Pokemon: The Master Of Monsters

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Vs Ash

Gary explained to Ash, who was puzzled: "Ash, you've been a Trainer for so long. Don't you know that if you're hit by a poison-type move, there's a chance that the opponent will be poisoned?"

"And in Close Combat, even though it's a physical move, if you make contact with your body, you might get poisoned as well."

"What! There's such a thing?" Ash was hearing this for the first time.

"I really don't understand how you managed to get five badges. Golbat used Cross Poison against Pidgeotto," Gary ordered.

"Pidgeotto, hold on, use Quick Attack!" Ash shouted.

Pidgeotto, shaking off some of the confusion from the attack, leaped lightly, using its wings to swing and meet the oncoming attack with a Quick Attack.

The two Pokémon collided with a loud Bang and both were knocked back. Pidgeotto, now poisoned and in bad condition, fell to the ground.

"Supersonic!" Gary saw that Pidgeotto wasn't going down easily, so he decided to further disorient it.

Golbat emitted a shrill Supersonic wave, hitting Pidgeotto.

"Bi!" Pidgeotto cried out, clearly disoriented by the attack.

"Pidgeotto, return!" Ash immediately recalled Pidgeotto, realizing it wouldn't be much help with the poison and confusion.

Gary didn't protest. After all, Pidgeotto was already poisoned, and recalling it wouldn't change much. Ash needed to act fast if he was to stay in the game.

"Ash, you sure you want to send out Pikachu? You should have thought of a better strategy," Brock advised, watching from the sidelines with concern.

Ash, however, had no doubt in his mind. He threw Pikachu's Poké Ball.

"Pikachu!"

Pikachu appeared, electrified and ready for battle.

"Alright, let's do this," Ash cheered.

Gary looked at Ash's choice. "Golbat, return and take a rest." He then threw out his next Pokémon.

"Primeape, let's go!"

A spherical body emerged as Primeape appeared, showing its readiness for battle.

"Oh, it's Primeape!" Ash exclaimed with surprise.

"What's wrong, Ash? Do you have an issue with me using a Primeape?" Gary asked.

"No, it's just that I caught one too," Ash replied, trying to hide his own surprise.

Gary raised an eyebrow, sensing something was off. He felt Ash's Primeape wouldn't be as strong as his own, considering he had encountered a wild Pokémon with higher potential.

"Then shall we have a Primeape battle?" Gary challenged.

"Forget it. I left my Primeape at the Fighting Spirit Gym for training. I didn't bring it," Ash admitted.

Gary was speechless. "What do you mean you left it for training? It's your Pokémon, Ash!"

Ash, feeling defensive, explained, "Primeape loves to fight, so I left it there."

Gary shook his head. "Let's just get this battle over with." He wasn't in the mood to argue about Ash's training methods.

"Alright, Pikachu! Use Thunder Shock!" Ash ordered.

Pikachu released a burst of golden electricity toward Primeape.

"Dodge it!" Gary commanded, and Primeape danced to the side, narrowly avoiding the attack.

Despite its speed, Pikachu's electric skills are notoriously fast. It's rare for most Pokémon to dodge them so effortlessly.

"Now, Fury Swipes!" Gary commanded.

Primeape darted forward, delivering a flurry of punches to Pikachu. It was like Comet Punch, and Pikachu was knocked back several meters from the relentless barrage.

Pikachu tried to defend, but the gap in physical strength was evident. Pikachu struggled to keep up with Primeape's brute force.

"Use Agility, Pikachu!" Ash shouted desperately.

Pikachu quickly used Agility, speeding up and evading Primeape's next strike.

"Use Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded as Pikachu charged up a powerful electric attack.

"Pikachu!" The electric energy coursed through Pikachu's body, and it shot a thick bolt of lightning directly at Primeape.

"Stone Edge!" Gary countered.

Primeape stomped the ground, causing stone pillars to shoot up from the earth, blocking Pikachu's Thunderbolt. The attack was shattered by the stone pillars, but they didn't stop there. One of the stone pillars shot up directly under Pikachu, launching him into the air.

"Pikachu!" Ash shouted in alarm as his Pokémon was sent skyward by the force of the Stone Edge.

Seeing the opening, Gary didn't waste any time. "Primeape, use Mega Kick!"

Primeape rushed forward, its right foot glowing brightly as it prepared to strike.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt quickly!" Ash yelled, hoping to stop Primeape's attack in time.

Though Pikachu was still in midair and unable to move as quickly, he released his strongest electric attack with all his might.

"Pika... Chu!!"

The electric current surged through the air, striking Primeape just as it was about to land the kick. The thunderous force of the attack jolted Primeape, who staggered under the intensity of the electric shock.

Primeape, however, didn't back down. Despite the pain, his anger only grew, and he pushed forward with the strength of the kick, pushing through Pikachu's Thunderbolt.

Both Ash and Pikachu were stunned. They had never seen a Pokémon withstand such a powerful Thunderbolt and still fight back so fiercely.

The battle raged on, and Ash knew he had to think of something else if he wanted to win.

The stakes were high. Would Pikachu be able to overcome Primeape's overwhelming strength, or would Gary's determination prove too much for Ash to handle? Only time would tell.
