Whoosh!!!

The boy, who had just looked dishevelled, suddenly swept his gaze towards the two of them. Then, he drew a katana from his waist and slashed directly towards Ash.

"Ah!!" Misty was startled by the sight.

Ash, seeing this, instinctively reached out to block. His left hand directly gripped the descending blade, which frightened Misty even more, making her dare not look.

"Ash... Ash, are you alright!"

Seeing Ash directly gripping the blade with his hand, Misty quickly grabbed Ash's sleeve, her face full of worry, and simultaneously filled with anger.

"What are you doing, you jerk!!" She was extremely angry now. What was this guy up to? He didn't even thank them after being saved, and instead attacked them, making Misty's fiery temper flare up.

"To be able to block my attack without changing your expression, you're clearly no ordinary character!" However, this samurai boy showed no shame about "biting the hand that fed him." Instead, he looked quite pleased with Ash gripping his sword.

"You ambushed me!" Ash said faintly, then released his hand.

Misty quickly grabbed Ash's hand to check and found that Ash's hand was not injured. At this moment, she saw the samurai boy retract his sword, and then used his other hand to pull on the blade, making it instantly bend. After letting go, the blade wobbled, looking like it was made of plastic and not a real sword. Misty breathed a sigh of relief, but still felt a little annoyed. Ash was right, it was an ambush.

"Cough... That's not the point. The point is, are you trainers from Pallet Town?" The samurai boy coughed lightly after hearing them, then asked.

"What if we are trainers from Pallet Town?" Misty was still a bit annoyed. Without waiting for Ash to ask, she had already responded for Ash, naturally with an unfriendly tone.

"If you're trainers from Pallet Town, then let's battle!" The samurai boy said, pointing the fake sword in his hand at Ash.

"Battle? Why do trainers from Pallet Town have to battle you?"

"Because I've already encountered three trainers from Pallet Town before, and all of them were incredibly strong. After battling them, I felt greatly benefited from each match, so I've made up my mind to challenge all trainers from Pallet Town!" The samurai boy didn't hide his purpose of challenging Pallet Town trainers.

"Uh... Hearing that, I think you've lost to the other Pallet Town trainers, so you're not convinced, huh!" Misty said sarcastically.

"That... that's not the point. The point is, are you really trainers from Pallet Town?" The samurai boy's face flushed a little hearing Misty's words, and he quickly raised his voice to cover his embarrassment.

"I'm Ash from Pallet Town. Although you ambushed me, trainers from Pallet Town fear no one's challenge." Ash listened, slightly lowered his head, pinched the brim of his cap to adjust it, and looking at the samurai in front of him, he unhesitatingly accepted the challenge.

"Very good, worthy of a Pallet Town trainer! Come on! The battle will use a two-on-two rule, how about it?" The samurai boy immediately became excited when he heard Ash accept the challenge.

"Alright!"

"Then I won't hold back. Here I come! Go, Pinsir (Heracross)!" The samurai boy excitedly threw his Poké Ball.

Snap!!!

Blue light flashed, and a figure appeared in the center of their positions. A Pokémon with a brown, sturdy carapace appeared before them. Its head bore a pair of giant horns, even longer than its body, looking like giant scissors. The horns were covered in sharp spikes. There was no doubt that if one were caught by that pair of giant horns, it would be almost impossible to escape unharmed.

Ash, seeing this, also took out his Poké Ball. "Go, Metapod!" He didn't send out Pikachu, nor did he send out Pidgeotto, which had type advantage. Instead, he sent out his newly evolved Metapod.

Misty frowned slightly at this sight. Metapod couldn't move on its own, so generally, trainers waited for it to evolve and gain combat capability before sending it out. She didn't expect Ash to send out Metapod. Why not send out Pikachu? Even if not Pikachu, he should have sent out Pidgeotto, which had type advantage, right? If it were before, she would definitely have said that. But after witnessing Ash defeat Pidgeotto with Caterpie, she swallowed her words and chose to trust Ash.

"Hmm? It seems I've praised you too much. You actually sent out Metapod, which can't move on its own, to deal with Pinsir? Isn't that just a living target?" The samurai boy looked at Ash, frowning at first, then scoffed.

"Hmph! If it can't move, it has a way of fighting! How would you know if you don't fight?" Ash said with a faint smile. He, of course, knew how strong Pinsir's giant pincers were. Moreover, Pinsir's abilities in the game were considered high-tier among Bug-type Pokémon. But he naturally had his own plans.

"You asked for this! I won't hold back. Pinsir, go! Use Vice Grip!" The samurai boy felt Ash was a bit too arrogant and decided to teach him a lesson. He immediately ordered Pinsir. Pinsir immediately charged forward. The giant pincers on its head instantly flashed silver light, and its feet continuously made sounds as it ran.

"Metapod, use Harden!" Metapod made no sound, but its eyes became sharp. Its body shimmered. Moments later, the shimmer dissipated, revealing a transparent, glass-like shield over its green shell.

"Continue to Harden!" Seeing this, Ash continued to give commands. Metapod used Harden again. The shimmer reappeared, and its defense increased further.

Snap!!!

At this moment, Pinsir had already charged forward, directly clamping Metapod with its giant horns.

PS: I just checked, Pokémon names have changed over the years. Actually, in Japan, they're called what they're called! But I'm used to the Chinese translated names since I've played with them since I was little. For example, Pinsir and Lapras, I'm already used to those names. For names that are translated well, I'll try to use the new names, but some just feel a bit awkward. Like Pidgeot being called Da Biao (Big Pidgeot), or Axew being directly called Ya Ya (Tooth-tooth) after its Japanese pronunciation. So some names will try to use the established ones, but new names will also be marked.
