The system notifications echoed in Ethan's ears as blinding white light illuminated the cave, making it as bright as day.
Gloom absorbed the perfect-quality Sun Stone, and immense energy instantly wrapped around her, forming a cocoon-like white sphere.
She remained still, completely enveloped, for nearly half a day.
During this time, Gastly stood on full alert, ready to defend her from any disturbances.
After what felt like an eternity, a crisp cracking sound broke the silence, drawing their attention.
Ethan and Gastly turned their eyes toward the cracks that appeared on the cocoon.
"It's finally happening," Ethan murmured.
The perfect-quality Sun Stone could transform a Pokémon's aptitude, almost like a rebirth. The long process was entirely within his expectations.
The cracks quickly spread across the entire cocoon.
With a bang, the cocoon shattered into countless glowing fragments that scattered in the air.
A small figure emerged from the light, standing before Ethan and Gastly.
It was a Bellossom, about the size of a Skiploom.
Her body was a vibrant green, with round eyes and red markings on her cheeks. Two red flowers bloomed atop her head, while her leafy skirt alternated between green and yellow, giving her a pure, graceful appearance.
Bellossom slowly opened her eyes. Her delicate, seemingly innocent look made Gastly feel a sudden surge of unease.
If the previous Gloom was like a vast, isolated island, now this Bellossom felt like the endless ocean surrounding it—boundless and unfathomable.
Eager to know the results, Ethan activated the Data Eye.

The evolution had brought about a complete transformation.
Bellossom's power had increased drastically, her individual value level advancing from blue to purple.
Not only that, but she also learned new moves like Magical Leaf, Leaf Blade, and the core move Quiver Dance.
With her current strength, she could easily take down elite Pokémon above level 40.
Feeling the newfound power coursing through her, Bellossom raised her hand, ready to try out her newly acquired skills—only for Ethan to stop her just in time.
This cave wasn't sturdy enough to handle Bellossom's experiments.
With Bellossom's evolution complete, Ethan's first goal was accomplished.
Next up: Cassandra.
As they were about to leave the cave, hurried footsteps echoed from outside.
Ethan and his Pokémon exchanged glances, their eyes narrowing cautiously.
Bellossom, however, quickly recognized the approaching presence and dashed toward the entrance.
A battered and exhausted Aron stumbled into the cave.
Covered in scratches from falls, Aron looked utterly drained. It barely made it to Ethan before collapsing in front of him.
"Such severe injuries!" Ethan exclaimed, shocked.
"What happened out there?"
"Bellossom, use Grassy Terrain!"
Ethan had been in the cave all this time and had no idea what Aron had gone through.
He took out a potion and treated Aron's external wounds, but he wasn't a professional medic. While treating surface injuries was manageable, internal injuries were a different matter entirely.
Grassy Terrain glowed softly, lasting for ten minutes before Aron finally regained consciousness.
