"Sableye, dodge quickly—!"

Rumble.

A doomsday-like thunder crashed down, leaving only a fainted Sableye in the arena.

Another defeated challenger walked away in despair. There are just eight more challengers before Terrance is finished with the battles.

"How can there be a Castform like this…?"

"This suddenly makes me feel more confident about my Castform!" a certain Trainer remarked.

Quite a few spectators were still waiting, waiting for the two Trainers who have qualified for the Champion League to make their appearance.

Though Brawly and Roxanne were Gym Trainers with Champion League qualifications, they hadn't personally participated in top-tier competitions after all. Even if they had the strength, it was difficult for outsiders to judge them.

However, "Tamer" Kyōsuke and "Battle Girl" Mito were different. Both had appeared in the Champion League. At only fifteen or sixteen years old, standing among competitors vying for Elite Four positions was proof enough of their skill.

"Tamer" Kyōsuke wore a serious expression. He had no doubts now—Terrance did possess Champion League-level strength. Only Trainers at their level could recognize that Terrance's every Pokémon was raised according to Champion League standards. It was a completely different temperament compared to those raising Pokémon for the League Conference and Gym Battles.

"Battle Girl" Mito pondered over which Pokémon to send out. At their level, sending out one of the main Pokémon that specifically counters the opponent's Pokémon might offer an even greater advantage than using their ace Pokémon.

"That's… Blizzard!!"

The swirling vortex transformed into a Blizzard in an instant!

Terrance and Castform's opponent stood frozen in place, never expecting the same trick Terrance had used against Roxanne to be repeated here. "Good idea, let it rest for a while then."

Tamer Kyōsuke—Terrance gazed at his opponent. The reason for switching Pokémon also had to do with the fact that his opponent was a Champion League contestant. Even Terrance had to show the appropriate level of respect.

"Alright then, Gallade, it's your turn."

"Gallade, huh?" Kyōsuke sighed in relief and sent out a Pokémon with a brown body and ring-shaped antlers with a black orb in the center—Stantler!

Due to its perfectly shaped antlers being valuable as art pieces, Stantler had once faced overhunting and was nearly driven to extinction. Seeing Kyōsuke's choice, Battle Girl's heart skipped a beat. Stantler might not be Kyōsuke's strongest Pokémon, but it was definitely his trickiest to deal with.

This Stantler wasn't ordinary.

"That size..." Terrance was inwardly astonished. Normally, a Stantler weighs around 70 kg, but this Stantler was a full size larger, with an estimated weight of at least 100 kg. However, the bulk didn't give off an impression of robustness; instead, it was purely a mass of fat, making the Pokémon appear obese and sluggish!

Though he wasn't sure why Kyōsuke had chosen such a Pokémon, Terrance didn't believe Gallade would lose.

When it came to uniqueness, Gallade could rival any Pokémon.

"Battle, begin!"

Buzz~~

The moment Scarlet announced the start, Stantler's antlers curved slightly, subtly altering the surrounding airflow and creating a mysterious space.

All of this happened in an instant. Even before Kyōsuke gave any commands, Stantler acted on its own, leaving everyone puzzled.

Bang!

Its front hooves stomped on the ground, causing a slight tremor. At this moment, Terrance noticed something strange—Stantler's aura had changed. Yet, even he couldn't pinpoint exactly what had changed.

"Trick Room!!"

Several Trainers, including Battle Girl Mito and Terrance, instinctively recognized the move.

"Stantler, Jump Kick!"

Kyōsuke issued a swift command. Suddenly, Stantler's blood seemed to be boiling, shocking everyone with its intensity. The lazy look in its eyes vanished, replaced by a sharp gaze, as if it had instantly gained immense power and speed!

The force from its stomp propelled Stantler into the air as it launched a Jump Kick directly at Gallade. Terrance's eyes narrowed—he noticed Gallade's expression. It was...

"Its energy flow must be blocked," Terrance thought to himself. Trick Room creates a bizarre space, and within this space, everything is eerily strange. Unlike the straightforward effects of a gravitational field, even Terrance couldn't fully comprehend it!

"Tamer Kyōsuke... I see. This Stantler really does resemble a beast now. Are his other Pokémon like this too? That Gallade—did it actually fail to dodge?!"

The Trainer who had battled Terrance's Gallade was extremely shocked. When he saw Terrance's Gallade take the field, he had assumed Terrance was certain to win. But the opponent's Stantler... it seemed to have unleashed a move that could hinder Gallade's Teleport speed?!

"Bang—!"

At the critical moment, Gallade didn't have time to sense the sluggish energy flow. Instead, it directly used the blades on its elbows to block the incoming move with its own body!

Thud!!

Gallade was sent flying backward. Despite being rigorously trained by Terrance to endure hits, the sheer force of the attack left it in significant pain. Stantler landed on all fours, showing no signs of slowing its assault. Many spectators looked at the obese figure in disbelief, unable to comprehend how it could move so agilely.

Following the Jump Kick, a mysterious glow gathered at Stantler's antlers, enveloping its entire body in light. With a surge of tremendous power, it charged forward, refusing to give Gallade even a moment to catch its breath.

Zen Headbutt!

Terrance's gaze locked onto Gallade. Would it manage to use it?

It did!

Without the element of surprise from Stantler's initial attack when Trick Room had just formed, this time, Gallade managed to react right after being knocked back. It immediately used Teleport. Gallade's Teleport had been trained to perfection, yet even so, the Trick Room drastically slowed down its execution speed. Terrance's expression grew serious as he quickly pondered how to break through it.

Stantler's long antlers, glowing brilliantly, rushed forward, its entire body floating due to psychic energy. Whoosh!

Just as everyone was worried that Gallade, in a defensive stance, was about to suffer serious injuries, the space rippled, and Gallade's green figure vanished in an instant. In its place, Stantler rushed through the spot where Gallade had been. Gallade reappeared mid-air, extending its arm blades. Without gathering any energy for a move, it struck down directly with sheer physical strength!

"A direct attack!"
