Rebirth: Building the Strongest Party with my Overpowered Harem.

Chapter 7: Flames of Echidna.

For one's party rank to increase, there was a series of tasks that needed to take place.

If an F rank wanted to increase to an E rank, they would need to complete 15 F-rank tasks in a row, with no misses or failures.

The same went for E ranks to D ranks.

In fact, there have been cases of B-rank parties suddenly getting all the way to S rank. This was due to the fact that there was also a system in place for double ranking.

You needed to complete 25 tasks of the upper rank to get a boost that high.

That was what Adonis aimed for.

While, as an F-rank party, the guild would most likely not give him any quests above E rank, it still worked well for him, as he was not only there just to increase his party ranks.

No, he wanted to grow stronger.

"Here they come..." Adonis spoke, seated on a tree branch in the middle of a forest.

Filo was on the ground, her gaze hardened and fists clenched as she hid behind a tree.

Right, the enemies approaching them were not ones they could carelessly approach.

Green goblins, about ten in number.

Adonis counted.

'Just as the quest I got from the guild said, my job here is to report back if I spot any monsters in the vicinity. It would seem these goblins were attacking humans in the nearby village. Our job is to confirm that claim. I'm sure another party will be the one to take them out.'

Adonis looked at Filo. 'Welp, not that I plan on doing that,' he grinned. 'These are my prey. I'll be damned if I let them walk away.'

Baam!

Adonis dropped down from the tree branch and landed right in front of the moving goblins.

Immediately, the goblins paused, pulling out their weapons while giving out monstrous grumbles.

"Hey there, fellas, where are you heading to at this time of day? Shouldn't you be in your dungeons or something?" Adonis taunted.

Monsters such as goblins were known to reside in dungeons, as their bodies could not withstand the mana of the outside world.

Yet, there have been cases of monsters adapting to the mana outside after constant battles against humans.

In other words, if there was a monster outside the dungeon, it meant they had tons of experience.

"Are you surprised? Come on, don't be like that. We both know you shouldn't be here. I was only stating the—"

Before Adonis could complete his words, one of the goblins charged forward with a wooden bat in its hand.

'So fast...' Adonis whispered.

He took a step back, the goblin's arms already thrown in an attack.

From nowhere—

Boom!

Filo arrived in their midst, her fist spiraling with flames.

"Back off!!!" she yelled, her fist connecting to the face of one goblin, which not only caused its body to burn but also crushed its skull before sending it flying back toward the rest of the goblins.

The rest of the goblins all looked shocked—a single attack was all it took to take out one of their own.

"Whoo, way to go, Filo." Adonis said with a smile.

As of right now, he had no fighting skills that would help him in combat against goblins. Thus, Filo was going to be the fist he lacked.

Adonis turned his gaze back at the goblins. It would seem they were ready to attack again.

But before then, the sight of the burning goblin on the ground caught his eye.

The red flakes seemed to be increasing by the minute, despite the goblin being dead.

'System, show me the skill she just used.'

[Request confirmed.]

[Flame of Echidna: The flames that never die. The user has the ability to manipulate these flames.]

Adonis was genuinely impressed.

'So she awakened this skill after reaching S rank, huh? I'm jealous. Eh? Hold on, I remember the system saying something about me being able to gain the skills of my party members.'

[That is correct. Would you like to acquire all skills from your party member, Filo?]

(Note: You can only gain one skill from your party members, and skills will be different in comparison to the original.)

Adonis smiled gently. 'Sure.'

[Notice: You have gained a new skill.]

[Chains of Echidna: This skill allows you to control chains blessed with the powers of the undying flames.]

'Undying flames, huh...' Adonis thought to himself.

"Adonis! Look out!"

Filo yelled, grabbing the arrow that was aimed directly at Adonis's face.

Thankfully, she caught it before it could cause any damage to him.

"Eh? Thank you, Filo," he spoke.

Filo, on the other hand, seemed even angrier than she was earlier.

With a cold voice, she uttered, "Adonis, can I kill them now?"

'Wow, to think this was the same girl who couldn't even hurt a fly a few weeks ago.' A small smile showed on his face. "Do so, but try not to damage them too much. We have to show their bodies to the guild."

"Roger."

Filo took a step forward.

A fast one.

In the blink of an eye, she had shoved her fist through the heart of a goblin, tossing it aside after the flames had devoured it.

With another burst of speed, she grabbed the head of another goblin, slamming its head to the ground and then continuing to stomp it.

"How dare you try to hurt Adonis?" she said silently as she continued the beatdown.

Over the course of the next few minutes, Filo dedicated time to beating up the goblins.

All ten of the goblins died by her hands.

Adonis watched from a distance, unsure whether he should be happy she had gotten so strong or scared.

"Adonis, should we go kill more goblins?" she asked while holding the head of a goblin.

"Easy, girl," Adonis said as he walked toward her, a small, nervous smile on his face. "I doubt there are any more goblins in the area. And besides, I still have something I need to do here."

"Something to do? What is that?" Filo asked.

"Well..." Adonis stretched his hand forward. "I want to revive the dead."
