Chapter 91: Ch-91
In the picture—
[When the waterspout broke through the ice, the audience around the world saw a huge silver Pokémon.]
[Its belly was light blue, its tail fin was blue, and the rest of its body was white.]
[The lower jaw had fangs, and there was a blue, mask-like structure around its eyes.]
[Its wings resembled huge hands.]
When this silver Pokémon appeared before the global audience, trainers all over the world were stunned and surprised.
Gongmen Stadium audience seats—
"What is this Pokémon?!"
"I've never seen it before!"
"So majestic... it looks so powerful!"
"What is this? What Pokémon is this?!"
The audience was in awe as they beheld this massive, silver Pokémon.
Kanto Region, Team Rocket Headquarters—
"This... this Pokémon!!"
When the silver Pokémon appeared, Team Rocket Executive Archer stood frozen in shock, staring at the screen in disbelief. His eyes widened like copper bells.
"Unbelievable... I thought it was just a legend, but it's real!"
Team Rocket Executive Ariana swallowed hard, her gaze fixed on the silver Pokémon.
"I should have known! When the three sacred birds of the Orange Islands went berserk, the Pokémon said to control the ocean currents would appear!"
Boss Giovanni stroked Persian's fur as his initially shocked expression turned calm and contemplative.
Anyone familiar with Kanto Region history would know of the Whirl Islands on the 41st waterway between Johto's mainland and Cianwood City. The islands, surrounded by whirlpools, could only be reached with powerful sailing Pokémon.
Long ago, the Whirl Islands were a single massive island, but disputes between two nations led to its division. Disappointed by humanity's greed, the silver Pokémon intervened, striking the land with lightning to divide it into four smaller islands. It then vanished into the depths of the waterfall, awaiting a time when trust between humans and Pokémon might be restored.
Moreover, legends said if the three sacred birds that maintain climate order went out of control, this Pokémon would awaken to restore balance.
Now, Giovanni realized the truth.
"Gilluta's ambitions are massive," he muttered.
Gongmen Stadium Champion Guest Seat—
"What... what Pokémon is this?!"
Chibana was dumbfounded.
"I... I don't know," Diantha admitted, staring at the silver Pokémon in awe.
Something about it felt deeply connected to justice, unlike the destructive power of Oblivion Wing from Kalos Region legends.
After a long silence, the audience turned to Professor Oak for answers.
Professor Oak explained:
"Lugia. I can't believe it... the Pokémon we see before us is Lugia!"
"This is a legendary Pokémon, akin to Ho-Oh. It is the guardian of the Johto Region and controls the ocean currents and global weather. This is the legendary super-beast Pokémon—Lugia!"
The revelation left Professor Oak and the global audience in shock.
Team Rocket Headquarters—
As Lugia's identity became clear, Team Rocket's Executives pieced together the truth.
"So that's it. Gilluta's true target isn't the God of Fire, Moltres, nor the God of Thunder, Zapdos, nor the God of Ice, Articuno. It's Lugia, the God of Ocean Currents—a Pokémon of legendary rarity from Johto!"
Executive Archer was stunned at Gilluta's audacity.
"His ambitions are astronomical," he muttered.
Even Giovanni couldn't help but smirk.
"Lugia, the guardian of Johto, possesses unimaginable power over the world's oceans and currents. If Gilluta succeeds in capturing it... the consequences would be catastrophic."
Hoenn Region, Water Fleet Headquarters—
"The legendary Pokémon that controls ocean currents?" Archie, leader of the Water Fleet, grinned wickedly.
"Interesting... I wonder how it relates to Kyogre," he mused.
"But it doesn't matter. Anything tied to the ocean belongs to us! Hahaha!"
Kalos Region, Team Flare Base—
Touching Pyroar's red mane, Lysandre, leader of Team Flare, observed Lugia's appearance with a faint smile.
"What a remarkable Pokémon... unlike the sacred birds, this is a force worth pursuing," he thought, intrigued.
Palace Gate Stadium—
While villainous organizations viewed Lugia as an opportunity, the Regional Champion Trainers saw it as a savior.
"Thank goodness... our Johto Region is saved!"
Johto Champion Dodrio exclaimed, relief washing over him.
Wallace, fascinated by Lugia, added, "A Pokémon that controls ocean currents? It must be a Water-type Pokémon!"
Professor Oak hesitated before answering Wallace, sensing the complexity of Lugia's abilities.
"But isn't Lugia from the Johto Region? How did it get to the Orange Islands?" Diantha wondered aloud.
Professor Oak explained, "The waters of the Whirl Islands and the Orange Islands are connected. Lugia must have come to save the Orange Islands."
This explanation brought joy to the audience.
Professor Oak reflected, "A century ago, Lugia withdrew from humanity, disillusioned by greed and war. Yet now, it emerges to protect the Orange Islands and its residents, showing it hasn't entirely abandoned hope in humanity."
The appearance of Lugia rekindled hope across the world. Its actions demonstrated the gentle yet immense power of a protector, reminding humanity of the bond they could share with Pokémon.
