Reality Quest: Lookism

Chapter 54: Chapter 52: Laws

To understand a bit the future plot, read the Lookism manhwa from chapter 527, but if you want to understand really really well, read from the beginning, or if you're lazy, read from chapter 519 as there, is where Gun's backstory begins.

Note that it's really vital to understand it, as i will not explain everything because too much info is there, so i would just make water chapters, and to keep the quality for the readers that have already read the manhwa, i will only include the necessary info as well the small AU things i will add for the plot holes.

Did yall see the last chapter of questisn? Many argue about the timeline of it, i think it's 1A but Johan taught CQC to Haru, so I'm confused, but i refuse to believe it's long after the Busan arc because they look too young, as well the clothes.

Tekka says that they have no importance since it's narrative but we all know that man is a character.

Jin's eyes snapped open, his chest heaving as he found himself back in the serene surroundings of Central Park. The familiar sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the breeze surrounded him, a stark contrast to the chaos and near-death he had just experienced.

He instinctively touched his torso, then his ribs, expecting pain or the sticky warmth of blood. But there was nothing. His clothes were spotless, his body unscathed. It was as if the battle with Goo had been a vivid nightmare.

Jin sat down on a nearby bench, his legs feeling weak beneath him. His breath was uneven, and his heart pounded furiously. The memory of Goo's chair leg piercing his side and the suffocating curtain wrapping around his neck lingered in his mind.

"I was... so close to dying." he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible.

Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to open the system panel to distract his racing thoughts. A new notification blinked, drawing his attention.

---

[QUEST COMPLETE]

Rewards:

50,000 Credits

Weapon Mastery Upgrade

---

Jin's eyes scanned the rewards, and his lips curved into a small smile despite his lingering unease. He quickly accessed the Weapon Mastery skill, eager to see how it had improved.

---

[Weapon Mastery – Upgraded]

Your ability to wield weapons has significantly improved.

Increased precision and adaptability with any weapon.

Damage output is boosted by 30% when using improvised or advanced weapons.

Can now identify weak points in enemy defenses with any weapon.

---

"Now that's what I'm talking about." Jin muttered, his voice regaining a hint of its usual confidence. He leaned back against the bench and stared at the blue sky above. The thrill of victory mixed uneasily with the weight of the battle he had just survived.

"Goo was no joke." he murmured. "If that was me at my limit... I need to push further. Much further."

After taking another deep breath, Jin reopened the system panel and navigated to the Shop section. His finger moved steadily toward the Martial Arts tab, and a list of techniques appeared before him.

---

Martial Arts:

1. Kyokushin Karate (Gun's Style) – 20,000 Credits

Minimum Stats Required: 700

---

Jin smirked as he read the description of the first option. His mind flashed back to Gun's brutal efficiency in combat and the raw power behind his movements.

But more importantly his durability.

"This... this is what I need." he said, glancing around the park. The serene environment seemed too calm for what he was about to do.

He tapped the purchase button, and the system chimed in response.

---

[PURCHASE SUCCESSFUL]

Kyokushin Karate (Gun's Style) acquired.

You will now undergo a special learning quest. Time will resume in a slower speed in the real world during this training.

---

A brilliant blue aura enveloped Jin, its light swirling around his body like a cocoon. He felt his muscles tense and his mind sharpen as the system prepared to transport him into the lookism system world.

Jin's grin widened. 'The Reality Quest world is going to feel way too easy after this. Let's see just how much I can grow.'

With that, the blue aura intensified, and the park around him dissolved into a void, signaling the start of his journey to master the martial art.

....

Jin floated in the infinite void, the blue aura surrounding him growing brighter, almost blinding. His body felt weightless, suspended in a realm where time and space seemed meaningless. Just as he began to close his eyes, exhaustion finally catching up to him, the system's cold, mechanical voice rang out, reverberating through the void.

---

[NOTICE]

The Reality Quest world and the Lookism system world operate under different laws of reality.

Your current stats and abilities will impact the Lookism world differently. Strength, speed, durability, and techniques will adjust to fit the physical laws of that reality.

To maximize your potential and learning efficiency for this mission, your body will be temporarily reverted to an age of 14, nearing 15 years old.

---

Jin's eyes snapped open, his mind racing as he processed the announcement. "You're making me younger?!" he exclaimed, his voice echoing in the empty void.

The system continued, unbothered by his outburst.

---

This adjustment is necessary to align your physical form with the learning parameters of the quest. The younger form will allow for optimal absorption of techniques and combat adaptability.

Prepare for physical regression. Consciousness will now be suspended.

---

"I understand." Jin nodded as his body was overcome by a strange sensation.

He felt his muscles relax as a warm, tingling current coursed through him. His body began to feel lighter, smaller. He instinctively touched his face, his hands brushing against softer skin, his jawline less pronounced. His limbs felt thinner, less robust than they had been moments ago.

His vision blurred, and his surroundings grew darker. The last thing he felt was his heart slowing, his body surrendering to the changes as consciousness slipped away.

....

The sun cast a golden hue over the quiet streets as an elderly woman made her way to her small shop. Her steps were deliberate yet light, her hands clutching the keys to the familiar door she had opened every morning for decades. The shop, a humble place that sold snacks, drinks, and trinkets, was a cornerstone of the neighborhood, where locals would often stop by to chat or pick up something for the day.

Unlocking the door, she hummed an old tune as she stepped inside. The familiar scent of her shop greeted her, a mix of sweet and savory aromas from the snacks lining the shelves. She busied herself with the usual morning routine: wiping the counters, restocking shelves, and ensuring everything was in place.

As she stepped outside to sweep the pavement, her broom came to an abrupt halt. Her gaze fell on a young boy sprawled near the side of her shop, his hand casually resting in a bag of chips. The sight startled her, and she gasped loudly, dropping her broom.

"Thief! Someone call the police!" she shouted, her voice carrying through the quiet street. Her heart raced as she backed away, pointing accusingly at the boy.

Jin stirred, his brows furrowing as the woman's panicked cries reached his ears. Slowly, he opened his eyes, blinking as he took in his surroundings. The bright morning light stung his vision, and he frowned slightly, his mind still foggy.

Sitting up, he glanced at the bag of chips in his hand, then at the elderly woman who continued to shout. His expression remained calm as he paused mid-motion, casually stuffing a chip into his mouth.

Crunch.

The woman's shouting faltered for a moment, her face a mix of anger and disbelief. Jin ignored her, eating another chip with deliberate slowness, as though the chaos around him was none of his concern.

After finishing the handful of chips, he stood, dusting himself off. His clothes felt looser than he remembered, his body smaller, lighter, but he pushed the thought aside.

He turned to the woman. "What day is it? What year? And where exactly am I?"

The woman's eyes widened, her shouting resuming with more fervor. "You little robber! How dare you eat my chips and act so casual! I'm calling the police!"

Jin scratched the back of his head, feigning confusion. "I don't remember why I'm here." His tone was even, but the lie came easily. There was no way he could explain the truth to her, that he had just been transported from another reality.

The woman's panic didn't subside, but she hesitated at his words, eyeing him suspiciously. Jin studied her Korean features and the layout of the street. The language on the shop signs confirmed his suspicion.

"I must be close." he muttered under his breath, his sharp mind piecing things together.

The woman pointed a trembling finger at him. "Stay right there! The police will handle you!"

Jin sighed softly, looking at the empty street and then back at the woman. "I'm not going to cause any trouble." His voice remained calm.

He picked up the empty chip bag, crumpling it in his hand before placing it on the shop's counter. "For the trouble." he said flatly, glancing at the woman once more before turning away.

The woman stared after him, unsure whether to feel relieved or more suspicious. As Jin walked down the street, he stuffed his hands into his pockets, his mind already working to assess his next steps.

----

I am not nerfing him, but i wrote the laws things to adjust the plot holes Lookism always makes about strength.

This means that the strength of the characters will be shown differently instead of the simple impacts that remains even with top tiers fighting.

It makes no sense 😭🙏🏿

I wanna see buildings get obliterated when high tiers fight! But PTJ just does the same impacts most of the time.😭
