Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Fulfilling Desires

After bidding farewell to Rina, Rex wasted no time and headed straight to the police station.

When Rex arrived at the police station, it was only 8:30.

"Not bad, you actually came early this time. But why do you always wander around? Every time I come to find you, I can never locate you!"

Officer Jenny, seeing Rex enter, glanced at the clock on the wall and couldn't help but tease him.

"Sorry, Officer Jenny. I was training with Tailow at the outskirts of Orange Forest yesterday and didn't return until it was dark."

Rex scratched his head awkwardly after hearing Officer Jenny's teasing. After all, he was the one who asked for help, but as the person involved, he disappeared without a trace, which was somewhat inappropriate.

"Alright, I won't tease you anymore! Yesterday, I contacted Jiro-sama and explained to him that you wanted to buy Jiro Farm. However, he didn't immediately agree and wants to talk to you in person. The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m."

Officer Jenny explained the situation.

Rex was a bit puzzled, not knowing what Jiro wanted to discuss.

However, since the other party had a request, he could only wait for their arrival and then respond accordingly.

Before long, a white-haired but kind-faced old man walked in.

Needless to say, this must be Jiro.

"Jiro-sama, you're here!"

Officer Jenny hurried forward to greet him.

Of course, Rex wouldn't just sit foolishly in his seat; he followed suit to greet him.

"Are you the young man who wants to buy my farm, Rex?"

After scrutinizing Rex for a while, Jiro asked directly.

"Yes, Jiro-sama, I want to buy your farm!"

Rex could only answer politely.

"You should give up. Managing a farm is not an easy task, and it's not something a child like you can handle."

Jiro straightforwardly refused Rex.

In fact, when he received Officer Jenny's call, he had already decided to refuse.

But in order not to let Rex feel too upset, he decided to come in person today to refuse him.

"Why is that? I believe I can manage the farm well."

Rex certainly wouldn't give up his plan just because of Jiro's words.

"Oh, since you're so confident, how about a Pokémon battle with me? If you can defeat me, I'll give you this opportunity, how about it?"

Seeing Rex's persistence, Jiro thought of giving him a lesson to let him know his limits.

"No problem. If I lose, then I have no face to ask you to sell me the farm."

Rex readily agreed to Jiro's proposal to use a Pokémon battle to decide whether to sell the farm to him.

"Very good, young people should have such determination. Then, Officer Jenny, please be our referee!"

Seeing Rex agree so readily, Jiro's good impression of him increased greatly, and he turned to Officer Jenny and said.

"No problem, the venue is in the backyard of the police station. Follow me."

Seeing Jiro wanting to use a Pokémon battle to let Rex know his limits, Officer Jenny also showed an excited expression.

She knew that Rex's Tailow's strength was not bad, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to lead him out of the Orange Forest.

"Both sides will engage in a 1v1 Pokémon battle until one Pokémon is unable to battle or surrenders. The match starts now!"

As Officer Jenny's words fell, both of them summoned their Pokémon onto the field.

The Pokémon released by Jiro was a large Mightyena.

This was a Dark-type Pokémon, an evolved form of Poochyena. It looked majestic and had a fierce appearance.

After appearing, Mightyena directly released a pressure towards Tailow.

Rex knew this was Mightyena's Intimidate ability, which could make the opponent feel intimidated and reduce their attack power.

However, Tailow had experienced many battles and even defeated the Usaring. How could it be afraid of the pressure from a Mightyena? It struggled a bit and broke free from Mightyena's pressure.

"Not bad, your Tailow can actually break free from Mightyena's Intimidate!"

Jiro, seeing this scene, couldn't help but praise.

"Mightyena, use Snarl!"

With Jiro's command, Mightyena emitted a terrifying aura full of malice and enveloped Tailow.

"Tailow, show your resilience and use Arial Ace!"

Rex didn't choose to evade, as the range of Snarl was too large.

Tailow, like lightning, endured the damage from Snarl and pecked directly at Mightyena's body.

This time, Tailow didn't hold back; it used all its strength. Mightyena, after taking this blow, flew out and fell heavily to the ground.

"Mightyena, are you okay!"

Hearing Jiro's call, Mightyena struggled to get up. Eventually, with its resilience, it managed to stand up, but it was panting heavily.

"Alright, come back, Mightyena!"

Contrary to Rex's expectations, Jiro chose not to let Mightyena continue the battle.

"Sigh, it seems that I'm really old. If I were younger, I would definitely show you some colors!"

Seemingly to cover up the embarrassment just now, Jiro said loudly to Rex.

"Yes, yes, you are letting me win. Otherwise, I wouldn't stand a chance!"

Seeing this scene, Rex could only flatter along with Jiro's words.

He dared not act arrogantly at this moment, otherwise, if he angered Jiro, who would sell him the farm.

"Originally, I wanted to reject you for wanting to buy my farm at such a young age!"

Jiro said solemnly to Rex.

"Cough!"

After coughing, he continued:

"My farm is near the Orange Forest, and wild Pokémon often run into my farm to cause trouble. If you don't have a certain level of strength, you won't be able to protect yourself when danger comes."

At this point, Rex finally understood why Jiro refused to sell the farm to him. In plain terms, it was also for his own good, not wanting him to get into trouble.

"However, I just tested the strength of your Pokémon, and it's acceptable. It should be able to ensure your safety. But you mustn't take it lightly, understand?"

At this point, Jiro had actually agreed to sell the farm to Rex.

"I understand, Jiro-sama. I will pay attention to safety later. Please rest assured!"

Seeing that Jiro had changed his attitude, Rex quickly assured him.

After that, the two completed the transaction of the farm under the witness of Officer Jenny.

Perhaps due to his fondness for Rex, Jiro lowered the price of the farm to 380,000 Alliance coins and even offered to give him the furniture he had used before.

Of course, Rex was very grateful!

After the transaction was completed, Rex's Alliance coins were only over 100,000, but he was still satisfied.

"Congratulations, our little farmer!"

After Jiro left, Officer Jenny congratulated Rex.

"Thank you very much, Officer Jenny, for your help. Otherwise, I might not have been able to complete the transaction!"

If it weren't for Officer Jenny contacting Jiro, Rex could guess that with his age of only 11, Jiro would definitely refuse the transaction directly.

As Jiro still needed a few days to deal with the final matters of the farm, he asked Rex to move in three days later.

Rex naturally had no objection to this request. He could use these few days to understand the operating mode of nearby farms and how he should manage the farm in the future.

Of course, when he wanted to buy the farm, he had already considered several Pokémon he could raise, such as Miltank, Mareep, and Combee.

Miltank's Moo Moo Milk was very popular.

Mareep could produce wool.

Combee could collect honey.

These were all profitable, but unfortunately, Pokémon like Miltank were expensive, and he wasn't sure if he could afford them.

Compared to other farms, he was now just getting started and had to plan carefully; otherwise, his savings wouldn't last long.
