Possessive crush

Chapter 6: Chapter 5

I am not going to tell Eve about the secret that binds me to Felix. It is a past that should stay between us. Probably no one at school knows that this most popular boy that most girls sigh for, in elementary school was quite overweight, wore ridiculous glasses, which made him carried away by his classmates and unable to defend himself.

Felix has changed dramatically since then. In high school, he is now number one and almost everyone wants to be friends with him.

He not only changed his appearance, but above all worked hard on his character.

If I told my friend this, an hour later the whole school would be roaring with gossip. She has such a long tongue that sometimes it scares her to say something about another person.

The topic of Felix from the past becomes a closed chapter and no one will hear from me.

As I pass him in the corridor, he throws me a stealthy glance, lifting the corners of his mouth upward. He again lets me know that soon our relationship will take a different direction.

On the one hand, I'm mega excited because it's finally my crush, but on the other hand, I'm damn concerned. Well, after all, it's all such a strange coincidence that I'm beginning to believe I've found myself in my fanfic.

Such miracles are rather rare in real life.

- Is your head all right, best friend? - Eve runs up to me and puts her arm around me.

Yesterday, I did not return to my remaining classes. I was released to go home due to feeling unwell, and I didn't write back messages to this nag.

- Pray that your head will be all right as I'm about to apply to you," I mutter under my breath, still angry with her.

- You sulk like a child, but it is thanks to me that your relationship with Felix is heading in the right direction. He is genuinely interested in you. I just wanted to check it out.

- Take care of your love life. Unless you want me to interject my three cents....

The blonde snorts under her breath, not taking my words to heart.

- And what do you seem to be able to do? I'm the spec of connecting with Cupid's arrow.

I smile mischievously as my attention is caught by Sebastian heading from across the street.

- Our gossiping friend, wait! - I turn to the peer, pulling myself out of my friend's embrace. Out of the corner of my eye, I notice that she is chastising me with her eyes. - I need to talk to you about something.

I catch him under the arm, causing him slight embarrassment. Eve laughs loudly at this sight, guessing what I'm about to do.

- Come on! Show me what you're made of, Selena! Get me that sweet amante.

Sebastian looks at me with panicked eyes as I lead him to the wall and don't let him escape.

- What's going on?

- I have great news for you. You have an admirer on your right. - His gaze carefully shifts to Eve, who crosses her fingers at him, looking amused. - Only now has she revealed to me that she is going on all these dates because she wants to forget about you. She knows she doesn't have a chance with you because you've given her the hussy patch.

Seeing the look on his face makes me feel like parching with laughter, so I struggle to restrain myself.

- Are you making fun of me?

The boy is blushing in the face, which is quite charming. I know how it feels. I, too, was embarrassed in the presence of Felix.

- Do you think I have nothing else to do but make fun of you? Eve may not be shy, but she asked me for help because she knows you are afraid of her. - Our classmate blinks his eyelids, not knowing how to react to this. - Eve, I leave the rest to you! Sebastian already knows that you like him.

I walk away from the boy, being sure that my friend will pass by him throwing some stupid text, but to my surprise she does something entirely different. She stops in front of him, smiling cocky.

- What are you doing? - I ask in a whisper, seeing that Eve and Sebastian are now the center of attention.

I open my eyes wider as she rests her hand right next to his head, and her face is far too close to his face.

- From now on you are mine," she announces in a loud voice, causing an enthusiastic cheer among her peers. Sebastian blushes up to his ears, looking at her with wide-open eyes.

- What are you doing? - he asks in a panicked voice.

- I appoint you my boyfriend, urchin.

The shouts become even louder as the blonde clings her lips to his, and he stands numbly, looking as if he is about to faint.

I shake my head at this, thinking that she really is crazy.

- Your friend is busy, so come with me. - Someone grabs my hand from behind and pulls me with them. Only when I turn around do I notice that it is Mike.

- And what do you want from me?

- I want many things from you.

In this school, everyone is crazy. In fact, so am I.

- More specifically?

- That you should write a story about us in the lead role. - His smile says it all.

Deviant.

- I don't have fantasies related to you," I answer him maliciously, which makes him laugh even more.

- You just broke my heart, Selena Wasley. - I roll my eyes, still wondering where he is dragging me.

- Lessons will start soon. Where do we go from here?

- On a date. You have a class with Kulfon now, and it has come to my attention that she is not in school because she fell ill.

- Did you print out my lesson plan for yourself? Are you a school weasel that you know everything that's going on?

- Yes. An estate one as well. I am also your and Felix's bodyguard.

- Do you at least get paid for it?

- Felix's love.

He really is not serious. He still has a child in him.

- The fact that you ran into me activated your destiny.

- What are you talking about again? We don't have any destiny.

- And that's a shame. - He looks at me for a long moment, then starts winding up again. - Thanks to me, Felix noticed you. I heard that you have a shared past. That's cute. He recognized you right away, that's why he wanted to know what your name was, and I was from the black job. Now, do you understand? It's not that I bullied you. I simply had no choice. - He shrugs his shoulders.

- At least you have an explanation," I mutter.

- His behavior you also have to understand, Selena. Even though he hired me to do black work, he was jealous because I am a breaker of women's hearts.

He has a high ego. Too high.

- Even if you stood on your eyelashes, you would not seduce me.

- This would be difficult to deal with, as I have very sparse and short eyelashes.

He is undoubtedly a child. He stopped mentally at the age of ten.

- Beast, I brought your Snow White! - announces Mike, and I just now notice that we are in a room that belongs to popular students. Here they have a couch, a rug, a table.... They can relax in full swing.

- I think you've got the wrong fairy tales, woodpecker," Felix points out to him. - If anything, it's Beauty and the Beast.

- Or Snow White and the Dwarf," Mike adds in an amused voice, referring to the fact that he is shorter than he is.

- Go from there. Get lost before I kick your ass.

On his way out, he winks at me.

- You have to forgive him. He behaves like this every day. Maybe the day will come when he grows up.

- I think I'll get used to it in time," I reply, pulling my hair behind my ear. - Are you sure I don't have classes now?

- No worries. Mike is the school radar. He knows everything.

This is confirmed when I get a message from a friend asking me where I am and that lessons don't start until an hour later.

I reply to her that she is to take care of Sebastian, because I am unavailable at the moment.

- Sit down.

I hide the phone in my uniform pocket and take a seat across from him. He pours green tea into a cup and slides it towards me.

- Thank you.

I feel uncomfortable, and yet a pleasant warmth envelops my body. I'm excited to sit in the same room with him.

I take a sip of tea and set the cup down on the saucer.

- All these years, I was truly grateful to you for what you did then.

- Come on. It was so long ago, and I did what needed to be done. There were many times when I felt like I was going to spray these guys' asses.

I can see that with these words I made him laugh.

- It is because of you that I am who I am now. - I lift my gaze and look into his eyes. - You gave me the motivation to make me change. I practiced hard for years, I came to high school entirely changed. I didn't only work on my appearance, but also on my character. I believed that we would still be able to meet. It's wonderful that you went to school with me for a year and I couldn't see you.

- Maybe it's because basketball is the most important thing for you right now?

- Not anymore. - He replies hastily, and I swallow my saliva harder. - This was, before you didn't appear in front of me. - I force a slight smile, not knowing how to respond to this. - Why did you disappear one day in elementary school?

Painful memories are coming back to me. I don't want to talk about it, so how should I get out of it?

- Something happened in my family and I just had to change schools.

He is no longer dragging the subject, for which I am grateful to him. I would rather not bring up painful memories that could become hurtful to me again.

He sees that I have become restless. He changes his seat and sits down next to me, embracing my hand.

- Now when you need help, you can always turn to me. It's my turn to take care of you.

I shyly look into his eyes, as his face is too close to mine.

I nod in agreement.

At this point, I simply don't realize what I'm really getting myself into and that this man is going to drive me crazy, ultimately turning my life into hell.
