Pokémon have arrived, and they're really not called magical beasts.

Chapter 32: Old Chen's Request

Su Feng: "..."

"Then… what are Old Chen and Old Xu's actual positions?"

Brother Jin glanced at him and said faintly, "Think of the highest authority you can imagine. They're one level below that."

"Holy shit!?"

Su Feng's hands trembled, nearly dropping the documents. Through Brother Jin's explanation, he realized the gravity of the situation.

These two seals were like the "travel documents" Emperor Taizong gave Tang Sanzang in Journey to the West. They acted as universal passes wherever human authority existed. The message was clear: If you don't let him through, I'll come to you myself.

Su Feng couldn't help but grin. He'd already guessed the elders' status was high, but his imagination had still fallen short. Recalling his earlier casual behavior, he wanted to find a Celebi to travel back in time and slap his past self.

"Once upon a time, two god-tier thighs were right in front of me, but I didn't cherish them…"

Slumped in the jeep seat, Su Feng muttered resentfully while picking at the leather upholstery. Brother Jin side-eyed him repeatedly as the seat neared developing a hole.

"He's Old Chen and Old Xu's man. Stay calm… stay calm…"

The two muttered their way to Su Feng's new residence—a small villa with a private yard, clearly chosen by Old Xu to accommodate Torchic and future Pokémon.

"Mr. Su, this is your new home. I'll take my leave now."

The moment Su Feng stepped out, Brother Jin's foot hovered over the gas pedal, ready to flee.

"Wait, Brother Jin! Old Xu said to come to you with any issues."

Brother Jin: "…"

Resigned to his fate, Brother Jin shared his contact details.

"OK, Brother Jin! I'll need you tomorrow for something important. Come early!"

"Understood."

Brother Jin sighed. What he'd thought was a simple task had turned into a headache.

After settling into the villa (fully furnished with brand-new bedding), Su Feng and Torchic collapsed onto the soft bed after dinner.

"System, open the shop."

A screen visible only to Su Feng displayed his points and exchangeable items, categorized into six types: Consumables, Food, Tools, Technology, TMs, Poké Balls, and Abilities.

The "Technology" section was astronomically priced—the blueprint for a Master Ball cost hundreds of millions of points, far beyond Su Feng's reach. "Abilities" were equally daunting, with the cheapest (Basic Psychic) costing 10,000 points.

But one affordable item caught his eye: Standard Poké Ball Blueprint (3,000 points). With nearly 4,000 points saved, Su Feng gritted his teeth and bought it.

Major blood loss.

Staring at the blueprint, Su Feng shook his head and stored it away. Releasing Poké Balls now would lead to reckless Pokémon capture. He preferred a slower, bond-first approach between humans and Pokémon.

After exchanging a few travel essentials, he closed the shop—seeing unaffordable items was torture.

The next day, Brother Jin arrived early to escort Su Feng to a research center for the Pokédex Project.

Though the system sold a Pokédex blueprint, Su Feng opted to save points. After discussions, the team decided to develop the Pokédex as a mobile app for accessibility and real-time updates. The classic handheld device could wait.

Su Feng spent the day lecturing researchers on Pokémon names, habits, and ecosystems. By nightfall, programmers (with terrifying efficiency) had built a functional app cataloging over 200 species—though photos for many were still missing.

"With Porygon or Rotom, these coders could probably hack reality…"

The Pokédex intentionally excluded Legendary Pokémon, as Su Feng insisted public knowledge of gods was premature. Drafting Pokémon-related laws also began, though progress would be slow.

Between work, Su Feng livestreamed cozy home life with Torchic, earning steady points. Officially designated as China's Sole Certified Pokémon Educator, his streams were pinned to every platform's front page. Yet, as a seasoned otaku, he stuck to his pink-themed streaming site—its "talented, smooth-talking" community suited him.

Just as he planned to relax, Old Chen summoned him.

"Xiao Feng! How's life? Comfortable in Old Xu's villa?"

"Thanks to you both, it's perfect. The Pokédex and laws are progressing well."

"Good, good!" Old Chen stroked his beard cheerfully. "But we need your help with something."

"Just say the word! I'm at your service!"

Su Feng's righteous act could've fooled anyone into thinking he was a热血 youth.

"A forest near City C is being polluted by an unidentified Pokémon. Many fruit farmers rely on those trees."

"Since we're committed to peaceful coexistence, we'd like you to resolve this… diplomatically."

"Piece of cake!" Su Feng thumped his chest. "Leave it to me!"
