Pokemon: My Fate System Is Too Overpowered!!

Chapter 38: Chapter 37: Rock Essence in Hand

"it's all a misunderstanding! I was just joking!"

Takeda Ryo immediately backpedaled, panic flashing across his face.

His heart pounded.

He knew Fujiwara Daiki had the authority to arrest him—and he couldn't afford to go to jail.

But Daiki simply held up the video camera in his hand.

"Sorry," he said, his tone calm but firm. "I got it all on tape. I'll be handing this over to the police."

Takeda Ryo's face went pale.

How had this happened?

He had been careful, hadn't he? How had Daiki known?

His ambush had turned into a trap.

And now, he was finished.

---

Daiki wasn't in the mood to argue.

"Electivire," he ordered, "Thunder."

BOOM.

The sky crackled with electricity.

A massive bolt of lightning shot down, illuminating the forest for a split second.

Takeda Ryo's Pokémon never stood a chance.

They were all Gym-level, while Daiki's Electivire was Champion-level.

The sheer force of the attack instantly knocked out every single one of them.

Had Electivire gone all out, they wouldn't have just fainted—they'd have been reduced to ash.

A shudder ran down Takeda Ryo's spine.

He had underestimated what it meant to fight an Elite.

His knees buckled.

And the next thing he knew—

THWACK.

Something hard hit the back of his head.

His vision blurred.

His body collapsed onto the ground.

And then—

Darkness.

Daiki blinked.

Ryuu was holding a shovel.

"Wait a minute..." Daiki narrowed his eyes. "You knocked him out?"

Ryuu shrugged, adjusting his grip on the shovel.

"He let his guard down," he said simply.

Daiki's expression grew even more suspicious.

"Son, have you... done this before?"

Ryuu tilted his head.

"Done what?"

"You know... knocking people out so efficiently."

Ryuu blinked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean," Daiki frowned, "you swung that shovel a little too well—"

"Alright, enough of that!" Ryuu interrupted, stepping over Takeda Ryo's unconscious body.

He was way more interested in what was inside the guy's bag.

And sure enough—

There it was.

A glowing stone, faint light rippling across its surface.

Rock Essence.

Ryuu grinned.

"Wow," he mused. "This guy really was lucky."

Daiki crossed his arms, nodding.

"Yeah. The idiot thought he was just picking up a random rock."

Ryuu smirked.

"Well, his loss is my gain."

He slipped the Rock Essence into his own bag.

"Alright," Daiki sighed, stretching. "I'll call the cops and have him locked up."

Ryuu nodded.

Technically speaking, Rock Essence was stolen property.

It was supposed to be handed over to the authorities.

But...

Who would actually give away something this rare?

They had decided, purely out of moral obligation, that this would be compensation for Ryuu's "emotional distress."

Because, really—Takeda Ryo owed him.

Ryuu grinned.

"Hey, Dad. Make sure they send him somewhere with, uh... 'friendly' inmates."

Daiki raised an eyebrow.

"You want him to pick up soap or something?"

Ryuu shrugged.

"Just making sure he's well taken care of."

Daiki stared at him.

Then, after a long pause—

He sighed.

"...Alright, whatever you say."

---

Half a day later, Takeda Ryo was behind bars.

And Ryuu and Daiki?

They headed home.

As soon as they stepped through the door, Fujiwara Sumire was already waiting.

Her eyes immediately locked onto Ryuu.

"You're late," she said, frowning.

Then, before Ryuu could respond—

She grabbed him by the shoulders.

Her sharp eyes scanned him from head to toe, checking for any injuries.

Ryuu sighed.

"Mom, I'm fine."

Sumire didn't let go.

"What about the guy who was following you?" she demanded.

Ryuu smiled innocently.

"Oh, him? He's in jail."

Sumire's expression didn't change.

But her grip tightened.

"...Jail?"

"Yeah," Ryuu said. "Picking up soap, probably."

Silence.

Then—

"WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT YOUR JOKES?!"

Yank.

Ryuu yelped as Sumire grabbed his ear.

"Ow—ow—MOM!"

"You disappear for hours, come back talking about criminals, and think this is funny?!"

"IT WAS DAD'S IDEA!"

Sumire whipped around.

Her glare locked onto Daiki.

"...Daiki."

Daiki froze.

Ryuu grinned.

The next thing Daiki knew—

His own ear was being pulled.

"OW—WHY ME?!"

"Because YOU TAUGHT HIM THIS!"

Ryuu snickered.

Sumire's grip tightened.

Ryuu stopped snickering.

---

Later that night, Ryuu sat in his room, grinning to himself.

In his hands was a glowing Rock Essence.

Aron cuddled against him, making happy little noises.

"Alright, little guy," Ryuu said, stroking its metallic head. "This'll be yours soon."

Aron nuzzled him, purring softly.

But not yet.

Right now, Aron was still a newborn.

It needed time to develop before absorbing the Rock Essence.

One more week.

Then, with proper training, Aron would grow even stronger.

Ryuu glanced at his bag.

Inside was a container filled with high-quality Energy Cubes, along with several chunks of ore and stone.

Aron would need plenty of minerals to grow properly.

Luckily—

Ryuu's family was rich.

Normal people couldn't afford to raise big eaters like Aron.

But Ryuu?

He had the funds to raise an entire army.

"Alright," he murmured, holding Aron close. "Let's make you even stronger."

Aron chirped happily.

Ryuu grinned.

---

One Week Later

Seven days passed.

Aron had officially passed its newborn stage.

And now?

It was time to begin training.

And the first step—

Absorbing the Rock Essence.
