Pokémon Simulation: Hunting The Protagonists

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Oddish’s Dark Transformation

Oddish possessed the Poison type, so Arbok's attempt to inject venom into her through its fangs had no significant effect.

"Gastly, spare its life for now," Ethan said as he walked toward the two Pokémon, administering a Hyper Potion to Oddish.

Gastly, who was about to finish off Arbok with another Psywave, stopped upon hearing Ethan's words.

Arbok lay on the ground, glaring at Ethan with eyes full of venomous hatred.

Pokémon living in the wild often harbored deep resentment toward humans.

If it weren't so weakened and vulnerable, it would have attacked Ethan the moment it saw him.

The effects of the Hyper Potion were remarkable. Within a minute, the once-dazed Oddish regained consciousness and opened her eyes.

Both Ethan and Gastly were watching her. Oddish instinctively looked at the ground, where Arbok lay injured, and her expression turned furious.

She had spared it, even offering her favorite energy cube, but the serpent had tried to kill her in return.

If not for Gastly's intervention, she might have lost her life.

Oddish trembled with rage at the thought.

"Now you understand, right?" Ethan's tone was calm but firm.

"Kindness toward an enemy is meaningless."

"In the forest, the rule is simple—survival of the fittest."

"No matter how despicable the process, only the one who survives is the true winner."

"There is no coexistence, only life and death."

"You will face situations like this again in the future, so remember—never let your guard down."

Ethan placed Oddish gently on the ground. She lowered her head, feeling ashamed.

The encounter with Arbok had been a harsh lesson.

Had Ethan and Gastly not been there, Arbok would have devoured her and then turned its attention to Ethan.

As a human, Ethan would have stood no chance against a Pokémon.

Oddish realized that her brief moment of naïve kindness could have led to an entirely different, tragic outcome.

Biting her lip hard, she tasted blood as a small red streak appeared.

The image of both her and Ethan dying flashed through her mind, filling her heart with terror.

She didn't want to lose her precious trainer.

Oddish turned to face Arbok, her eyes now filled with determination.

The hesitation in her gaze was gone, replaced by an unfathomable darkness.

Under Ethan's cold words and influence, Oddish had begun to show signs of a dark transformation.

She understood why Ethan had spared Arbok—it was for her.

Without hesitation, Oddish took a step forward.

Grass-type energy gathered around her, forming sharp leaves that floated in the air.

Arbok's crimson eyes locked onto Gastly with deep hatred.

It blamed Gastly for ruining its chance to devour Oddish and evolve into the dominant predator of the forest.

But when it looked back at Oddish and tried to scare her off by hissing and flicking its tongue, Oddish didn't flinch.

She simply raised her hand and unleashed Razor Leaf.

The attack slashed toward Arbok's head with terrifying precision.

In the blink of an eye, Arbok's body was split in half, blood gushing everywhere.

The ground beneath it cracked, leaving a visible fissure.

Gastly, watching from the side, nodded in admiration.

As a Ghost-type that fed on emotions, it could sense the shift in Oddish's mindset.

The Razor Leaf attack, fueled by her anger, was incredibly powerful—even Gastly wouldn't dare take it head-on.

After defeating Arbok, Oddish absorbed enough experience to reach level 32 and learned Grassy Terrain.

"It's time for you to evolve," Ethan said thoughtfully.

He had intentionally taken Oddish out of the city for several reasons.

First, after her evolution, Oddish's ability would change from Run Away to Stench, which might attract unwanted attention.

Second, Stench would reduce the likelihood of encountering wild Pokémon by 50% if Gloom was at the front of the party.

This would ensure a smooth journey to the perfect-quality Sun Stone.

Ethan found a relatively safe spot and instructed Gastly to stay on guard.

Evolution required about 30 seconds of uninterrupted time.

If disturbed, the Pokémon could suffer irreparable damage. Ethan needed to guarantee Oddish's safety.

He removed the Everstone hanging around Oddish's neck.

Instantly, an overwhelming surge of evolutionary light engulfed the area.

Oddish felt a surge of unimaginable energy building within her body.

Waves of energy rippled outward, rustling the surrounding grass and trees.

Bathed in the glow of evolution, Oddish's body began to change.

She grew arms and legs, while the small sprout on her head blossomed into a flower with white spots.

Her height also increased, reaching nearly a meter tall.
