairy became very excited.
