His system did not answer for a while, as if still trying to find the answer itself in whatever knowledge bank it has. Then it just said:

Hermes thought about it. Void beasts were mysterious and chaotic. They barely make sense. There was even a field of study called Voidology focused purely on studying them. But even the best Void scientists agreed that they do not follow any rules of reality that we can understand.

That meant that his ability to share and steal abilities through cum and blood was just pure entropy, nothing more. No rhyme or reason. 

Somner wiped his mouth. "Oh? I have Sirentone again… Your cum is so cold, Master."

Hermes asked: "Do you feel any different? Did your system tell you anything?"

"Tell me what?" Somner stood up. 

The rushing water continued as Hermes went to explain what just happened. Somner was so baffled at first, then delighted, then disgusted, then ecstatic. His expressive face changed colors like a kaleidoscope.

"So after swallowing your cum, I gained yours and Ymir's abilities temporarily. But that was through your DNA, and you also got Ymir's ability through his DNA…. Does that mean I have Ymir's DNA in me too? Ew."

Hermes scratched his neck. "That's a pretty convoluted way to think about it. But yeah… My body experienced changes that made me more similar to Ymir when I drank his blood. And yours will too."

Somner hugged him. "But at least we're the same now… Hehe, I'm a bit excited to use ice powers."

He then created a cute little ice cat in his hand. "Wow! This is so cool!"

"But Somner…" Hermes rubbed his chin. "If both of us have Sirentone, what happens if both of us tried to use it on another? Does it just cancel out?"

Most of the time, powers cannot be used on its own user. Like how Eirwyn couldn't use Rewind on himself.

Even some powers cannot affect users that have a power similar to it. Hermes recalled that the enemy Ymir fought in his first solo mission was actually an ice user too. 

When Ymir tried to freeze the user, it just continued moving despite being encased in ice.

That was why Ymir got into such big trouble. That fight got him hospitalized for a year. People even thought he would never go back to field missions again after that. 

But then Magnarok came, and he was suddenly back and gained popularity. 

Magnarok was to thank for his resurrection in the hero world, now that Hermes thought about it. Ymir would fight some other villains from time to time, but it was his battles with Magnarok that people truly looked forward to. 

He wondered what it would be like wielding the Magnarok ability and Cryoshift at the same time. Fire and ice…

"It didn't work?" Somner suddenly asked him, snapping him out of his reverie.

"Oh? Did you just try to hypnotize me?" Hermes asked. 

Somner frowned. "Awwwie~ That means you can't hypnotize me either! I shouldn't have swallowed your spunk!"

He then giggled as he recalled the taste. "It was pretty good though… so thick… There's an aftertaste until now, and my throat feels sticky—"

Hermes covered his mouth. "You really are shameless even without hypnosis."

Somner bit his hand. "Don't just cover my mouth! And we've been here for hours now, I feel icky now for going in the shower with clothes on!"

He took off his clothes and pushed Hermes away, then closed the sliding door. "You're done now! Don't watch me, perv!"

Hermes sighed. Guess he really was back to how it was before, now that he cannot be hypnotized.

But seeing him act as a brat didn't bother Hermes that much anymore. Especially since he knew how Somner actually felt deep down. He really was just easy to get flustered, so he lashes out to not show his shyness.

Hermes went to dry himself and change clothes. Somner took much longer to be finished, and they checked out of the hotel afterwards. 

"I'll take you home." Somner said as they got in the car. "We have work tomorrow so sleep early, ok?"

Hermes chuckled. "What, are you my mom?"

"I'm just reminding you. You're still an intern, right? How long has it been?" Somner asked. 

"8 months."

"8 months!? Are you kidding me!?" Somner looked offended for his sake. "No way! Someone with powers like yours deserves a real position and to work in field missions. I'll write to your Department Head right away."

"He's unconscious." Hermes reminded him, making a biting gesture. "I might even get fired because of the incident."

The young director chuckled. "Ah, yeah. I really hate that Ice Dick. It won't be easy to convince him. But…"

"I can move you to my department." Somner winked. 

Hermes' eyes widened. "Really? You can do that?"

Somner laughed with his head back as he drove like a maniac. "Of course! He can't have you fired if you're in a different department either. My position is higher than his, he's just slightly more famous in some channels. But that's like, so whatever."

He turned to Hermes with a softer expression. "You're not alone anymore, ok? I can tell it from your eyes. I won't let anyone bully you besides me."

Hermes almost felt touched until the last part.

He pulled on Somner's ear. "What's that? You wanna bully me, SOMNIA?"

"Ow! Y-You're not my Master anymore! You can't do this to me…" Somner whimpered, but didn't do anything to stop him. 

Hermes smirked. "Then I'll just show everybody the photos I took."

His eyes then widened, and he turned to panther mode again, scratching Hermes. 

"What photos!? Give me your phone! Delete those, I swear! DELETE THEM YOU IDIOT!"

Hermes grabbed the wheel when Somner let go, trying to not make them crash. "Hey, eyes on the road!"

And so that was the end of their pleasant little rendezvous. 

Tomorrow, they'll have to go back to the not so pleasant reality of a hero's life.
