Chapter 9: Julia Duncan x Cecilia Laroux: Chapter 9

Julia gets out of her carriage, then walks into the estate. She found her wife sitting there sipping tea. “You are a woman in your words. I impress.” She said with a cold and full of pride.

“It’s that okay, I cleaned myself first?” Julia asked.

Cecila put her teacup on the coffee table, then stood up. “I haven’t cleaned up myself yet.” Julia hugged her, then guided her to their bedroom.

Cecilia did not respond or try to struggle, but her gaze was warm and calm. She leaned onto her shoulder.

They arrived at Marquis Carrick’s estate, they were welcomed by the couple and pleased them to get inside. “How’s the garrison, Your Majesty. Should we have worried with our safety?”

Julia and Cecilia sat near the window. “You know... what kind person I am, right?”

Marquis Carrick chuckled as he poured them wine. “My husband was from...” he paused. Julia holds her hand tight, “...a commoner. He always got constant bullying from your parties.” Julia nodding her head.

“I will... punish them. We...”

“Sadly, the one who caused... the bullying was your dad. Do you want to go against your ‘dearest’ dad?” He said as he stared at her.

Julia was silent for a while, then sipping the mineral water. “In the name of my family, I apologize for... the matter, seriously. I will talk to my dad to also apologize to your husband. If you're not receiving an apology from him... you can report him to the Courtyard, and I will put the matter myself.”

Marquis Carrick nodding his head, they were having a pleasant conversation. Until the sound of loud bangs can be heard. Julia took a deep breath and sighed.

Alarm of warning can be heard loudly. Luckily, the citizen already secured. “I want you to...” Cecilia looked into her eyes, nodding her head slightly.

“Take this!” Julia grabbed the rifle, then loaded it and escorted her wife to safety. Cecilia remained calm and walked to her carriage. Julia shoots several enemies troop that try to attack her rally.

“Marquis Carrick and Marquis Hudson... it was nice to... see you, maybe we meet after the war.” Carrick nodded his head, then Julia put her earbuds on.

She’s got inside the carriage to protect her wife. “Are you alright?” She did not answer and kept staring into her eyes.

“Don’t die...” Julia can hear her voice. Low, but concerned. She holds her wife’s hand and reassures her. Until they arrived at the bunker, Cecila did not look back. Julia could see her back was shaking.

Julia gripped her rifle, then sighed. “This is Queen Julia Duncan. It’s for all citizens and the armies.”

Cecilia looked at her surroundings. She didn’t know anyone, except for Ms. Louis. She grips her hand. She just stood there with guards beside her. She looks at the long queue and approaches them.

“My...”

Cecilia shook her head and helped the troops inside the bunker distribute the blanket, food rations, and water.

“We’ve been attacked by the Republic of Oprestan. Their president declared a war and tried to use us as a black sheep. I want you to be strong for the kingdom. To my wife... I love you. Please, be strong for me, and for our citizens. They also need their second queen to guide them. May God bless your souls, people. To the armies, let's the party begin and don’t die.” Cecilia wiped her tears as she heard the three magic words.

Julia took a deep breath and tapped the earbud. “Nice speech.” Rose gives her the tablet. “The Oprestan’s army will blast us with a nuclear. Your decision was the right choice to let them in, Julia. All of them were banished because Mr. Dunce Sewer Rat was a dictator and committed a lot of war crimes. The Leader World Council... will hold the meeting tonight.”

Julia sighed. “It’s too long for the wait, Rose...” She shrugged her shoulders.

The Ministry of Defense bowed to her. “We almost wiped the wave 1 armies. We need another strategy.” Julia took a deep breath and sighed.

Julia snaps her fingers. “Do we still have rotten food?” The person in front of her furrowed their brows.

“Your majesty...”

“Where they camped?” The Ministry of Defense pointed to a wide area near their border. “Cut off their supplies chain, then send them rotten food. I want them to attack their country. How much causalities on our side?”

“Um...” She swiped the tablet’s screen. “10 injured soldiers.”

Julia nodding her head. “The one... who will attack us with nuclear, where they camped?” The Ministry of Defense pointed at the abandoned ruin in the woods. “Cut off their supply chain and do the same... it will become a global wide headline.”

The Ministry of Defense nodded his head and left her tent. Julia looked at Rose. “Are you okay?” Julia sighed and looked at her.

“Do you think... I’m wrong to refuse his ‘gift,’ Rose? I was thinking about my citizens and... those refugees are not from this country.” Rose sighed and left her alone in the tent. Julia pondered as she stared into the tent ceiling.

“Julia.” Julia jolted and fell from her chair as she heard her wife’s voice from the coms.

“Oh... I thought you were a ghost.” Cecilia chuckled. She sits elegantly, sipping her tea inside the plastic cup. None of them dare to speak. Julia leaned on the back of the wooden cabinet, then sighed.

“How’s your day going?” They said in sync.

Julia chuckled. None of them spoke, as both tried to neutralize their heart rate. “I tried not to cause casualties in this war. I just want to open their mind to fight for their freedom.”

Cecilia hummed. There’s no one who wanted to talk. Until Julia got another call. “The Leader World Council called; I hope this thing goes smoothly as I expect.” Julia gets back and sits at her desk.

Cecilia bites her lips. “I’m sorry, Queen Laroux. We’ve got trouble here.” She is nodding her head. Her gaze was cold and firm.

She hangs up the call before Julia can finish her words. “Lead me the way...” She’s wearing an earbud. Crinkled sound heard from her heels as she looked at the woman in front of her battled because her son beat another person’s daughter.
