Pokemon: I am a God-level Player

Chapter 105: 105 Effects Of The Ability Capsule

"Very good. Next are 5 Rare Candies, 2 Gold Bottle Caps, and the so-called Ability Capsule."

Examining these items, Eddie felt that this mission had indeed been difficult, but the rewards were well worth it.

He already had 5 Rare Candies in his possession, and with these additional 5, he now had 10.

Ten Rare Candies meant Eddie could instantly level up a Pokémon by 10 levels at any time!

This was no small advantage—an Peak-level Pokémon could instantly become Gym-level, and a Gym-level could immediately transform into a Elite level, potentially terrifying opponents in mere minutes.

"But these items become more valuable over time, especially as experience requirements increase. Better to save them for later use or reserve them for critical moments like we just faced."

With this thought, Eddie stored away the 10 Rare Candies. These items were almost as valuable as Gold Bottle Caps. The unconditional level boost alone was practically a game-breaking advantage.

Eddie intended to use them only at crucial moments.

If Elite or Champion-level Trainers knew such items existed, they would likely confront Eddie immediately.

These special candies only appeared as rewards for hidden tasks, never in standard missions.

And even if other players managed to obtain them by completing hidden tasks, they would be lucky to get just one.

Unlike Eddie, who could receive 3, 4, or even 5 of these candies due to increased difficulty levels.

"I only had 1 Gold Bottle Cap left previously. With these 2 additional ones, I now have 3. It's time to use one on Lucario."

Eddie couldn't help feeling proud while examining these Gold Bottle Caps with their potential-increasing power.

In the pre-rebirth era, players and locals worldwide would fight over a single Silver Crown, but Eddie now possessed not only 5 Silver Crowns but also 3 Gold Bottle Caps.

How could he not feel proud?

After savoring the moment, Eddie took out a Gold Bottle Cap and used it on Lucario.

"Ding! You used the Gold Bottle Cap on Lucario. Lucario's potential has been successfully increased! It now has 'Champion-level' potential!"

Lucario sensed his potential reaching new heights and felt immense gratitude toward Eddie.

Previously, he had thought it might take several years to reach this level, but now, that timeline had been dramatically shortened.

Eddie naturally recognized Lucario's joy and simply smiled.

After becoming one of Eddie's main Pokémon, success was virtually guaranteed for any creature.

Simply put: traveling with Eddie meant not only enjoying good food and drink but also experiencing rapid improvements in strength and potential!

"Good, almost everything is ready. Now for the highlight!"

Eddie's expression suddenly turned serious as he carefully removed the so-called "Ability Capsule."

Just yesterday at Professor Birch's laboratory, he had been complaining about how unlikely it was to find such an item, yet here it was after completing this difficult task.

Was it because of his complaining that it appeared, or was this mission truly difficult enough to warrant such an extremely rare reward?

Eddie wasn't sure which explanation was correct, but regardless, the item was now in his possession.

As for its effect, Eddie wasn't entirely clear—after all, this was his first encounter with such an item. Though his expression was serious, he eagerly opened the information interface for the potion.

[Ability Capsule]: When used on a Pokémon, it can activate a second Ability, creating a dual-Ability Pokémon! The second Ability can be any ability the Pokémon could naturally possess, including hidden abilities or mega-evolution abilities!

Note: For example, Gardevoir has the [Synchronize] ability. After using this potion, the second ability might be [Trace] or the hidden ability [Telepathy], or the mega-evolved ability [Pixilate]!

Note: If Gardevoir obtains the mega-evolved ability [Pixilate], then after mega evolution, it will retain its original ability [Synchronize] alongside [Pixilate], remaining a dual-ability Pokémon.

"This is excellent—the included examples make everything clear. This Item seems quite reasonable."

Initially, Eddie had worried this item might create unreasonable combinations, but it turned out to be quite balanced and logical.

Although the potion could activate a second ability, making a Pokémon a dual-ability creature, the second ability could only be one the Pokémon itself could naturally possess.

From this perspective, the item wasn't overpowered, since some Pokémon's abilities were actually dispensable, even with dual abilities.

Only Pokémon with powerful ability options or those capable of mega evolution would maximize the potion's effectiveness.

"I think Charizard could benefit from this, especially considering its two mega evolutions. Adding the ability [Tough Claws] or [Drought] would be quite advantageous."

"Then again, Charizard is already extremely powerful with its two mega evolution forms, so it doesn't necessarily need this enhancement, especially since its Blaze ability isn't frequently utilized."

"Therefore, this potion is most suitable for Greninja!"

Eddie contemplated for a while before reaching this conclusion.

Among his four main Pokémon—Charizard, Sceptile, Lucario, and Greninja—the first three could mega evolve, providing explosive power increases during battle.

But Greninja lacked this capability, as not all Pokémon could mega evolve, or perhaps its specific evolution stone hadn't been discovered yet.

However, Greninja possessed its own [Battle Bond] ability, which allowed a different kind of transformation or evolution.

This transformation ability was potentially even stronger than mega evolution, truly remarkable in its own right.

"But after using this potion, Greninja could have [Battle Bond] or [Torrent] abilities. Though the chance of getting [Torrent] as the second ability is only 50%."

Eddie remained concerned about this aspect.

After all, he had only one potion, and he didn't know when he might obtain another.

Once used, it would be gone. "Let's take the risk! If we don't use it, it's just wasting potential."

"Besides, with my luck, I'm bound to succeed!"

Eddie made his decision.

If he didn't use the potion, obtaining such a rare item would have been pointless. Regardless of the outcome, not using it would be wasteful.

With his mind made up, Eddie summoned Greninja and immediately used the Ability Capsule on him.
