Chapter 211: The Old Vs New (3)
The arrow was one of Rand's trump cards.
Penetrating Ice Killing Arrow.
He learned this skill from the Bow Tower when he became an Inner Disciple three years ago. In fact, if one were to ask him, he would say that skill was one of his strongest skills.
The skill taps into his core ice and forms an arrow from it.
This core ice is the strongest form of his ice element, and the arrow is formed from it. While he wouldn't say it was easy, he also never expected Unity to survive that.
An arrow formed from the core ice is something nobody can easily defend against, especially someone as weak as Unity, who wasn't even a Root Saint yet.
Just like Kent, she was also at the Level 8 Root Grandmaster stage. But when the arrow came speeding toward her, she remained calm and retrieved a single arrow from her quiver.
She nocked it into her bow and imbued it with her energy. She was still not using her lightning element, so it was a pure brute attack.
She released the arrow, and as expected, the two met 70 meters from Unity.
This time, instead of both arrows exploding immediately, the two met and remained still for five seconds before a powerful explosion of ice rocked the arena.
The explosion sent a shockwave rippling through the arena, shattering the ground and sending shards of ice flying in all directions.
The crowd gasped, their breaths visible in the sudden chill that enveloped the battlefield.
Rand stood firm, his bow still raised, his eyes narrowed as he searched through the icy haze for any sign of Unity.
He couldn't believe she had managed to counter his core ice arrow, even if only partially.
But then, a faint glow emerged through the swirling mist of frost and debris.
Unity stepped forward, her bow held steady, her expression calm but her eyes blazing with determination.
The explosion sent out more shockwaves than she anticipated, but she managed to regain her footing and was now back for more.
Rand's jaw tightened.
He clenched his fist, drew his bow, and leaped into the air. At the same time, a powerful energy burst out of his body, making everyone watching, especially the inner disciples, realize Rand wished to end the battle.
This was his classic move.
"Wailing of the Ice," he muttered as he pulled on his bowstring.
He pulled back with much greater force, but if one looked closely, they wouldn't see any arrow in his bow.
'Where did the arrow go?' Unity wondered, but she remained alert.
Suddenly, she pulled on her bow as well.
This was because, just as she was looking toward Rand, a five-layered spell circle appeared in the air to the left of her location.
If Rand were a mage, he would have been regarded as a High Mage for having the energy to form a five-layered spell circle.
But it formed, and from within the spell circle, a thick arrow made of pure green ice appeared. That wasn't all—around the arrow, five wraiths coiled around it, screeching icy energy.
Unity's expression changed.
The arrow coming at her was not simple, and from the paleness on Rand's face, one could tell he had placed all his hopes and dreams in that arrow.

Unity jumped into the air and moved back, creating some distance between herself and the arrow.
She then closed her eyes and pulled on her bowstring.
Everyone watching observed her calmly, wondering what she was up to, closing her eyes mid-battle.
But it didn't take long for everyone to see she wasn't making any mistake; instead, she was unlocking something.
In truth, Unity was just conversing with her big sister, who had placed a seal on her lightning element while working on her foundation.
Vexthra had done that to ensure Unity mastered her bow using her own strength and speed. But now that the odds had changed and she might lose, Unity told her to lift the seal.
Vexthra didn't ask why. She had already expected Unity to ask her to lift the seal days ago, but Unity hadn't.
So Vexthra lifted the seal, and at once, a powerful golden lightning burst out of Unity's body, lighting up the air.
Everyone gasped as the lightning spread throughout the arena, threatening to destroy everything. Kent watched this with a smile.
He also possessed a lightning element, golden in hue, but looking at Unity's, he could tell they were completely different. In fact, he could even feel it—Unity was different the moment the lightning appeared.
An arrow formed in her bow, crafted from thick lightning.
"Judgement Arrow," Unity muttered, and then she snapped her eyes open. "Two Times Exploding."
She released the arrow, and it streaked through the air like lightning, colliding with the ice arrow. The impact exploded into sparkles of ice and lightning.
It was a powerful yet beautiful explosion, but the shockwave only rippled through the air.
Unity was back on the ground, and like lightning, she moved. The next second, she stood before Rand with an arrow pointed at his neck.
He had lost the duel and he knows it.
Unity used one of the skills she had acquired from the green bazaar. Aside from [Heaven's Arrowstorm] and [Thunder God's Precision], she had also purchased one called [Judgement Arrow].
Though the name sounded impressive, the skill itself was monstrous.
It allowed Unity to form arrows from her lightning element, and then, using her mastery of the element, she could multiply the explosive power of the arrow.
This time, she was able to multiply it by two. But if her mastery increased, she could multiply it by higher percentages. It all depended on her mastery of lightning.
Rand, who was as pale as paper from the exhaustion he had sustained from using the powerful skill, sighed. He didn't need anyone to tell him he had indeed lost.
Though he would have liked to think he hadn't lost, he could also tell a new monster had emerged. He may be a monster, but he still paled compared to Unity, whose talent with the bow was unparalleled.
Of course, she would soon find out how unparallel she really is with the bow. For now, she is just Unity with the bow...
