The cargo ship's speed was significantly slower compared to the luxury vessel Sato had previously taken.

After spending a full day, night, and an additional morning on the journey, Sato finally set foot in Lilycove City once again.

Sato didn't remove the human disguise crafted by his Ditto, continuing to move through the port in the guise of a taciturn teenager.

It seemed to be a special day for Lilycove City; by noon, the harbor was bustling with people carrying various types of fishing rods.

Curious about the gathering, Sato inquired with a young boy holding a fishing rod and learned that today marked the monthly fishing competition held at the Lilycove City docks.

This time, the prizes were especially enticing, attracting numerous participants, both locals and visitors.

"The third-place prize is a Mudkip, one of Hoenn's starter Pokémon. The second-place winner gets a Mudkip as well as a high-quality fishing rod. The first-place prize includes all of the above, plus a Feebas egg. Hmm, this is indeed a generous set of rewards," Sato mused after thanking the boy for the information.

While debating whether to participate, Sato noticed a familiar figure—a stunningly beautiful woman walking past him, surrounded by a group of chattering children.

It was none other than Elsa, whom he hadn't seen in a while. Sato felt as though her radiant presence had momentarily blinded him.

Elsa was dressed in a stylish pink floral blouse with an open neckline and a matching layered skirt. Her outfit revealed a glimpse of her fair skin and complemented her long, slender legs.

Paired with her golden hair shimmering under the sunlight and her delicate, flower-like face, she looked breathtakingly beautiful.

Today, Elsa exuded an air of confidence and charm akin to a superstar. Her every gesture and smile seemed to captivate everyone around her.

Sato also noticed that she had grown more mature since their last encounter. After enduring trials of life and death, and the sorrow of parting, she now bore a quiet resilience.

Accompanied by her disciple, AJ, and others, a faint, serene smile occasionally graced her face.

Even such a subtle smile transformed Elsa's usual cool demeanor into something warm and approachable, like the soft light of dawn melting the frost of winter.

She seemed at peace, her aura vastly changed.

"Is she participating in the fishing competition too? Of course... the Feebas egg must be her goal," Sato speculated, watching her walk away with her group.

Elsa held a fishing rod, though its design appeared outdated. Still, it was well-maintained, showing signs of regular care.

Sato decided against approaching her. Elsa seemed to be doing well now, and he didn't want to risk rekindling any painful memories by appearing before her.

As for the fishing competition, Sato was well aware of his amateur fishing skills. Competing against the seasoned locals of Lilycove City, who had grown up alongside the sea, felt like a futile endeavor.

Yet, Sato wasn't one to shy away from challenges. In the world of Pokémon, fishing was an essential survival skill for trainers in the wild.

Perhaps it was time to improve his technique.

Following Elsa's earlier path, Sato soon found the registration area for the competition. Using an alias, he signed up for the event.

The competition was scheduled for 2:00 PM at the eastern coastal area of Lilycove Harbor. With over an hour to spare, Sato decided to enjoy a meal at one of the temporary seaside eateries set up by opportunistic vendors.

This rare moment of relaxation wasn't one Sato planned to enjoy alone.

Except for his shiny Silcoon, whose presence would draw too much attention, he released all his Pokémon and claimed a large table for himself and his team.

Thanks to the profits from selling PokeBlocks to trainers in LaRousse City, Sato had amassed a small fortune. Even after various expenses, his bank account still held over 5 million PokeDollars.

With ample funds, Sato spared no expense. Plates of fresh seafood and icy beverages soon filled the table.

His Pokémon, who usually trained diligently, now had a chance to unwind and indulge.

Marshtomp and the shiny Pelipper, both notorious gluttons, wasted no time. The moment Sato began eating, they dived into the feast, devouring the dishes with unmatched enthusiasm.

The other Pokémon quickly followed suit, enjoying the delicious food with relish.

Under the blazing sun, eating freshly grilled seafood by the sea and sipping on chilled drinks was an unparalleled pleasure.

In no time, the table was cleared, leaving only empty plates and bowls.

Marshtomp and the shiny Pelipper, especially fond of grilled seafood, left a noticeable pile of discarded shells nearby, drawing disapproving glances from other diners.

Despite the high demand for grilled items, the chef manning the grill—a seasoned expert—kept up admirably.

While he was overwhelmed by the Pokémon's ravenous appetite, he was also delighted by their approval, knowing it meant good business.

"Marsh!"

"Peli!"

The last grilled lobster on the table caught the attention of both Marshtomp and the shiny Pelipper. Almost simultaneously, they reached for it, their eyes locking in a silent, fiery challenge.

Neither willing to back down, they resorted to their usual method for settling disputes: a water gun duel, with Sato or another Pokémon serving as referee.

Sato picked up a small pebble and tossed it into the air, signaling the start of the contest. Both Pokémon fired their Water Gun attacks simultaneously.

In the end, the shiny Pelipper emerged victorious, its closer range giving it the edge.

Begrudgingly, Marshtomp conceded defeat, turning away to avoid watching the lobster become Pelipper's prize.

However, just as Pelipper was about to claim its hard-won reward, a volleyball suddenly came hurtling through the air.

With a loud clang, the plate hit the ground, sending the grilled lobster flying into the sand, where it rolled a few times before coming to a stop.

"Peli!!"

The shiny Pelipper let out a heart-wrenching cry of despair.
