"Swampert!!!"
Upon receiving Sato's command, Swampert let out a thunderous roar as its overwhelming presence erupted in full. It then slammed its fist heavily into the ground beneath it.
In an instant, the earth within a thirty-meter radius trembled violently. Cracks spread outward from Swampert like a spiderweb, and beams of earthy yellow energy burst forth from the fissured terrain.
That one punch from Swampert not only triggered a resonance with the massive Ground-type energy beneath the surface—it also mimicked the effects of a localized earthquake.
Immediately, dozens of Pinsir that had been burrowing underground in ambush were struck by the violent quake. Many were crushed to death before they could even escape to the surface.
Those that did make it above ground were gravely injured—their bodies riddled with horrifying cracks, as fragile as shattered porcelain dolls.
With that single move, Swampert had taken down more than thirty Pinsir in one fell swoop.
But Pinsir weren't the type of Pokémon to shrink away just because they'd taken heavy losses. Especially when they still had numbers on their side. The deaths and injuries of their comrades only ignited their fury further.
As one enraged Pinsir charged out of the bushes toward Swampert, a red-eyed horde emerged from the forest all around, storming in from every direction.
"Swampert, Rain Dance!"
"Heracross, take me into the air!"
"Kecleon, use Role Play to copy Heracross's Moxie ability, then use Skill Swap to pass it to Swampert!"
Seeing the situation intensify, Sato quickly returned Arcanine to its PokeBall and barked out new commands to his other Pokémon.
Swampert responded immediately. Raising its glowing, sky-blue arms to the sky, it summoned Water-type energy from the surroundings within a hundred-meter radius.
Dark clouds quickly began to gather above Swampert, thickening at a visible pace.
Within seconds, a massive black cloud blanketed the battlefield, and a torrential downpour began to fall.
By then, the mini-Heracross had already carried Sato into the air, and Kecleon had successfully used Role Play and Skill Swap to transfer Heracross's Moxie ability to Swampert.
At the same time, the first wave of Pinsir reached within a meter of Swampert, unleashing their signature move Brick Break, aiming to tear the Water/Ground-type apart.
But they were doomed to fail.
Once nearly a hundred Pinsir entered the thirty-meter range around Swampert, it once again raised a massive fist and slammed it into the now-soaked earth, unleashing the full might of Earth Power.
The drenched battlefield fractured again, sinking inwards as violent tremors and surging energy beams rippled outward from Swampert's position.
With its monstrous strength and mastery over Ground-type energy, Swampert once again combined the Earthquake-esque Earth Power into a devastating area attack.
Agonized howls echoed across the field. Nearly a hundred Pinsir were gravely wounded in an instant.
Those farther from Swampert fared slightly better, sustaining only moderate injuries. But the vanguard—the first wave that had rushed in—were all lying motionless in pools of blood.
"Swampert!!!"
With so many enemies defeated, Moxie triggered again, and Swampert's aura surged even higher. It roared triumphantly, its momentum climbing to terrifying heights.
In that moment, Swampert looked every bit like a demon god standing amidst the rain—its pressure as vast and immovable as a mountain.
The remaining Pinsir, still standing but not yet beaten, were visibly trembling under the weight of that aura. Many had already realized the terrifying truth: they had provoked an enemy far beyond their league.
Their eyes filled with dread.
Rain continued to fall. The muddy battlefield pooled around Swampert's feet, gradually rising until its lower body was submerged.
The remaining Pinsir stood frozen in fear, as if petrified. None dared to move forward. They could only watch helplessly as the demon-like figure of Swampert was slowly engulfed by muddy water.
"Hera~~!"
Mini-Heracross, carrying Sato high above the battlefield, shrieked in awe and admiration. Seeing Swampert instill fear into an entire swarm of wild Pinsir was a shock to its core.
But the stalemate didn't last long.
Suddenly, a furious roar pierced the air, shaking every Pinsir out of their trance.
Soon after, a rhythmic slapping sound echoed across the battlefield—like a war drum.
It was the sound of something massive striking its body, over and over again.
The effect was immediate. The Pinsir seemed invigorated by the sound—their bloodshot eyes grew even more feral, and an uncontrollable bloodlust surged from them.
With savage roars, they charged Swampert again like a mindless horde.
"Repel them with Muddy Water! Don't let them get close!"
Seeing the tide turning, Sato shouted from above.
Then, following the direction of the roar and the rhythmic slapping, he spotted it—a monstrous Pinsir easily three to four times the size of a normal one, radiating overwhelming pressure.
"What a giant Pinsir… and level 65, no less. This must be their leader."
Using the system's scan, Sato confirmed his suspicion.
This Pinsir wasn't just any strong Pokémon—it was the sovereign of the Pinsir Forest, the undisputed ruler of this swarm.
Sato became alert. The moment this Pinsir showed any signs of entering the battle, he'd order Swampert to use Dig and retreat.
But the leader Pinsir was clearly proud. In the eastern region of the Mystery Island, it was a known and feared presence. It would never stoop to bullying the weak—let alone ganging up on them.
The battle had already drawn the attention of countless wild Pokémon in the area. If it joined the fight against a lone Swampert, its reputation would be in ruins forever.
So despite its seething anger, the Pinsir boss did not move. It merely stood at the edge of the battlefield, beating its body like a war drum—cheering on its kin.
Unfortunately for it, this gesture changed nothing.
The battlefield had already been transformed by Swampert's Rain Dance and Earth Power. The terrain was a swamp now—a perfect environment for Swampert.
While the Pinsir became sluggish and blinded by the mud, Swampert only grew faster, more agile, and harder to spot. It used the murky water as cover to evade attacks and launch devastating counterstrikes.
The Pinsirs' siege turned into a joke. They were like muddy puppets trying to catch a phantom.
And now, with the rainy weather enhancing it, Swampert's Muddy Water had become a force of nature. Many Pinsir were swept away before they even got close—some disappearing beneath the mud, their fate uncertain.
Those that did reach Swampert were instantly knocked away by its empowered punches—each blow a culmination of boosted physical strength under Moxie.
Every strike launched a Pinsir skyward in a brown blur, smashing through trees like battering rams.
Ten minutes later, the battlefield had turned into a swampy graveyard.
Not a single Pinsir remained standing.
And those that arrived late to reinforce… didn't dare step forward. They stood in silence, eyes fixed on the demon-like silhouette still standing in the muddy battlefield, daring anyone to move a step forward.
