Pokemon: Scientist From One Piece

Chapter 1: 1

Under the vast azure sky, a Pidgeot led a flock of Pidgey, soaring gracefully through the air.

On the grassy plains below, gentle wild Pokémon like Rattata and Oddish dozed peacefully, their soft snores echoing against the base of a large tree.

Under another tree, a boy who looked to be around ten years old sat cross-legged, staring blankly at the sleeping Pokémon. He muttered to himself:

"So, you can transmigrate twice, huh?"

That's right—this was Hirito's second transmigration.

His first transmigration had taken him to the world of One Piece.

There, he had joined Dr. Vegapunk's research team and had even surpassed the scientist's achievements in technology. Unlike Vegapunk, who constantly wavered between siding with the Revolutionary Army and working for the World Government, Hirito had always held a firm stance: neither the Navy nor the Pirates were good people.

After mastering all of Vegapunk's knowledge, Hirito chose to collaborate with Sabo of the Revolutionary Army—not Monkey D. Dragon. He had always found Dragon unreliable, a man who seemed to sweat nervously at every turn, failing to act decisively even when his subordinates were captured or when his closest allies suffered betrayals.

In the end, Hirito led an army of Seraphim, fighting alongside Sabo and the Revolutionary Army's commanders in an all-out war against the Celestial Dragons and the World Government. The battle rivaled the legendary Marineford War in scale.

However, when they reached the Empty Throne, they faced the enigmatic Imu—an androgynous being with an unknown ability. Not understanding his opponent's power, Hirito fell for a trap.

If only I had trained in the Pokémon world first... he thought bitterly. I could've learned how to avoid direct attacks on trainers...

But what Hirito never expected was that after dying once in the One Piece world, he would be given a second chance—this time in the world of Pokémon.

"Goo-goo-goo~"

His thoughts were interrupted by a low growling sound from his stomach.

"Speaking of which… I haven't eaten anything since I transmigrated two days ago."

He patted his empty stomach.

"Nado, nado~"

As if understanding his hunger, an Oddish standing nearby suddenly used Razor Leaf, precisely slicing several fruits from the tree above him. The Pecha Berries fell neatly in front of Hirito.

"Hmm? Is this for me?" His eyes lit up in surprise.

"Nado, nado~" The Oddish nodded with a cheerful smile.

"Good kid, good kid~ What a generous little guy."

Hirito picked up the Oddish and gently stroked its leaves, then asked for directions to the nearest city. After gathering the berries, he waved goodbye.

What a peaceful world. It feels like a utopia—so different from the chaos of my previous life.

Munching on the Pecha Berries, he started walking toward the city.

Back in the One Piece world, he had read countless fanfictions about transmigrators. Most of them either became pirates or marines, but to Hirito, neither side had any real virtue. With a few exceptions, the majority were corrupt beyond redemption.

---

After walking for nearly an hour, Hirito finally arrived at a coastal city.

"I should find an adult and ask where I am," he muttered to himself.

The first thing he needed to confirm was which region he was in. If it was Kanto, then he could try his luck with Professor Oak. The old man wasn't Ash's father, but he was certainly more reliable than Ash's actual dad—whoever that even was.

With the advanced technology he had learned in One Piece, becoming Oak's assistant and securing a stable position wouldn't be difficult. The professor was always in need of help, and Hirito was confident he could impress him.

Just as he was about to approach someone, a trembling voice caught his attention.

"Could you really be… my Eevee?"

Looking ahead, Hirito saw an elderly woman standing in the street. In front of her was an Umbreon.

It must be her Pokémon, he thought.

Yet, instead of joy, the old woman's face was filled with sheer terror. She raised her hands defensively, her legs shaking violently, as though she was about to collapse.

The Umbreon, sensing its trainer's fear, looked heartbroken. For the first time, the bond it had cherished so much seemed to be breaking apart.

The old woman's voice trembled as she whispered, "Th-this dark fur… and those r-red eyes… t-too ominous… too scary!"

Umbreon's pupils dilated in shock, her small body trembling as if struck by lightning.

Tsk tsk… looks like this world isn't as nice as I thought. Hirito clicked his tongue.

Umbreon, fighting back its sorrow, took a hesitant step forward, trying to reassure its trainer.

But the moment it moved, the old woman instinctively stepped back in fear.

"D-don't come near me!"

That single step created an irreparable rift between them.

"Please… don't come any closer… don't…" The old woman turned and ran.

Hirito blocked her path. "Hey, Grandma, haven't you ever seen an Umbreon before? It's just another evolution of Eevee. Black fur looks pretty cool, doesn't it?"

He vaguely remembered how hard it was to evolve an Eevee into Umbreon in the games back in his previous life.

"Wh-what Umbreon?! I don't know what that is! Just let me go! Y-you can have it if you like!"

Without hesitation, she dashed past him, disappearing into the crowd.

Hirito turned back to look at the abandoned Umbreon, its ears drooping, its crimson eyes filled with loss.

"Really? She doesn't even know about Umbreon?" He sighed.

After a long moment, he scratched his head and said, "Well… how about this, Little Black? You can follow me for now. Once I figure out how to devolve you back into Eevee, you can return to your trainer."

Umbreon flinched, its face filled with shock.

This human must be crazy!

It had never heard of a Pokémon devolving after evolving!

But what Umbreon didn't realize was that Hirito's scientist instincts had already been awakened.

This world's power system… I can't wait to study how it compares to Devil Fruits.

Evolution was just one of the many mysteries he planned to research.

"But while you're with me, you'll have to help me find food. I'm not like Monkey D. Luffy—I don't work for free," he added.

The reason he had joined forces with Sabo to take down the World Government in his previous life wasn't because of some noble sense of justice.

It was simple.

Once the World Government suspected Vegapunk of disloyalty, they had shifted their attention to him.

Hirito wasn't a hero. But he was a human being, and he had no intention of bowing to those lunatics.

So, rather than wait for them to make a move, he had chosen to strike first—leading to the great war that had shaken the Holy Land of Mary Geoise.

"Bu-ee~"

After a long silence, Umbreon finally let out a soft cry.

She had no home anymore.

She had no choice.
