Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 424: Chapter 641: Phone Call

With Victor charging into the battlefield alongside his five Dragon-Type pseudo-legendaries—each at Pseudo-Champion level—they pinned down several of Wyvernia's Elite-level Pokémon.

Without the interference of these Elite-level Pokémon, Heatran instantly became like a tiger among sheep, relentlessly tearing through Wyvernia's army.

A single Flamethrower melted armored vehicles into molten slag.

The sheer heat radiating from its body caused bullets to liquefy before they could even reach it.

Wyvernia's Champion, Andrew, only had two Champion-level Pokémon—Landorus, currently locked in an aerial battle with Skarmory, and Hippowdon, struggling to hold its own against Aggron.

Even then, Hippowdon was at a disadvantage. Though Aggron couldn't easily finish it off, their clash was restrained—neither dared to unleash their full power, fearing collateral damage to their own forces.

This left Heatran completely unchecked—making it unstoppable on the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Drakoria had deployed two peak Pseudo-Champions: General Sam, commanding from the rear (ready to intervene if necessary), and Victor, who had already plunged into the fray.

John was held up by Andrew, but no one was left to stop Victor.

Wyvernia's forces, aside from Champion Andrew, had only brought a few Elites—no Pseudo-Champions.

Facing Victor—a peak Pseudo-Champion with five Dragon-type pseudo-legendaries—was like sending children to fight a war.

Why was Drakoria a superpower? Not just because of its Champions, but also its sheer number of Pseudo-Champions.

In Drakoria, the top 30 on the Elite rankings were all Pseudo-Champions. The top 10 were late-stage Pseudo-Champions, while the top 5 were peak-level.

But Wyvernia, aside from Andrew, only had two Pseudo-Champions total—one was Stephen, who was still back in the capital guarding Julian; the other was stationed at another border, monitoring their rival nation.

So neither could be mobilized for this battle.

They could only scrape together a few Elites—who'd already been pulled from other crucial posts inside the country.

In short, this fight was like a grown man beating up a child.

And this was with Drakoria's forces partially tied down by Celestria and Babath. Otherwise, sending just two more Champions would have ended the war instantly.

Half an hour later, Wyvernia's army had lost half its forces. Of the five Elite trainers sent, three had been killed by Victor, along with over a dozen Elite-level Pokémon.

As for Wyvernia's trainer corps? They were busy getting crushed by the Tenth Legion's own trainers.

The vice-commander of the Tenth Legion's trainer corps was a peak Elite-level trainer. Under his leadership, they slaughtered Wyvernia's trainer forces with brutal efficiency.

Meanwhile, Heatran, bored of crushing insignificant foes like ants, turned its attention toward Hippowdon, which was already being overwhelmed by Aggron.

If Heatran joined in too, it would be two-on-one. And since Hippowdon wasn't exactly known for its speed, it could very well fall here today.

Andrew absolutely couldn't afford to lose Hippowdon. Its death would cripple his overall strength, and besides—Landorus wasn't truly loyal to him. He had used certain underhanded methods to bind it, so its loyalty was shaky at best.

So Hippowdon had to survive.

Desperate, Andrew quickly pulled out his satellite phone and dialed a secure number.

---

Wyvernia, Havenburg

A Secret Military Base.

Julian had been brought here by Stephen, hooded during the entire journey to prevent him from memorizing the route. Only inside the heavily fortified facility was the hood removed.

Stephen grinned, "So? What do you think of your new home?"

"Nothing special."

What was there to see? Just a bunch of military equipment—not even a single woman around.

"You'll come to like it here eventually," Stephen said with a smirk. "Since if all goes well, you'll be staying for a long, long time."

They didn't plan to kill Julian. Keeping him alive was far more valuable.

Not only could they use Julian as a bargaining chip against John, and even Drakoria itself, but they could also use him to control his Pokémon. As long as Julian was in their hands, his Pokémon—even if unwilling—would have no choice but to serve them.

Beep—beep—beep!

Stephen's phone rang. Seeing Andrew's caller ID, he answered immediately.

"Where are you now?!"

Andrew's voice was frantic, nearly drowned out by explosions and Pokémon roars in the background.

"We're already at the secure location," Stephen replied immediately.

"Put Julian on the phone."

Stephen pressed the phone to Julian's ear.

"Hello?" Julian said lazily.

But what came through the line wasn't Andrew's voice, but a back-and-forth between Andrew and John.

---

On the battlefield, Andrew, using a megaphone to amplify his voice above the deafening artillery fire and Pokémon roars, shouted:

"John! Your grandson is on the line. If you want to hear his voice—CEASE FIRE NOW!"

Thanks to the megaphone, even with the chaos of battle, his voice reached John's ears—and the ears of most of the Drakorian troops on the front line.

"STOP!"

Hearing this, John immediately commanded his Pokémon to stop attacking.

Victor, General Sam, and the rest of the Drakorian forces all halted their assault as well.

Seeing Drakoria's side stop, Wyvernia's side naturally didn't dare keep firing—if they pushed it any further, they'd all be buried here today.

"Very good," Andrew sneered. "Don't try anything stupid. I won't kill your grandson… yet. But if you don't cooperate, there's nothing stopping me from taking a few 'spare' parts off him."

Andrew felt like the situation was back under his control—as if he had John completely at his mercy.

"Julian, you can speak now," Andrew said.

Back at the military base, Stephen leaned in and warned coldly, "Choose your words carefully. Tell your grandfather to surrender. Or I'll cut off your hand."

Then he pressed the phone back to Julian's ear.

"Grandpa."

The call, amplified through a loudspeaker, carried Julian's voice clearly to John's ears.

"My dear grandson!"

Finally hearing Julian's voice again, John finally felt a sliver of relief.

"Are you hurt?!"

"Grandpa, I'm fine."

Before John could say more, Andrew removed the phone from speaker and declared:

"John, I'll give you a choice: recall your Pokémon, lock their Poké Balls, and hand them over to me."

The moment these words left his mouth, Victor, General Sam, and every Drakorian soldier nearby tensed up, their faces darkening instantly.

'Despicable! Shameless!'

This was the only thought in every Drakorian soldier's mind about Andrew.

"If you don't agree, tomorrow I'll send you an arm. The day after that, maybe a leg. Your grandson's got plenty of spare parts—I can send them piece by piece."

"Such a talented grandson… You don't want anything to happen to him, do you?"

"As long as you give me your Pokémon, I'll let your grandson go."

No one would believe that for a second—unless they were a complete fool.

"What a piece of trash—f***ing bastard!" a Drakorian soldier cursed under his breath.

"Why is Champion Walker not saying anything? He… he's not going to agree to this, is he?"

"Tell me—what's more important? A grandson or Pokémon?"

The truth was, both were irreplaceable.

A grandson was family—blood and bone. But a Pokémon who'd grown with you, fought by your side, trusted you with its life? That was family too—sometimes even closer than blood.
