Chapter 17: True Abyssal Flame Patriarch
A Few Minutes Earlier
Clarissa and I made to the Baron's compound in less than 10 seconds. Honestly, the land is what took the most time, as I actually cared if I hurt the passenger I had with me. Clarissa was the Baron's daughter, that was true, but she was earnest, and hated what her father was doing. You cannot blame the sins of the father on their children. That is, unless the children decide to follow in that person's footsteps. Then I'd say it's okay to treat them the same way.
We set down, and I put Clarissa on her feet, only for her to sink to the ground, almost like she was worshipping it.
"Oh Framework help me... I'm gonna be sick. I always thought it would be fun to fly, but... maybe do it slower next time?" She asked, but I had a singular focus.
"What should I know about your father? And where is he?" I growled the last part, and she was at attention immediately, and pointed towards one of the highest parts of the compound.
"Baron Renard Osark is his name, and he's ruled her for..."She began, but my flat stare informed her that I didn't give a shit about that information. She coughed, " Ahem... his room is on the 3rd floor, at the very top. He has a B ranked class called Subjugation. " She said, and I nodded at her as I began to walk forward, my stomach twisting at the name of his class. He can literally make people into slaves.
"Stay here." I said, and she apparently was not having that.
"No way! I'm coming with you." She said, and I groaned.
"I don't want you to get hurt. Besides... this is going to get messy." I said, trying to reason with her, but I apparently, I was the unreasonable one here.
"No! You don't order me around! And I need to do this. I need to witness my father paying for his crimes. I've accepted what needs to be done, and I'm on your side. So please, let me help you save the one you're here for." She said, and the look in her eyes was a determination I felt in my very soul.
"I'm not trying to order you around. I don't do that. I just don't want you to get hurt," I said, but before she could retort, I added, "But fine. Just stay behind me."
She beamed at me.
"I can do that. I was going to do that anyways. I'm not much of a fighter." She said, making me chuckle.
"Fine. Come on then."
I walked up to the front gates, a dozen guards standing watch outside of it. They pointed their swords and spears at me, and shouted.
"HALT!"
I obviously didn't listen to what they said, but instead, I shot a sedan sized ball of Abyssal Flame at the gates. The guards turned to ash within milliseconds, and the doors melted away, the metal pooling on the ground below as I walked right through. More guards stood in my path to the front door, but I used my tendrils in conjunction with my manipulation skill to slice all of them apart by adding blades and axe heads to the ends of them. I heard Clarissa gasp and gag as their dismembered bodies hit the ground, but I couldn't be bothered with that right now.
I reached the front door, a massive door twice as tall as I was, and punched it. The doors splintered and shattered into sawdust as they were blown apart, and I proceeded through the dust cloud inside. I used my perception to see my surroundings, and found that there were at least 3 or 3 dozen guards making their way into the massive front entrance. I stepped out into a clear spot, and found myself surrounded on a sides.
I looked around me, finding a bunch of nervous and scared people, some no older than myself, while some were much older.
"THAT'S FAR ENOUGH! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE YOU ARE?" A man on the balcony above shouted at me, and I looked up to see a man dressed in armor that was more expensive looking, and more protective than everyone else had on.
[Abyssal Eye]
[Name: Philip Dresdrin]
[Age: 38]
[Race: Human]
[Class: Knight (C+)]
[Designation: Guard Captain]
Okay, so, nothing to worry about. So far, nothing had been anything to be concerned about. I was worried that I was going on a power trip, mainly because killing these shitty people actually felt... rewarding. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that all I wanted to do was hold Cici in my arms. That sounded much better than killing these assholes.
I looked up at the man, Abyssal Flames covering my limbs, and my voice boomed while I spoke evenly.
"You're all in my way. There's someone here that you stole away from her home. Away from me." He growled the last part, and the building shook as his aura leaked out of his body, "You all picked the wrong job, but you probably all knew that, didn't you? Now, the girl you have, WHERE IS SHE??" I screamed the last part.
I could feel their souls, the darkness within them, and not a care in the world for the people they've hurt, they've stolen, they killed. I bared my teeth.
"WHERE IS SHE?!"
Columns of fire erupted underneath guards left and right, burning their armor, skin, organs, and bones to nothingness. Tendrils whipped out, some killing people with pure blunt force, while others cut and sliced them alart, blood staining the walls and floors behind me as I kept shouting. The guard captain's eyes widened in surprise, his body shaking in fear as I watched the look in his eyes turn to horror as I killed all of his subordinates right before his eyes. Then, I saw him shout at the people closest to him, and they fuckin' ran. They took a flight upstairs up, no doubt towards the Baron, so I turned around, finding a gagging Clarissa.
I picked her up again, causing her to yelp, as I leapt up to the balcony, and began following behind the guards. Clarissa managed enough will power to speak.
"They are heading right towards his private quarters." She said, pretty much confriming the conclusion I came to.
We were a little behind them, but I let them go. I wanted them to get there, to tell the Baron that I was here. To make them all afraid. I arrived at the 3rd floor, and set Clarissa back down. I didn't see the guards in sight anywhere, but Clarissa pointed a delicate finger down a narrow red carpeted hall.
"His room at the end of there." She said, and I nodded as I marched forward.
The rage inside my was getting worse, and the fear that something happened to Cici was all I could think about. I didn't know, and that's what scared me the most. That's why I was going to savor every drop of blood I took from these assholes. As I neared the end, I heard raised voices from the inside of the doors that were now in front of me.
"He's a monster. Stronger than anything and anyone I've ever seen. His aura makes moutains look small!" The gaurd captain had said mid sentence, but I didn't bother to hear the rest. They were doing exactly what I wanted them to do, and now it was time to make my entrance.
"Clarissa, please stand back." I said, my tone more gentle for her, and she jumped.
"Oh uh, yes, right! I'll go back here!" She said, hiding behind a vase in the middle of the hallway. She was a weird girl, alright, but her heart was in the right place.
I wasted no more time. I sent my tendrils crashing through the doors, several screams, gags, and gurgles followed suit as my appendages found their marks. I pulled them through the doors, obscured by the debris in the air, and began to systematically tear each one of them apart.
I sliced them in half, I crushed their bodies into the ceiling, walls, and floors, I burned many alive, and all the while, I held the captain suspended in front of me, his lips stained crimson as he watched me brutalized the people that worked for him. I pulled him close to me, and when our eyes met, he trembled as the fear in his eyes grew to unprecedented levels.
"Take this to the grave." I growled, and then set his body aflame, causing him to scream and shout for mercy, until he was silent, as dead people usually were.
Without anymore preamble, I walked into the Baron's quarters, and was met with a sight that caused my blood to boil, but my heart to settle. Cici was fine. She was alive, and I almost teared up in relief, but the way she was present right now towards the man in front of her sent a spike of rage through me.
"Who are you?" This absolutely fucking asshole asked me, but I ignored him, instrad focusing on the most important person in my life.
Cic stared at me both in awe and confusion, as she probably didn't recognize me, not right away anyways. But as she studied me, and as I looked deep into her gorgeous green eyes, it was then that she realized it was me. She began to cry fat rivers of tears as she screamed.
"ELI!!" She screamed, and the relief in her tone made everything I had done to get here worth it.
Still, when I looked at her chained up on this bed, in a skimpy outfit that was meant for no eyes other than mine with her legs spread open, and then the Baron's obviously hastily put together state of dress, my anger reached a boiling point, and my aura crashed out of me. The Baron looked between us both for a minute, and then his face turned red.
"You! You tore through here all for this beast?" He asked me, and my anger still for a split second, before it overwhelmed me.
Did this fucker really just call my amazing Cici...
"A BEAST?!" I roared at the monstrous man, him being the only beast my eyes saw.
[True Abyssal Flame Patriarch]
My body began to shift, my bones popped, and my muscles became more dense. I suddenly grew drastically in height, and now the man who was only a little shorter than me was no much shorter than me. I felt my wings pop out of my back, I felt two hard appendages grow out of the top of my skull, and I felt something long and heavy grow out of my tail bone. I couldn't see myself, but something told me I was goddamn intimidating.
The other thing though? I was angry, yes, and I wanted Cici back in my arms, but there was also a cold calm feeling to my thoughts now. I didn't yell, and I didn't scream, as there was no need. This man before me was a bug to be crushed, but I wasn't going to make it fast, nor would it be painless. He would suffer dearly for taking my beloved Cici.
"This..." I said, my tone and calm voice making even my spine tingle, "This was the the last mistake you'll ever make."
