Re-Birth of a Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2434: Invasion

*SWOOSH* *CRUSH* *SPLASH*

The sounds of Sam whistling through the wind, the trees and rocks being crushed, along with the water spheres constantly hitting the Bison behind him were heard.

By now, Sam managed to piss off every single Bison in the herd and they were all chasing him. He even lured them out of their original territory. They are now running amok in a neutral empty territory without any beasts.

Soon, they could see an empty patch that didn't have such lush vegetation. Sam increased his speed and dashed towards the mouth of the forest leading to that empty patch, followed by the Bison herd.

And as they did…

*SWOOSH*

Both Sam and the herd that jumped out of the forest disappeared from the spot. The forest that appeared like the home of chaos just a moment ago, suddenly went back to a deafening silence.

Meanwhile…

Far away from the Haven of Beasts.

One of the cities that is completely under the control of the Hou Yi Academy team. The city just finished the defensive measures and the alert mechanism installation. Just like how Arkiv was sent with a team in a certain direction, a team is being led by one of the other candidates here.

The whole city is filled with only the forces under the Hou Yi academy's team. There are no citizens. Even the natives here are the combat force that the academy team already recruited and combined into their ranks.

This is one of the nexus spots that they use, you can even call it a secondary base of operations. All the goods and resources collected are transported here and through the space gate they are sent to the main base, which happened to have a green portal under its control.

They send back the goods to the Academy realm, where their team members, do what needs to be done with them.

The scout team led by a woman called Imari is currently flying over the city as she observed the formation. Her team followed her lead and spread out to make the necessary checks and inform the guards about Sam and his possible appearance.

At the entrance of the city, a small mercenary squad of four people are checking if the entrance mechanism is working.

It is pretty simple. People with token should be able to get in, people without it, shouldn't. And that only works through this main entrance. If they fly in through some random direction, the formation will still repel them.

As they were testing, they couldn't help but grumble.

"I can't believe what these guys are so worried about for.

A second grade student is getting all of them so riled up and anxious."

"True. I still remember that the students from academy realm in the olden days were much more daring and powerful.

At least, they never really got all bothered about one student." Your next read awaits at My Virtual Library Empire

"You are absolutely right. Maybe the quality of students is going down. I have followed behind some really bold people back in the day, when I was working as an errand boy in the academy realm."

As they were discussing, one of them noticed something a couple of miles away and frowned.

"What the fuck is that? Someone is running towards us?"

"Not just a person, are those Bison?"

Even before they could finish the thoughts, the images of the man the herd of Bison became much more clearer as they were just a few meters away from them.

Behind the herd was a large spatial tear through which the swarm of Bison are raging out following Sam towards the city.

When Sam was just ten meters away from the city, his body glowed with silver lightning and a golden staff appeared in his hands.

"It has been a while."

*BOOM*

He kicked the ground and rose high into the sky, far higher than the dome of the formation.

Silver lightning enveloped him, previously when he was destroying the Dayus's city, if he looked like a god of lightning, right now he looked as if the lightning has taken a human form with all of his destruction intact.

By now, everyone in the city has been alerted. Imari who was inspecting the dome, saw Sam's figure fly over the dome. Lightning cracked all over his staff.

Void style, ripple style, repel style.

He combined all three and with his full power.

*BOOM*

The staff landed on the dome. The barrier shook. Silver lightning spread all over the barrier dome. Like ripples, it spread from the point of contact to the nodes. And the void style triggered itself, exploding. The energy spread evenly and explosion happened synchronously.

Finally, the repel style triggered in.

It spread out the explosive energy of the lighting into the city, instead of sending it. It acted as a one-time barrier that reflected the energy back in.

*RUMBLE*

All the defensive mechanisms triggered. The buildings started crumbling one after another. The barrier dome is gone.

*RUMBLE*

Apart from the quake of the buildings that was caused by the explosion, they saw the herd of Bison that are charging into the city.

Sam landed past the barrier and he hovered in front of Imari who looked at him in shock.

The mercenaries and the rest of the Hou Yi Academy's team members stationed in the city were all in the shock.

*BAM* *BAM*

*MOOOOOOOOOO*

The herd invaded the city. The walls crumbled without its protective formation and they entered the city like they owned it.

The image is pretty similar to the one Sam left behind in the forest. Everything crumbled. The forces came back to their senses and started fighting back. Even though the herd was led by a Bison at the peak of second grade, that was not the only Bison at that power level, so both sides are pretty balanced.

At least, enough to cover the mercenary and native forces under the team's payroll.

Of course, Sam is left alone facing with Imari and most of her team.

A total of ten members. All students of the Hou Yi academy. And all of them archers. They surrounded Sam and kept a good distance between him and themselves. All of them held their bows and looked at him coldly.

Imari's face turned colder with every passing second as the destruction ensued in the city. The herd of bison seemed to have taken every human in sight as their enemy and the battles continued.

"You are a dead man. You should have used the same tricks as you usually do. Since you came in by yourself, there is no way you are going to walk out of here." One of the archers yelled.

Sam smiled. Lightning around him disappeared and spatial energy churned around a bit.

*BOOM*

An arrow flew out from one of the archers and it exploded right behind Sam.

He moved a step forward and stopped.

Sam smirked at the archer.

He stopped Sam from using the spatial blink. He anticipated it and hit the spot where Sam's spatial energy is gathered. The explosion disrupted his process.

Fast, precise and at perfect timing.

He was almost impressed. Almost.

"As he said. You are not walking out of here alive. You cannot escape. You are going to experience what it means to battle true archers.

You got too cocky and came here alone. So, fight with us alone and die here alone."

Sam spun his staff and with a flash of light, a few figures appeared around him.

*ROAR*

In a unified roar all the beasts stood in circle with Sam. Yanwu, Sky, Raiju, Forest bear, Dia, Mia, Shadow mice, the golden ape and the void hopper.

Including Sam, exactly a team of ten.

Just the same number as their opponents.

"You were saying something? About me being alone?"

All the opponents nocked their arrows and got ready to fight. Sam threw a space jade into the air and hit with his staff as he charged at Imari.

The space jade broke and dozens of bird puppets flew out. They turned into dark flashes as they spread throughout the city. The beasts also picked an opponent of their own and engaged.

*SWOOSH* *SWOOSH* *BOOM* *BOOM*

The battles began.

Sam dodged the arrows that came at him. Imari shot the arrows at a rapid pace and they are creating faint explosions as they reached Sam. She didn't dare to stand back and focus on creating attacks with bigger impact.

Even though Sam's cultivation is lower than hers, she didn't dare to make the mistake of underestimating him. If given a small gap, she is sure he would easily deal with her.

She was on constant move, always keeping Sam in front of her eyes, not letting him near her. Her movements were small and precise. She didn't take huge leaps at a time. Instead, kept her movements concise just enough to keep the optimal gap for shooting him with arrows.

Sam was fast and his moves were pretty efficient as well. But it appeared like his attack range with the staff is limited. Even when he swung and the energy materialized to hit her from the range, it wasn't too fast. Allowing her to dodge.

She got used to the rhythm and she even had faint breathing space to check up on the battles of her teammates.

That was until, Sam decided that he had enough warm up without using any elements.
