Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Pokémon Battle

After taking a shower for himself, Rex also bathed Tailow. At first, Tailow was a bit resistant, but later found it unable to resist and quietly closed its eyes to enjoy it.

After changing into new clothes, Rex looked at himself in the mirror and couldn't help but feel very satisfied with his current figure and appearance.

After having dinner at the Pokémon Center's cafeteria, Rex and Tailow were both very satisfied with the food. Compared to the grilled meat he had eaten before, this was what normal people should eat.

During this time, Rex also had Nurse Joy check Tailow's body.

After Nurse Joy's examination, it was found that Tailow was very healthy, perhaps overly so.

Seeing how well Rex had raised Tailow, and thinking about the background of the boy introduced by Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy suddenly felt very fond of the boy and resolved to take good care of him in the future.

Lying on the soft bed, Rex turned over comfortably.

"This is the life that humans should have!"

In a moment of emotion, Rex fell asleep heavily.

Tailow slept beside him. Everything in the human town was unfamiliar to it, but as long as it could stay by Rex's side, it would feel at ease.

The next morning, sunlight shone through the curtains onto Rex's face, and he opened his somewhat drowsy eyes, then stretched his hands high and yawned.

For Rex, last night was the most comfortable night's sleep since he crossed over.

Without lingering in bed, Rex got up directly, then opened the curtains to let the sunlight into the room.

Tailow, who heard the movement, also woke up. This night was also very peaceful for it.

After a brief wash, Rex took Tailow to the front desk.

"Good morning, Officer Jenny!"

Seeing that Officer Jenny had already started working, Rex smiled and greeted her.

"Good morning, Rex!"

Officer Jenny smiled back at Rex.

"You haven't had breakfast yet, right? Hurry to the cafeteria; the food is ready."

"Okay, thank you!"

When Rex arrived at the cafeteria, there were already some trainers staying at the Pokémon Center having breakfast.

After receiving a portion of human food and a portion of Pokémon food, Rex found a seat by the window and sat down, then began eating with Tailow.

While eating, Rex looked at the scenery outside, the people and Pokémon coming and going, and he enjoyed this kind of life in front of him.

Although, when he watched Pokémon anime before, he also fantasized about traveling around, challenging gyms, and obtaining badges.

Then participating in various regional Pokémon competitions, becoming the champion after winning, and challenging the Elite Four.

However, after struggling to survive for this period of time, his thoughts had faded somewhat, or temporarily faded now.

As a teenager with adult thoughts, he had passed the time when he could live on dreams alone. He needed to plan his future path.

Find a path for sustainable development, so that he could have the ability to support himself and his Pokémon.

Only after getting rid of these worries could he have the free time to pursue his dreams.

"Hello, would you like to have a Pokémon battle?"

At this moment, a clear voice interrupted Rex's thoughts.

Rex turned his face and saw a girl in a light green dress standing next to him, shyly asking him.

At this point, Rex and Tailow had already finished breakfast, so they didn't refuse the battle invitation.

Rex looked at the somewhat shy girl in front of him, smiled and nodded:

"No problem, but I'm not very familiar with the rules of the battle. Could you please explain them to me?"

After the girl saw that Rex agreed to the battle request, she visibly relaxed.

"I'm called Rina, you can just call me Rina. I'm a rookie trainer who just set out on a journey this year. Let's have a 1v1 Pokémon battle, okay?"

"No problem, I'm called Rex, you can call me Rex. I only have Tailow as my Pokémon now, so we can only have a 1v1 battle."

Then, Rex followed the girl to the competition venue in the backyard of the Pokémon Center. Since it was still early in the day, no one was using the venue yet.

Since there was no referee, the two agreed that the match would end as soon as one side admitted defeat.

"Come out, Treecko!"

The girl was obviously a regular League trainer, and the Pokémon she held was Treecko, one of the three starters in the Hoenn region. This kind of Pokémon was controlled by the League and was distributed to eligible rookie trainers by the Pokémon professor every year.

Seeing Treecko being released, Rex could feel a vigorous vitality, indicating that it had been well trained.

"Go, Tailow!"

At this point, Rex also sent out Tailow onto the field.

"Are you ready?"

"Ready."

After both sides were ready, the girl gave the command first:

"Treecko, use Leer!"

After the girl's command was issued, Treecko's eyes became sharp, and a normal-type energy enveloped Tailow, temporarily reducing its defense.

"Tailow, use Quick Attack!"

Since it was just a normal match, Rex didn't immediately use all his strength.

Tailow turned into a bolt of lightning and directly rushed towards Treecko.

"Treecko, dodge quickly!"

Unfortunately, Tailow was much faster than Treecko. Before Treecko could react, it had already knocked Treecko away.

"Don't give up, Treecko, use your perseverance!"

After hearing the girl's encouragement, Treecko still stood up swaying, but it had already suffered some injuries.

"Treecko, use Quick Attack to approach Tailow, then use Pound!"

After receiving the command, Treecko also turned into lightning and rushed towards Tailow's position.

"Tailow, use Peck!"

When Treecko swung its tail to hit Tailow, Rex also gave the command.

Only on the field, Tailow was faster, directly pecking Treecko's body.

With this blow, Treecko fell to the ground and couldn't move, obviously losing its combat effectiveness.

"Treecko, are you okay?"

Seeing Treecko unable to get up after falling to the ground, the girl quickly admitted defeat and then ran over to check Treecko's condition.

"Squawk, squawk!"

Seeing the opponent already lying on the ground, Tailow did not attack again, apparently remembering Rex's words last time.

"You should take Treecko to Nurse Joy for a check-up!"

"Oh, I see!"

With Rex's reminder, the girl remembered to take Treecko to be treated, and hurriedly took Treecko to Nurse Joy's direction.

"How is it, is Treecko okay?"

After a while, Rex walked slowly to the girl's side and asked.

"It's nothing serious, just need a little treatment."

The girl nervously said to Rex.

"That's good, I hope we have the opportunity to battle again in the future, goodbye!"

"Goodbye!"

Seeing that Treecko was okay, Rex didn't plan to accompany the girl waiting for Treecko to finish treatment in the Pokémon Center. After bidding her farewell, he left the Pokémon Center.

Although Nurse Joy asked him not to run around in the Pokémon Center, Rex didn't know how long it would take for her to verify his identity. He couldn't just wait around like this.

So, Rex planned to wander around and get familiar with this small town.

While Rex was aimlessly wandering the streets, he unconsciously came to a billboard.

There were some notices posted on it,

Some requested trainers to help drive away wild Pokémon that had sneaked into the orchard to eat fruits,

Some recruited people to do farm work,

Some were looking to buy items,

And so on.

The contact information and remuneration of the task issuers were also detailed above, of course, some were marked as remuneration negotiable.

This way of posting tasks was very novel, and for Rex, it was also a way to make money.

Some of the tasks above he could totally do, such as driving away invading wild Pokémon, he believed Tailow could totally handle it.

Suddenly, one message caught his attention, it said that a Farm wanted to sell.

This farm was very large, including a large piece of land, about 20 square kilometers, and what was being sold also included the houses and facilities on the land, for a price of 400,000 Alliance coins.

Although, for the sparsely populated Pokémon world, outdoor land was not very valuable, but Rex felt that buying such a large piece of land at this price was still very cost-effective.

When he saw the farm, he didn't know if it was the influence of his gardening genes, but Rex thought about whether he could buy it and start a farming career.

If he could buy the Farm, then he would have a completely his own territory in this world, he could use his own hands to turn this place into his paradise.
