Pokemon: The Journey

They never said how terrifying and painful it was.

Fear.

Desperation.

Hopelessness.

These feelings were unfortunately felt by young Ash on the starting day of his journey.

THA-THUMP

With the beating heart beating loudly in his ears, he tried to run for his life.

Pain filled his entire being in every corner.

Lungs and muscles were burning.

He started remembering his past.

His childhood.

His lack of friends.

The summer camp.

The time spent with Professor and his mom.

The time when he met Roshi.

Meeting Pikachu.

Meeting Rattata.

Trying to escape the Spearow.

Nearly getting eaten by Gyarados.

Escaping, only to be assaulted by someone.

Tha-Thump

Now he was going to die.

'Are you giving up?'

Roshi's voice cut through everything in his mind.

Tha-Thump

'Are you giving up after coming this far?'

That sound jolted him out.

Pikachu was depending on him.

'Is this the extent of your resolve?'

Tha-Thump

(A spark of blue lightning for a brief moment in a black space.)

'Are you just going to accept death as it is?'

'No'

Tha-Thump

(The spark of blue for a brief moment again.)

'ARE YOU GOING TO FORGET ABOUT YOUR DREAM?'

'NO'

Tha-Thump

(The spark lightning for a brief two times.)

'ARE YOU GOING TO FORGET ABOUT YOUR EFFORTS? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO PROVE?'

The looks of the kids leering at him. Calls of 'freak', and other such names.

He felt anger and resolve hardening.

'NO!'

THA-THUMP

(The spark lightning three times.)

'ARE YOU GOING TO FORGET ABOUT PIKACHU, DEPENDING ON YOU?'

'NO!'

THA-THUMP

(The spark lighting and waving around for some time.)

'RATTATA MIGHT HAVE KNOWN THAT SHE WAS GOING TO DIE, YET SHE STILL CHOSE TO HELP HER LEADER. ARE YOU GOING TO LET HER ACT BE FORGOTTEN WITH YOUR DEATH?'

'NO!'

THA-THUMP

(The spark forming lightning bolts.)

'ARE YOU JUST GOING TO LET DEATH CLAIM YOU?'

'NO!'

THA-THUMP

(The sparks lighting up and forming lightning bolts among them.)

'THEN RAGE. RUN. FIGHT. SCREAM. SCREAM WHAT YOU WANT TO DO!'

'I...'

THA-THUMP

(The sparks fusing to form a ball of bluish-white energy with lightning coming out of it.)

'I...'

THA-THUMP

(The ball is growing bigger and brighter. The sounds of cracking glass.)

'I...'

(The sounds are getting louder with cracks forming in the black void.)

THA-THUMP

'I REFUSE TO GIVE UP AND DIE!'

THA-THUMP

(The black void breaking and giving way to light.)

Ultrathin blue lines of mystical energy light up the DNA.

Lighting up the nucleus.

The cell organelles, like mitochondria, lysosomes, etc.

Lighting up the other cells.

Going into the cracks of bones.

Going into the muscle fibers of organs like the heart, lungs, arms, legs, stomach, and back.

Going along the blood arteries, veins, and capillaries.

Lighting up the hemoglobin, white cells, and platelets.

Going along the nerves, flowing from one to another at blistering speeds.

Lighting up the iris of eyes in hues of blue with flecks of white and gold.

Fixing them.

Increasing efficiency.

Strengthening them.

The blue energy acts as a fuel of change and chance.

Giving a fighting chance to the ones who fight and desire change.

When faced with near-death scenarios with a completely drained physical body and mind, many give up only to die.

Lines of blue forming on his body.

Some try to weather and hope to survive.

Few face the odds with reckless abandon, with no hope.

Blue energy was gradually gathering in his body.

The very few are bringing themselves up from despair to do something.

The mind and body of all beings have a limiter placed in them, limiting their potential.

The energy is becoming visible.

Many train their lives to break the limit, only to succeed somewhat.

Faced with death and despair, only the brave push beyond their limits and bring forth something inexplicable.

The ground cracked a little under his step.

A Miracle.

Ash screamed/roared into the horizon.
