Chapter 55: Chapter 55: The Wrath of the Sea God
"You despicable fellows! It seems we've been too lenient with you!" the super-giant Tentacruel roared through Meowth, abandoning any thought of negotiating with the powerful Pokémon before it.
"You've really angered this big guy!" the Golden Pidgeot quipped.
"Speaking of which, when did you evolve, you silly bird?" Charizard glanced at Pidgeot, noticing that its aura was indeed much stronger. "I initially thought you were a new companion the Master had just caught! It seems you've been secretly training a lot, almost catching up to me."
"Don't call me that nickname anymore. I might not necessarily lose to you now!" Pidgeot said proudly.
"Look at you showing off. How about we spar after this?" Charizard chuckled.
"You guys chat, I'm going in first!"
The Blood-Red Gyarados let out a fierce roar, its Intimidate ability weakening the attack power of the giant Tentacruel and its minions. Then, with the accumulated power from its Moxie ability, it unleashed an Aqua Tail that forcefully repelled the colossal jellyfish.
"Good heavens!" Pidgeot exclaimed in shock, never expecting such a massive creature to be knocked back in one go. It was simply outrageous.
"Looks like I can't fall behind either!" Scyther said calmly. Its body glowed green as it slowly closed its eyes and used Hone Claws. Then, it unleashed a continuous barrage of Air Slashes, the sharp blades of wind mercilessly sweeping across the giant Tentacruel's body. The powerful attacks forced the jellyfish to quickly retaliate. In unbearable pain, it abandoned Meowth, intending to fully resist the assault.
"Looks like I need to make my presence known too!" Onix rumbled, picking up debris from a nearby ruined house and using Rock Slide on the giant Tentacruel.
Seeing its opponent attempting to resist, Charizard struck its head with Dragon Breath, the impact paralyzing it.
"Good opportunity!"
With the Tentacruel in a weakened state, Charizard was engulfed in the purple-gold aura of Dragon Rush. A terrifying killing intent transformed into a giant energy dragon that possessed it. Charizard then flapped its massive wings and charged, allowing the Tentacruel's water jets to hit its body. Its current Fire/Dragon typing, coupled with its Multiscale ability, meant the attacks felt like little more than a gentle massage.
"I forgot to tell you—I'm not afraid of water!"
As soon as the words fell, a booming sound echoed throughout the city. The super-giant Tentacruel's body was half-submerged into the seabed by the force of Charizard's attack. Charizard, seeing this, flew into the sky and let out a victorious dragon roar.
"Gulp!"
Ash and his friends, watching from a distant skyscraper, gazed at the sea battle in shock. They never expected the doomsday-level Tentacruel to be utterly defenseless against Charizard and the other Pokémon.
"Don't get too carried away!" the Tentacruel roared, firing a light orb into the sky that caused heavy rain to fall. It had used Rain Dance.
"What troublesome weather!" Pidgeot said unhappily. The rain weighed down its feathers, affecting its proud speed.
The downpour, however, energized the Blood-Red Gyarados. But before it could even crack a joyful smile, Charizard suddenly spread its wings and spat a fireball upwards, splitting the storm and turning its side of the battlefield into a Sunny Day.
"…?"
The Blood-Red Gyarados said nothing, just gave Charizard a deep, silent look.
"Do you think only you can change the weather?" Charizard said disdainfully, defeating an ambushing Tentacool with a Flamethrower.
"Time for my speed show!"
Pidgeot transformed into a golden lightning bolt, agilely toying with the defending Tentacruel. Finally, with a sharp turn, it used Aerial Ace, directly hitting the giant's vital point.
"Do you dare to compete with me head-on!" the Tentacruel roared in a frenzy. Under the continuous onslaught, it couldn't gain any advantage. Its trusted subordinates were merely tools for gaining experience in the eyes of Red's team.
"Don't be disheartened, Onix! You've always been a Pokémon I'm proud of!" Red said, comforting his partner by patting it. Seeing its companions fighting bravely while it could only watch from a tall building, it was impossible for Onix not to feel upset. Feebas, in Red's arms, also joined in comforting the dejected Rock Snake.
Dragon Rush, Brave Bird, Aqua Tail, and X-Scissor—the four Pokémon all used their proudest moves. Seeing this, the giant Tentacruel quickly used Surf, and towering waves instantly engulfed them. Onix, seeing this, also anxiously used Stone Edge.
"Don't worry, these guys aren't that simple!" Red said calmly, stroking Feebas.
"Roar—!"
Charizard was the first to break through, with several Tentacool clinging to its body, oblivious to their impending doom. Seeing this, Charizard used Flare Blitz, its body covered in scorching flames, burning all the Tentacool off it. The burning Charizard then collided directly with the giant's head. The Tentacruel tried to shake it off, but its tentacles were scalded by the high temperature. It finally used Aurora Beam at close range to make Charizard relent.
"Good morning, audience friends, we are now broadcasting live the sudden super-giant Tentacruel attack that has erupted in Hutber Port!"
While Red's Pokémon were battling, a news helicopter quietly appeared, reporting the situation live to viewers and focusing its cameras on Red.
"This young man is the Trainer of these powerful Pokémon, now fighting to save Hutber Port. Let's get a close-up interview!"
The helicopter slowly descended, and a curvaceous female reporter approached Red, forcefully thrusting a microphone in his face. The sudden intrusion made Feebas tremble, because it knew that Red was about to completely explode.
"Get lost!" Red said coldly, his murderous eyes emitting a blue light as he used Psychic to forcefully shove the reporter into a corner. Onix, seeing her provoke its Master, also glared at her with a gloomy expression.
The reporter had never seen such a scene. In her pursuit of high ratings, she had recklessly accosted him, never expecting him to have such a bad temper.
CRACK—
Seeing that the reporter still intended to approach, Onix used Iron Tail to shatter a nearby tall building, intimidating her into silence. The move had its intended effect; not only did it scare the reporter, but the helicopter in the sky dared not film Red for the program, fearing it would be sunk into the seabed by the Rock Snake below.
Pidgeot and Scyther continuously released countless sharp wind blades, concentrating their attacks on the giant's eyes. The Tentacruel, fearing the ruthlessness of the two Pokémon, constantly blocked the attacks with its tentacles, unable to free its remaining limbs to resist the Blood-Red Gyarados.
"Although its massive body brings strength and stamina, it has also lost its original agility. Coupled with its recent evolution, this super-giant Tentacruel can no longer threaten Charizard and the others," Red said calmly. He glanced at the staff who were politely apologizing to him, then released his psychic hold on the reporter.
"Next time, it won't be so simple," Red said coldly, his words once again making the reporter go limp with fear. She quickly urged the pilot to leave immediately.
"Tentacruel, please leave! Humans have understood your intentions! You are no match for Red!" Misty said with a pained heart, watching the distant battle.
"This is unavoidable, Misty!" Brock went up to comfort her. "If it weren't for Red, this city might have been swallowed by the Tentacruel. He's only thinking from a human perspective!"
"Don't worry, Misty," Ash added. "My brother also loves Pokémon very much. Everything he is doing now is to make Tentacruel and its clan give up on revenge and leave as soon as possible!"
