Qing Wu then saw everyone's gaze turn towards him, including the black-robed figure who had just closed his eyes.
"Zubat, go for it!" Qing Wu directly called out Zubat.
"This fraudulently obtained first place."
"Looking at his Zubat, it feels quite strong."
"I just wonder if he'll fall from grace, after all, we're not quite the same as before."
Numerous trialists whispered amongst themselves.
Facing the gossip, Qing Wu and Zubat paid no heed, instead calmly watching the moving test robot.
"Go, Zubat!" Zubat felt that the test robot's movement speed was simply too slow, even a snail was faster.
Zubat instantly transformed into a stream of light, colliding with the test robot's belly, then, using an air current from Tailwind, it relieved the pressure and finally returned to its original position.
Zubat's movement happened in an instant. Even before people's naked eyes could catch it, Zubat had already completed its attack.
"Number 255, power value 453, currently ranked first." A Team Rocket grunt recorded the newly obtained result.
The crowd erupted in an uproar.
"No way, I didn't even see that Zubat move just now."
"No, I saw that Zubat move."
"How come this 'first place' has become even more impressive?"
Cang's sharp eyes scanned Qing Wu, who remained unperturbed.
"Indeed, he's not afraid of my Heavenly King suppression. What a promising talent." Others hadn't seen clearly, but Cang had seen it all.
Just now, Zubat used an extremely fast Quick Attack and returned to its original position, appearing as if it hadn't moved at all.
Qing Wu directly turned and walked away, finding a corner of the plaza to sit down.
"What was that black-robed figure staring at me for just now?" Qing Wu clearly knew that the black-robed figure's gaze towards him held no malice.
At this moment, Qing Wu felt another gaze watching him.
Qing Wu looked up. Cang Mu's pale face revealed a playful smile. Like a venomous snake fixated on its prey, Cang Mu grinned.
"This Cang Mu feels extremely abnormal, like he's schizophrenic."
Earlier, at the exchange point, Qing Wu had already recognized Cang Mu's disguise. Now Qing Wu was certain: Cang Mu was a complete madman.
After Qing Wu came Cang Mu. Cang Mu released a massive Seviper.
"Seviper, use Poison Tail," Cang Mu commanded.
Seviper stuck out its red tongue. Its scythe-like tail was filled with purple venom, and it fiercely whipped at the moving test robot.
With a loud clank, the test robot took a heavy hit. Seviper then quickly withdrew, its movements very fluid.
Seviper hissed brazenly, its red fangs even redder.
A power value of 398 appeared on the screen.
"Still a bit less than Qing Wu," Cang Mu's expression immediately turned sinister. He eyed Qing Wu with ill intent, as if plotting something mischievous.
"Number 39, power value 158."
"Number 239, power value 220."
"Number 211, power value 198."
...
The trialists were astonished to find that the top three positions in the second trial were exactly the same as in the first.
"Cang, what do you think of the top three?" Instructor Frostwolf quietly asked Cang.
"The first place is acceptable. I don't particularly like the other two; their personalities are a bit too strange. They're not as quiet as the first place." Cang pulled out a silver-white token from his arms. On it was a large red letter "R".
This was the token of Team Rocket's ANBU direct lineage, equivalent to the rank of a Team Rocket captain.
"If he can consistently get first place, I want him," Cang told Instructor Frostwolf.
"Alright, I'm just responsible for training anyway, and the personnel aren't under my direct command," Instructor Frostwolf shrugged.
"That little girl was favored by Athena, and that tall, thin young man was favored by Bisharp. I'll reserve this person for you. Aren't you going to recruit a few more?" Instructor Frostwolf asked curiously.
"No need. Quality over quantity," Cang said, then turned and left.
The reward for first place in the second gathering was 500 points plus 6 Great Balls.
These Great Balls were superior to ordinary Poké Balls, and their capture rate was more than double that of ordinary Poké Balls.
Furthermore, Great Balls also made Pokémon feel more comfortable than ordinary Poké Balls.
To describe it, an ordinary Poké Ball is like a one-room apartment, while a Great Ball is at least a three-bedroom apartment.
An Ultra Ball would be at least a small villa.
As for the highest-grade Master Ball, sorry, it can contain an area the size of a small island.
These Poké Balls were each more comfortable than the last, making Pokémon so happy they'd forget to go home, while also increasing the capture rate.
Qing Wu quickly switched Aron's and Zubat's Poké Balls. Afterwards, Qing Wu called out to Lan Ling, who was about to leave.
"Wait a moment, Lan Ling, I have something to discuss with you," Qing Wu directly called out to Lan Ling.
Lan Ling's bright eyes showed a hint of confusion. What did this lone wolf, Qing Wu, want with her?
"Look at this, I want to make a trade with you," Qing Wu handed a Poké Ball to Lan Ling.
"A green-qualified Pokémon?" Qing Wu lowered his voice and told Lan Ling. Lan Ling covered her mouth in excitement.
"Is it that Pokémon?" Lan Ling asked tentatively. Qing Wu nodded directly.
"Is it convenient for me to test this Pokémon's aptitude?" Lan Ling whispered.
"It's not that I don't trust you, but Pokémon of this aptitude are really too rare. I need to confirm it clearly," Lan Ling quickly added.
"Of course, no problem," Qing Wu indicated he understood.
Lan Ling took out a testing device identical to a Smeargle from her backpack and repeatedly scanned the Poké Ball Qing Wu handed over.
Before long, Bellsprout's data appeared.
"I can confirm it now. This Pokémon of yours has green aptitude. Do you need points or a Pokémon?" Lan Ling asked Qing Wu.
Qing Wu saw the aptitude appraisal device in Lan Ling's hand and knew that Lan Ling might have a high-aptitude Pokémon.
"Do you have a green-qualified Pokémon?" Qing Wu simply asked. He was a little curious.
"No, do you think green-qualified Pokémon are common cabbages?" Lan Ling said, huffing and puffing.
"Then I'll exchange it for Team Rocket points, or some rare materials will do," Qing Wu thought to himself that he was indeed fantasizing.
After a green-qualified Pokémon was captured, wouldn't they worship it like an ancestor? Did he think they were all like that fat guy, who would directly discard his green-qualified Pokémon?
"Then how many points do you need? Let me tell you first, my team also has high expenses, and we don't have much circulating points. If you want treasures, I can let you choose any five," Lan Ling made a hand gesture.
"I'll have to see to know. If there are TM/HM discs, that would also work," Qing Wu added.
He was truly lacking TM/HM discs now. Although he knew the principles of the moves, it would be better for Pokémon to learn them through orthodox TM/HM instruction.
