Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Yuli Terada

"Officer Jenny, I'm here!"

Today was the second day Rex asked Officer Jenny for help in finding an employee. After lunch, Rex went to the police station.

This was the time agreed upon by him and Officer Jenny, regardless of whether there were any results.

"You've come at the right time. There's progress in finding a farm employee that you asked me to help with!"

As Rex walked in, Officer Jenny spoke up right away.

"Really? Officer Jenny, you're amazing!"

Rex was genuinely surprised. He hadn't expected Officer Jenny to be so efficient.

"What's the big deal? Besides, you've helped me out too!"

Officer Jenny smiled mysteriously.

"Oh, how so?"

"I won't tell you just yet. Let me first talk about your Fire Stone. It's been tested by professionals and the quality is good. The buyer is offering 150,000 Alliance Coins for it. What do you think?"

Rex was a bit surprised by the price offered, but overall he was satisfied.

According to his knowledge, the price of Fire Stones ranged from 50,000 to 200,000 Alliance Coins. The fluctuation was mainly due to the quality of the Fire Stone.

The higher the quality, the greater the help it provided to evolving Pokémon, hence the higher price.

Selling it for 150,000 Alliance Coins indicated that the quality of this Fire Stone was at least good, but it was still considered ordinary among the higher quality ones.

"I'm already very happy with this price. Why would I have any objections?"

Rex replied honestly.

"Alright, I'll buy your Fire Stone!"

After smiling at Rex, Officer Jenny made her decision.

"Oh, Officer Jenny, please don't deliberately raise the price to buy my Fire Stone, otherwise I won't sell it!"

Thinking that Officer Jenny wanted to help him by purchasing the Fire Stone at a high price, Rex was worried.

"Don't be surprised, Rex. I'm not doing this to help you. I'm buying the Fire Stone to use for evolving my Growlithe. If your Fire Stone doesn't meet the standard, I won't buy it. I've been wanting a high-quality Fire Stone for a long time, so you've actually helped me out!"

Hearing Officer Jenny's explanation, Rex realized that her standard Pokémon was a Growlithe.

Growlithe was extremely loyal to trainers, brave and reliable in nature, and had a very keen sense of smell, making it the perfect choice for a police dog.

And Growlithe needed a Fire Stone to evolve into Arcanine, a powerful Pokémon with a base stat total of 555.

"In that case, I'm glad I could help you, Officer Jenny."

As long as Officer Jenny wasn't deliberately inflating the price to buy his Fire Stone, Rex accepted the deal.

After completing the transaction, Rex felt relieved. He had already spent most of his Alliance Coins.

"Hello, Officer Jenny, I'm here!"

At that moment, a tall and beautiful girl walked in. She looked to be about 15 or 16 years old.

"Yuli, you're just in time. I was about to introduce you to Rex!"

Officer Jenny seemed very familiar with the girl, and they had the kind of casual relationship that only old acquaintances had.

"This is the employee I introduced to you. Her name is Yuli Terada, an orphan from the town's orphanage. She's 15 years old this year and is looking for a job related to raising Pokémon. Since you're looking for someone to take care of your Mareep, I told her about it, and Yuli seemed interested, so I asked her to come and meet you today."

Officer Jenny briefly introduced Yuli Terada's situation to Rex.

"Hello, Miss Terada, I'm Rex, you can call me Rex."

Rex greeted Yuli Terada with a smile.

"Hello, Rex, you can just call me Yuli. My dream is to become a Pokémon breeder. I didn't have much chance to interact with Pokémon at the orphanage, but I've read a lot of books about Pokémon breeding."

Yuli Terada introduced herself openly, and her eyes seemed to light up when she talked about becoming a Pokémon breeder.

"I have no objections to hiring Miss Terada, but I need to make some things clear in advance. My farm has just started, so I can only offer you 3,000 Alliance Coins per month, and my farm is located in the wild, with some degree of danger. You'll need to consider these factors carefully."

Rex was generally satisfied with Yuli Terada, but he needed to clarify the situation on his farm. Otherwise, if she wasn't satisfied later and he had to find someone else, it would waste time.

"I have no objections, but I have a small request. Could you help me capture a starter Pokémon?"

Yuli Terada seemed a bit embarrassed when she made her request.

"That's no problem at all. My farm is adjacent to Orange Forest, so I can take you to catch a starter Pokémon."

Rex had no objections to Yuli Terada's request. Even if she hadn't mentioned it, he would have asked her to catch a Pokémon.

Later, when Yuli Terada would be alone on the farm, she would need Pokémon to defend against wild Pokémon if they appeared.

"Now that you both agree, let's sign the contract!"

Seeing that the two had already reached an agreement, Officer Jenny took out the contract that she had prepared earlier and asked them to sign it.

After signing the employment contract, Yuli Terada officially became a member of Rex Farm.

Rex and Yuli Terada agreed to meet at the Pokémon Center the next morning and then head to Rex Farm.

Now that his wallet was a bit more abundant, Rex began another round of purchases.

First, he bought a set of power generation equipment, along with some accompanying products such as electric lights and sockets. After all, he needed electricity to charge his phone.

This power generation equipment could generate electricity by pedaling, and it could also be charged using Electric-type Pokémon.

Rex's house didn't have any high-power electrical appliances yet, so pedaling for about half an hour for lighting and phone charging was enough. It could also serve as a form of exercise.

Afterwards, he ordered another batch of Moomoo Milk from the Yezawa Breeding House. Yes, Rex had ordered 10 Mareep Pokémon eggs.

He had already kept the business card of the Yezawa Breeding House, so he just needed to call and place the order.

With this, aside from the shiny Mareep, Rex Farm would have a total of 15 Mareep Pokémon. When they started producing wool, they would bring in a considerable income every week.

For now, Rex only intended to raise this many Mareep. Having more might overwhelm Yuli Terada's ability to care for them.

After all, Pokémon weren't like the cattle and horses he had raised in his previous life. They had high intelligence, and if they were dissatisfied with their living environment, they might run away.

And as for forcibly confining Pokémon, if it were discovered, not only would the Pokémon be confiscated, but the person responsible would also face consequences.

Finally, Rex went to the supermarket and purchased enough food. With that, he had completed this round of purchases.

The next morning, when Rex arrived at the

Pokémon Center lobby, he found Yuli standing there with a package, waiting.

"Sorry to keep you waiting!"

Rex hurriedly apologized as he approached.

"It's okay, I came early, Boss!"

Yuli had indeed arrived half an hour earlier than the agreed time.

Afterwards, Rex put Yuli's package into his space backpack, filling it up completely.

Fortunately, the power generation equipment and Moomoo Milk would be delivered to the farm by the store; otherwise his space backpack wouldn't be able to fit everything.

The two of them walked for about two hours before finally arriving at Rex Farm.

However, Rex was somewhat surprised that despite walking for such a long time, Yuli didn't complain. Her stamina was good, and she didn't ask for a rest.

"Yuli, you have good stamina!"

Rex asked directly, expressing his doubts.

"When I was at the orphanage, I used to run around with my younger brothers and sisters all the time, so this distance is nothing to me."

When talking about her younger brothers and sisters, a touch of tenderness flashed in Yuli's eyes.

Rex knew that Yuli had grown up in an orphanage, so he didn't inquire further about her situation there. It seemed that she hadn't been lonely at the orphanage.
