Pokemon: Radical Redux

Chapter 400: Pokémon Heroes - 6

Gorigan roared and grabbed a Poké Ball from his belt, "Aggron, get rid of this annoyance!"

With a flash, Aggron jumped out. The floor cracked beneath its weight, its roar shaking dust from the rafters. It slammed its tail down, sending sparks flying.

Ash narrowed his eyes and pointed, "Dragonair, you take care of this."

The dragon Pokémon uncoiled from around Ash's torso and slithered forward, her crystalline eyes locked on the towering Aggron. Her body shimmered with energy, light glinting off her scales as she hovered gracefully in the air. She didn't flinch.

Pikachu and Vee darted to the side, flanking Ash. "Pika!" Pikachu growled, cheeks sparking.

Vee bared his fangs, hissing low as two Cipher grunts rushed in to back up their boss.

"Pikachu, Vee, you've got those two," Ash ordered without breaking eye contact with Gorigan. "Don't let them get close."

"Vee!"

"Pikachu!"

The two launched forward, Vee hitting a grunt's Mightyena with a fast [Quick Attack], while Pikachu lit up the museum walls with a [Electro Ball] to stop a Weavile.

Back at the center of the ruined museum, Aggron snarled and stomped forward. "[Stone Edge!]" Gorigan bellowed.

Spiked pillars of jagged stone erupted from the ground and lunged toward Dragonair.

"Dodge with [Agility]!" Ash shouted.

Dragonair glowed with a silvery-blue light and weaved between the [Stone Edge], getting past them and appearing in front of Aggron.

Ash waved his arm, "Now [Dragon Pulse]!"

Dragonair opened her mouth and fired a purple fire, slamming into Aggron's plated chest with a burst of light. The blast pushed Aggron back a few feet, skidding across the cracked tiles, but it barely flinched.

Aggron's red eyes flared as the smoke cleared, armor barely scratched. "[Heavy Slam!]" Gorigan roared.

Aggron lunged, throwing its entire massive frame forward like a living battering ram.

"[Twister!]" Ash countered

Dragonair spun midair and whipped her long body, summoning a cyclone that burst upward between them. The swirling wind slowed Aggron's charge, but didn't stop it. Aggron pushed through the gale, teeth gritted, until it broke through and struck Dragonair with the sheer weight of its armored body.

She cried out and hit the floor hard, cracking the stone beneath her.

But Ash didn't panic. He called out, "Now, quick, [Aqua Tail]!"

Dragonair opened her eyes and spun her body, swiping the big thing's legs and knocking it off its feet, sending it crashing down on its head.

Gorigan grit his teeth. "You… tch no matter, you can't win."

Ash narrowed his eyes. He was definitely at a disadvantage here, Aggron resisted Dragonair's moves, and Aggron was stronger. And that's not even counting what was happening with his body. He was tired, barely moving, the only reason he was standing was that he was forcing his body to move with Aura.

But then again, when did that ever stop him? He looked over to the side and saw Pikachu and Vee had already taken care of the grunts. He smirked, Since he was going to take care of the rest.

{Meanwhile}

Brock headed straight for the city's clock tower, where a squad of Cipher agents was setting up a relay antenna. He narrowed his eyes and pointed, "Aerodactyl, [Rock Slide], bring it down!"

Stones materialized in the sky and rained down over the grunt formation, scattering them and crushing the antenna.

Elsewhere, Yellow spotted a trio of Cipher grunts cornering a group of civilians in a plaza.

"Kitty, [Sleep Powder]!"

Butterfree sparkled, then released a gentle cloud of glittering pollen. The grunts coughed and staggered, then slumped to the ground, unconscious. Yellow swooped down and waved the civilians away.

"Go! Get to safety!"

Meanwhile, Misty had landed Gyarados on a bridge where Cipher agents were stationed with their Pokémon.

"Gyarados, let's make this quick! [Hydro Pump]!"

Gyarados roared and unleashed a blast of water, blasting the grunts and Pokémon back, knocking them out. But more were coming.

Misty jumped down and tossed out two more Poké Balls.

"Starmie, Psyduck, you're up!"

Starmie spun beside her with glowing energy, and Psyduck… well, he just stood there looking confused.

Misty laughed a little, "Okay, maybe that's on me, but come on, Psyduck. After what you've done, I know you're plenty strong. And you too, Starmie!"

Psyduck blinked as he looked ahead and took a breath. His eyes began glowing blue, he used [Psychic], and Starmie did the same.

The Cipher grunts paused.

"Wait… is that just a Psyd—"

They didn't finish.

The air shimmered with psychic energy as a powerful [Psychic] wave blasted out from Psyduck and Starmie, picking up everyone and slamming them down one after the other, Pokémon and people hitting the pavement.

"Great work!" Misty said, clapping her hands. "You really have gotten better, good work!"

Psyduck blushed, holding his cheeks and doing a little dance.

Meanwhile, back in the museum, Dragonair was panting hard, coiled low to the ground. Ash's hand trembled at her side, but he held his stance. He was tired, but he was slowly starting to get some feeling in his arms, he was starting to move his body.

Gorigan snarled, eyes blazing with fury. "Fine! You want more? HERE'S MORE!" He ripped another Poké Ball from his belt. "Ursaring, rip 'em apart!"

With a flash of red, the huge, snarling bear Pokémon came out, beating its chest and roaring loud enough to shake the rafters. Its claws gleamed as it stared straight at Dragonair.

Ash grit his teeth. He looked over at Pikachu and Vee, who were still taking care of more grunts trying to get in and take Latios and Latias, "Alright, Croconaw, you take care of this! You're up!"

Croconaw burst from his ball in front of Dragonair with a wild grin, his jaws snapping in excitement. "Croc-croconaw!"

Ursaring snarled and stomped forward.

"[Hammer Arm!]" Gorigan shouted.

"[Ice Fang!]" Ash countered.

The bear swung its arm down, but Croconaw leapt, icy fangs lighting up as he bit down on Ursaring's limb mid-swing. Frost shot up the arm, and Ursaring howled, yanking itself back and flinging Croconaw across the room.

Meanwhile, Dragonair flew past them, wrapping around Aggron's head and arm tightly, pulling it close as the large metal Pokémon thrashed around. Dragonair forced it to strike itself, but Aggron managed to grab onto her and threw her around like nunchucks against the wall.

Ash watched the battle, biting the bottom of his lip. He was at a disadvantage, he could probably end this right now, but Pikachu and Vee were busy.

As he thought through his options, suddenly he felt something.

bum bum bum

Ash blinked. He felt his heart start beating stronger. Looking at Dragonair and Croconaw, he saw them standing up too, brushing off the dust from their bodies and still moving.

It felt weird. It was different from what happened with Charizard, but not unpleasant. He felt like his body was starting to move again. He looked forward, and in his eyes, he didn't know how to explain it.

It was like a plan appeared in front of him, a path. A sequence of moves, a strategy. A path to win.

Ash smiled. "Alright then, I won't complain. Dragonair and Croconaw, get ready, let's do this."

Gorigan scowled. "Just stay down already, you BRAT!" He pointed forward as Ursaring and Aggron ran forward.

Ash took a breath. "Dragonair, fly up! Croconaw, grab on!"

Dragonair took off as Croconaw gripped the edge of her tail, picking up speed.

While Dragonair was flying closer, Ash commanded, "[Dragon Rush] and [Aqua Tail]!"

Gorigan immediately assumed he was targeting Aggron, the bigger threat. "Aggron, raise your arms to block it! Ursaring, get ready to grab them!"

Dragonair became cloaked in purple energy as she dashed forward, but Ash sent a mental message into her head using Aura:

'[Switch]'

So when she got close, she suddenly changed targets and slammed into Ursaring's chest, knocking the wind out of the bear and sending it flying backward.

Before Gorigan could even react, Dragonair flicked her tail, Croconaw still clinging on. He flipped through the air and slammed into the back of Aggron's head, knocking it forward.

Gorigan's eyes widened, but Ash didn't give him time to speak. "Now, switch again!"

Dragonair spun her body again, throwing Croconaw toward Ursaring and slamming into it, while she used her own momentum to fly toward Aggron, striking it again with her tail.

"Ursaring, get in there and stop them!" Gorigan howled. "[Thrash!]"

The massive bear was already charging, fury overtaking him. He barreled through fallen debris and let out a guttural roar, eyes locked on Croconaw.

Then Gorigan looked at Aggron. "[Thunder Punch] that stupid dragon!"

Aggron slammed its fists together as they crackled with electricity, locking onto Dragonair.

Ash smirked. "Not happening. [Fishious Rend], and Dragonair, [Dragon Rush]!"

All the Pokémon dashed at each other.

First, Ursaring came swinging wildly. Croconaw ran forward, jaws glowing. He leapt toward the bear and bit down on its neck, causing Ursaring to stumble mid-roar.

For a moment, it looked like Croconaw wasn't strong enough, and Ursaring would recover. But then, Croconaw began to glow.

He started to grow, his body stretching and expanding with glowing light.

Just like how it was with Silver… he evolved.

Still clamped on Ursaring's neck, Croconaw transformed, becoming a massive Feraligatr.

And also like what happened with Silver, with Feraligatr's new strength he spun and slammed the bear into the ground, making the whole area shake. Now there was a Ursaring-shaped hole in the floor.

On the other side, as Aggron pulled back his fist, Dragonair covered her body with purple energy and shot forward. They clashed in the center, Aggron's electric fist slamming into Dragonair's glowing head.

They pushed against each other, Dragonair's glowing body straining, her eyes narrowing as Aggron snarled and shoved back harder, armor grinding like tectonic plates. Sparks burst between them as energy surged through the clash point.

"Come on, you can do it!" Ash yelled, feeling his heartbeat thrum in his ears again. "Now, push through!"

Dragonair closed her eyes and took a breath. This is what she wanted, wasn't it? She wanted to be better, be stronger, be cuter, so her papa would love her more, and give her lots more cuddles. And right now, he believed in her. He expected her to win.

And that's what she was going to do!

Dragonair let out a cry, her tail coiling beneath her as she dug in with everything she had. Then the purple energy around her started turning gold, and she began to glow.

She got bigger. Her wings grew out, her body thickened, and her sleek blue scales turned bright orange.

There she was. A Dragonite.

Dragonite growled and let out a roaring battle cry as she pushed even harder, forcing Aggron back, its feet scraping against the ground, unable to hold position.

Then with one final push, Dragonite flew forward and slammed into Aggron.

The shockwave blasted dust across the museum, debris flying, and the foundation itself shook.

But when the dust cleared, Dragonite was standing tall over Aggron, breathing heavily, and let out another victorious roar toward Ash.

Ash smiled and clapped, "You guys did it!"

Meanwhile, Gorigan did not look happy. "No! You brat, that's it! You're not getting away with this! No way, no how, no ifs or buts!"

Gorigan reached for his belt to grab another Poké Ball, but in that second he looked away, Ash sprinted forward and punched him across the face.

Gorigan hit the ground from the surprisingly strong punch, by a kid. He was about to get up and throw hands, but Ash wasn't having it. He immediately kicked him in the face.

"Oh, you think we do that fair fight thing here? Nah, around here we double tap," Ash said as he kicked him across the jaw again.

Gorigan growled and caught the next kick, but Ash leaned in, pushed his palm into Gorigan's face, and kicked him in the jaw, knocking his goggles off.

As Gorigan fell back, rubbing his face, Ash grabbed his wrench and held it up, "Hey, this is a pretty nice wrench," he said, tossing it lightly.

Gorigan wiped his mouth and glared up at him. "Brat, give that back!"

Ash smiled. "Oh, you want it back? Alright…" He flipped the wrench, gripping it tight. "I'll give it to you, when I put it through your teeth!"

Ash swung the wrench, hitting Gorigan across the face.

The brute hit the ground again, but he didn't even get the luxury of a few seconds. Ash stomped on his head pushing him back into the ground, and with one final wrench swing across the teeth breaking a few, he was knocked out cold.

Ash looked down and tossed the wrench onto Gorigan's unconscious body, "That's for paralyzing me, you overgrown ape."

As the dust settled, the door to the museum burst open. Ash looked over and saw Bianca and Lorenzo standing there, with Misty, Brock, and Yellow behind them, all looking a little exhausted, clearly having dealt with their own share of Cipher grunts.

Ash gave a thumbs up. "Told you I'd be fine," he said, gesturing over to Latios and Latias. "And everyone is safe."

Collectively, they all yelled, "YOU IDIOT!"

They might have tackled him into a hug pile, if Dragonite didn't beat them to it. She scooped Ash up in a massive bear hug, wrapping him up tight

About two days later, they all finally got some much-needed sleep, well, Ash a little less, since now that Dragonite had arms, she spent all night hugging him. But he was used to it, so he got just enough sleep to not be completely sleep-deprived.

The police took care of the Cipher grunts and Gorigan, taking them away. There were some official congratulations and another celebration, but this one was just for them, held in the secret garden.

Even though the museum was damaged and the defense mechanism was destroyed, Lorenzo waved it off. Sure, it hurt him to see it, but in the end, it would always be dangerous to keep something like that. Besides, they had the better defense now: Latios and Latias.

Latios, by the way, got some much-needed healing from Ash and Yellow. That took so much out of them, they fell asleep on top of Latios, next to each other. And, well… no one had the heart to wake them up.

Ash took care of the boss, but Yellow pushed herself out of her comfort zone. They both deserved a rest.

Even if, admittedly, there was probably going to be some other crazy thing happening again soon.

As for Oakley and Annie? Yeah, no one could find them. They probably did the smart thing and left once they saw they were out of their league. That might be a problem for later… but then again, maybe not. Who knows? The events of this movie were confirmed to be canon, and Ash never saw them again. So… whatever.

Even though they could have stayed longer, and Bianca and Lorenzo did kind of insist, they had to go.

But this time, it wasn't Ash who pushed them to move on, It was Misty and Brock.

Which was surprising, since usually Misty will take any excuse she can to extend vacation time. But she didn't said why she wanted to leave.

She did, however, have something: another cruise ticket. This one went directly to Blackthorn City. She didn't say how she got it. But she had it.

So, the day came. Everyone was boarding the ship, Misty, Brock, and Yellow were already on it, along with Chuchu, Pikachu, and Vee. They were waiting for Ash.

Ash was walking up, hoping to at least say goodbye, hoping to find out if it was Bianca or Latias who kissed the original Ash in the movie. But Lorenzo was busy working on restoring the museum, and Bianca was probably repainting all the artwork that got destroyed.

Ash had just grabbed something, a little souvenir, and he spotted his friends waving to him.

"Come on, Ash! The boat is leaving!" Yellow called out, waving her hand.

Ash smiled. "Alright, coming!" he called back as he walked up toward the dock.

But just as he got there, he heard a voice.

"Hey! I hope you're not leaving without saying goodbye!"

Bianca's voice rang out behind him.

Ash turned around, and surprisingly, he saw Bianca. And next to her… was Latias, also disguised in her 'human' form.

"Oh. I'm surprised you came, I thought you were busy… also, should Latias be here looking like that… you know, next to you?"

Bianca waved her hand. "Nah, actually the twin idea you gave me was pretty good. So from now on, Latias is officially my sister when we go out for cake!" Latias nodded happily next to her.

Ash sighed but smiled. "Well, I'm glad you're happy, after everything that happened. But yeah… this is it. Maybe I'll come visit one day."

Bianca and Latias looked at each other, and shared a mischievous smile.

Bianca walked up holding a small drawing and placed it in Ash's hands.

"You better. Also… we never really thanked you for saving us. Like… three times? Probably more, I didn't keep count. So here you go."

Ash looked down at the drawing, assuming that's what she meant. But then, he suddenly felt something soft press against both his cheeks.

He blinked Bianca and Latias had each kissed one of his cheeks.

Ash stood frozen in place, completely stunned. Back on the ship, the gang was watching, and their mouths dropped open.

Brock was staring out to sea, totally not jealous that Ash got kissed, Misty and Yellow both quickly looked away, faces red, but for very different reasons.

Meanwhile, Chuchu, Pikachu, and Vee were having a very different reaction. They were settling bets.

Pikachu: "Pika!" [Ha! Told ya, I won the bet!]

Chuchu: "Pi…" [Noooo… I thought only one of them was gonna kiss him…]

Vee: "Vee…" [What do you mean? I thought neither of them were gonna do it. At least you were somewhat right.]

Pikachu: [Yep. You haven't been around Ash long enough. I know my boy better than anyone, he never lets me down!]

Back with Ash, he was still blinking. Bianca and Latias giggled, stuck their tongues out playfully, and ran off waving goodbye.

Ash was left standing there, holding the drawing. Yeah that didn't solve any mystery, he was really hoping he got to find out which one kissed Cannon Ash,

Finally, he stepped onto the ship, and as he did, he saw his friends staring at him.

He just said one thing, "Well… that happened."

And you know what? For the first time in three months, Misty really felt like slapping Ash.
