Chapter 138: Chapter 138: The Reasonable Colossal Dragonite
Chapter 138: The Reasonable Colossal Dragonite
The energy absorption from the Dragon Spring lasted about ten minutes.
Additionally, it seemed that Hikaru's presence caused the Dragon Crystal beneath the spring to channel even more energy upwards.
This realization reassured Hikaru that the energy in the spring was distributed proportionally among participants. He no longer worried that Latias might unintentionally absorb too much energy, depriving Sakura.
Still, he couldn't help but find it amusing.
"Did Sakura really need to take Latias away? Why is she so guarded?"
Chuckling inwardly, Hikaru turned his focus to the Dragon Tamer Power now stirring within him.
This newfound power was slowly becoming more potent and familiar, syncing harmoniously with his body.
Meanwhile, Charizard basked in the effects of the spring, its latent Dragon-type energy steadily growing stronger.
Eventually, Charizard's power peaked at Level 45, and the Dragon Crystal beneath the spring ceased its energy output. Hikaru took this as a sign that their session was complete.
Standing up, Hikaru felt utterly refreshed.
"That was as good as a full-body massage," he mused, stretching contentedly.
In addition to gaining the coveted Dragon Tamer Power, he also envisioned a promising future for his Pokémon. The effects of this power on Latias, Charizard, and even the unborn Gible sparked his imagination.
"It seems like the Pokémon I catch later on are getting all the perks," he joked with a grin.
"Alright, Charizard, the spring is done," he called out.
Charizard, still soaking in the spring, gave him a thumbs-up, its expression radiating both satisfaction and determination.
"Roar~" (It hurt a bit at first, but it's totally worth it now!)
Hikaru smirked, rolling his eyes.
"Trust you to make that sound so inappropriate."
Charizard tilted its head, clearly clueless about the humor.
Moments later, Charizard declared its eagerness to spar.
"Roar! Roar!" (I'm going to the training room to spar with Greninja. This time, I'll crush it!)
"Alright, go ahead," Hikaru chuckled.
Charizard and Greninja had always been fierce rivals, constantly pushing each other to improve. Charizard, often disadvantaged by Greninja's speed and type, relied on its White Flame ability to even the playing field. Now, with its Dragon moves significantly enhanced, it was ready to turn the tables.
After summoning Greninja and explaining Charizard's challenge, Greninja readily accepted. Gardevoir accompanied them to the training room to ensure their sparring didn't get out of hand.

As Hikaru stepped outside, fully dressed, he froze.
Before him stood the colossal Dragonite, its enormous form looming like a living mountain.
Its ancient, weathered eyes locked onto Hikaru, radiating an overwhelming aura of authority.
Around them, Dragonair and Dratini began to gather, drawn by the elder Dragonite's presence. Hikaru felt the pressure mount as their collective gaze turned to him.
Even Hayashi Ten and Hayashi Fire, who had also emerged from their channels, were stunned.
This was entirely unexpected. The colossal Dragonite rarely interacted with anyone directly.
In fact, the last time it had emerged from its sanctuary, it radiated unmatched vitality. But now, its aging had become evident.
Still, the fact that it had chosen to approach Hikaru was unprecedented.
Hayashi Ten turned to Hayashi Fire with a perplexed look.
"Why is it staring at him?"
"I have no idea," Hayashi Fire murmured, equally bewildered.
The two siblings could only watch as the massive Dragonite settled its gaze firmly on Hikaru.

As Hikaru processed this information, Sakura appeared with Latias, who immediately transformed back into her Pokémon form upon sensing the Dragonite's immense power.
Latias flew to Hikaru's side, positioning herself defensively. Even at her peak, she wouldn't have dared to challenge this behemoth.
"Sakura," Hikaru said gently, raising his hand to stop her.
"I'm fine," he assured her, stepping forward.
"Dragonite," Hikaru called out, his voice steady despite the tension. "Is this what you want?"
He reached into his bag and retrieved the Xerneas's Life Essence that he had acquired earlier. The liquid shimmered with a verdant glow, exuding vitality even through its sealed container.
---
The Dragonite's deep, resonant voice filled the air.
"Human... you are not of the Hayashi Clan."
Hikaru sighed inwardly. There was no use hiding the truth.
"No, I'm not," he admitted.
The Dragonite lowered itself to the ground, its massive frame settling with a low rumble. The ground trembled slightly as it spoke again.
"Your treasure holds the essence of life itself. I require it."
Hikaru felt a wave of relief.
The Dragonite, for all its overwhelming presence, was reasonable.
Still, Hikaru wasn't about to part with such a valuable treasure for free.
"What do you offer in return?" Hikaru asked.
The Dragonite's eyes gleamed with understanding.
"I ask only for half," it replied. "In exchange, you may forge a bond with any newly-born Dratini of your choosing. When the time comes, I will ensure your choice is unhindered."
Hikaru's heart skipped a beat.
Access to Dragonite's descendants? Unrestricted?
This was an offer he couldn't refuse.
"Deal," he said after a brief moment of thought.
Satisfied, the Dragonite let out a low rumble of approval. As Hikaru approached with the flask, the other Dragon Pokémon watched in silent awe.
Carefully, Hikaru poured half of the Life Essence into a shallow pool near the Dragonite. The liquid glowed brightly, its energy permeating the air.
The Dragonite lowered its head, drinking deeply. Its eyes closed briefly, and for the first time in decades, a faint vitality seemed to return to its aged form.
"Thank you, human," the Dragonite said. "May your path be guided by strength and wisdom."
As the colossal Dragonite retreated to its sanctuary, Hikaru couldn't help but smile.
"This trip keeps getting better and better," he thought, his heart brimming with excitement for the future.
