Ragnarok: Alpha and Omega

Chapter 17: Chapter 16: Plus Ultra

After a while, Ragnarok opened his eyes and saw the carnage Jason was unleashing on their opponents.

Like a blur, Jason disappeared, and in the next instant, he was right in front of the axe wielder. But this time, instead of pulling out a normal gun, he drew something different—something futuristic.

A sci-fi-style plasma gun.

Jason placed the plasma gun under the axe wielder's chin and pulled the trigger.

A massive **BOOM** erupted as the blast sent the brute flying into the air.

The crowd watched in stunned silence, mouths hanging open at the unbelievable scene.

Meanwhile, the weird one attempted to slow time again, but Jason had already anticipated it. He had fired five bullets, each traveling at different angles. If time manipulation was used again, the bullets would hit the barrier, rebound, and still land a hit when time normalized.

Just as expected, the moment time returned to normal, the bullets struck exactly as Jason had planned.

Determined to end it, Jason appeared before the axe wielder once more. This time, he materialized a metal bar and slammed it into the brute's gut, sending him flying.

Without hesitation, Jason flew after him, catching up in midair. He brought his weapon down hard onto the axe wielder's head, causing him to plummet.

Before he could hit the ground, Jason appeared beneath him and delivered an upper strike, launching him back up. Then, with another powerful bash from above, he sent him crashing down again.

As the battered axe wielder tumbled toward the arena floor, Jason left him to feel the pain.

Then, shifting his gaze to the weird one, the weird one saw that the tide of battle was changing.

Desperate, the weird one slowed time even further and grabbed the fallen axe, preparing to strike Jason down.

But Jason was now able to move even with time slowed. Then, as if an outburst erupted from within him, time snapped back to normal, and the shockwave from the release sent the weird one flying.

Just as victory seemed certain, Ragnarok's eyes widened—the axe wielder was standing again.

As if those attacks hadn't harmed him at all.

A green glow surrounded his body, and Ragnarok immediately understood—he was healing.

Though exhausted, he wasn't out of the fight. Without hesitation, he rushed toward Jason, his axe raised to strike.

Ragnarok, summoning every ounce of strength he had left, shouted, "Jason, watch out!"

Hearing Ragnarok's voice, Jason glanced back and saw the brute charging toward him—and noticed the rapid healing.

Jason's eyes narrowed. "So, you can heal? Fine. Then I'll give you an attack you can't recover from."

Straight out of a sci-fi battlefield, a massive plasma cannon began charging in front of him.

Then—BOOM!

At the same time, he summoned an arsenal of weapons, positioning them at multiple angles, all aimed at both opponents.

The crowd fell into stunned silence.

Then—chaos erupted.

Jason delivered a devastating barrage of gunfire, each shot perfectly aimed—not a single bullet strayed toward Ragnarok.

The air filled with the deafening roar of explosions, plasma rounds tearing through the arena like a storm of destruction. Bullets, missiles, energy blasts—everything fired at once, raining down on the axe wielder and the weird one.

The crowd was left speechless, their eyes wide as they watched a single man overwhelm two terrifying opponents with sheer firepower.

The weird one tried to slow time again, but Jason was already moving. He had adapted, pushing himself beyond his limits—his speed, his instincts, his sheer will refusing to be stopped.

Appearing behind the weird one, Jason didn't even give him a chance to react. A gun pressed to his back.

"You like slowing time, huh?" Jason muttered. "Let's see you slow this."

BOOM!

A point-blank plasma shot erupted, sending the weird one crashing into the barrier, his body convulsing from the sheer force.

Meanwhile, the axe wielder, despite the relentless attacks, still pushed forward, his healing keeping him in the fight. Jason clicked his tongue.

"You're really stubborn, huh?"

Then—a shift in the air.

The arena grew silent.

Jason smirked as a massive energy cannon materialized above him, pulsating with an otherworldly glow.

"If healing is your trick," Jason said, raising a single hand, "then I'll just erase you entirely."

The cannon fired.

A pillar of energy engulfed the axe wielder in a blinding explosion, shaking the entire arena. The crowd shielded their eyes as a wave of heat washed over them.

Then—silence.

As the dust settled, Jason lowered his guns, exhaling. The axe wielder lay motionless. The weird one barely twitched.

It was over.

Jason turned toward Ragnarok, who was still struggling to stand. A grin formed on Jason's face.

"Still breathing?" he asked.

Ragnarok, battered and bruised, let out a weak chuckle. "Took you long enough."

The announcer's voice boomed across the arena.

"The winners—THE DUO GODS!"

The crowd erupted, their earlier doubts shattered.

Jason extended a hand to Ragnarok.

"Come on," he said. "We've got more fights ahead of us."

Ragnarok grinned as he grabbed Jason's hand.

"Heh. Damn right we do."

Then Jason carried me toward the medics while the retrieval team arrived to take the other two away.

Who would've thought we'd survive that?

But in the depths of the arena, hidden beyond the lights and roaring crowd... someone watched in silence. Their gaze wasn't of admiration—but of cold, calculated interest.

Like a hunter locking onto its prey
