Chapter 5: Two Immortals, Please Wait_4
"So it's someone we know," Lan Wanyi said with a delighted smile, her eyes curving into crescents as she cooed and bargained, "How about giving us a discount, middle-aged, greasy, pudgy, and hideously wretched shopkeeper?"
"Scram!" the plump shopkeeper bellowed, "Add five hundred Immortal Crystals per person, or you can just walk to East Qian Country!"
"Hey, you little..."
Yunyang, the Enlightened One, was immediately incensed.
He had just been promoted to the Divine Power Territory and his temper had started to grow. Seeing the shopkeeper's attitude, he was about to blow his top, but Wang Licui swiftly grabbed him.
"Master, let Wan'er and me handle this little matter."
Saying this, Wang Licui turned to the plump shopkeeper and began to haggle, "If it's five hundred more, then five hundred it is, but that includes food."
Hearing this, Yunyang felt a twitch at the corner of his mouth, quickly took a deep breath, and silently resisted the urge to speak.
"For food, it's an extra thousand per person, and that's just for ordinary meat and rice—no Spirit Rice or Spirit Meat," the shopkeeper said with a face that read 'I'm getting my revenge and what can you do about it?', "If you want Spirit Rice or Spirit Meat, go eat your fill in East Qian."
"Does that include unlimited food?"
"It does."
"Here is eight thousand five hundred Immortal Crystals," Wang Licui, using the arithmetic taught by her Fourth Uncle, figured it was still a good deal and promptly paid up, "Three boat tickets, all-inclusive food, a number one single room, and a number one double room."
"Not bad, little girl, you're quite rich," the plump shopkeeper quickly took the money, issued the tickets, and hastily drew up a simple contract, acting as if he was afraid Wang Licui would change her mind.
As he watched Wang Licui sign the contract, his heart blossomed with joy. This truly gave him a satisfying sense of payback.
Yunyang also let out a sigh of relief, feeling content.
After the three of them had boarded the Flying Boat.
The attendant expressed his worries with a furrowed brow, "Shopkeeper, did we charge too much for the food? Won't they complain?"
"What if they do? We have a contract; it was willingly agreed upon—what's wrong if it's expensive?" the plump shopkeeper said smugly, "We traders value contracts above all."
While the shopkeeper was still gloating on one side, on the other, Licui and her two disciples had already boarded and were led by the boat's attendant towards the cabins.
"Sister Licui, that plump shopkeeper is such a nice person," Lan Wanyi said with a grateful face, "I will never speak ill of him again."
Wang Licui also nodded, "On our journey, we've encountered many bad people but also many good ones. I'm sure that plump shopkeeper is the typicall 'rough exterior, kind hearted' kind."
Yunyang couldn't help but twitch at the corner of his mouth.
There were too many things to mock in that statement, and he didn't even know where to start.
Meanwhile, from the sleeve of Wang Licui, a little Green Dragon about three feet long wriggled out. It glanced back at the plump shopkeeper, who was now just a tiny figure in the distance, and couldn't help feeling a bit of sympathy for him.
How on earth did that shopkeeper have the guts to offer unlimited food...
These two outwardly adorable girls had nearly devoured the offspring of their Green Dragon Clan, which was a terrifying prospect.
And as the Green Dragon Old Ancestor, in a hopeless situation, it had borrowed the Secret Technique left by its ancestors to reincarnate and find a way to ascend to a Level Thirteen Immortal Dragon. However, its grand plans had barely begun when it too nearly became a snack for the two girls.
How terrifying, terribly terrifying!
Even now, recalling everything that had happened felt like an inescapable nightmare.
"Please wait, Immortals."
Just then, a melodious and gentle male voice suddenly came from behind the three.
Wang Licui and Lan Wanyi turned around and saw two young men who were quite good-looking.
One of them, wearing a green robe and with a gallant and starry-eyed demeanor, greeted them with a smile, "My name is Jiang Xingyuan, and this is my good friend Gong Yang Ce. May I ask for the ladies' distinguished names, and are you also headed to East Qian Country?"
