Chapter 25
Shen Wu pondered for a moment. “I know, Xiao Xi, you don’t have to worry. Grandpa is already aware of this matter.”
Chu Muxi nodded, “Well, grandpa, if you need anything, just tell me. I am much more sensible now; you can believe me; I can handle things!” He said earnestly.
Shen Wu smiled, “Okay, okay, I know. Our Xiao Xi has grown up and is a good boy.”
“Grandpa, I think we should use a little trick. What do you think?” Chu Muxi suggested.
“What is your plan? Oh? Let’s listen to it.” Shen Wu asked curiously, observing his grandson’s bright eyes.
Chu Muxi sat up and explained, “If Chu Tianhao really wants this planet, let’s create an illusion for him. He hasn’t suspected me yet. I can go and tell him that you intend to hand over the planet to me, but none of your subordinates agreed and insisted on auctioning the planet. Then we will-”
Shen Wu listened carefully to his grandson’s strategy, nodding approvingly.
After Chu Muxi finished, Shen Wu praised, “Xiao Xi, I can’t believe how much you’ve grown! You’re truly the grandson of Shen Wu. Smart and capable!”
“Grandpa, you’re selling your own things. You only brags about yourself,” Chu Muxi joked.
Shen Wu burst out laughing, “Yes, my grandson has naturally inherited my intelligence. Nothing wrong with that.”
“Yes! Nothing wrong with it! Hehe.” Being able to make light of things was one of the benefits of rebirth.
They exchanged a few more words before falling asleep.
Before going to bed, Chu Muxi wondered vaguely if Lu Junzhi was still busy.
Would he stay up late?
Being a marshal was undoubtedly demanding.
Did he enjoy the coffee? Did he like the taste?
With these thoughts, Chu Muxi drifted into a peaceful sleep.
As he slept, Shen Wu silently observed Chu Muxi. “My child, you are my only relative. Grandpa must protect you and not let you be harmed in the slightest.”
.
Chu Muxi set the alarm and woke up early the next morning.
Despite the presence of a home robot in the villa, it seemed Lu Junzhi hadn’t activated it for breakfast. Assuming it was only set for house cleaning, Chu Muxi decided to rise a bit earlier and prepare breakfast for everyone.
His culinary skills were exceptional. When Shen Lan was sick during his childhood, and Chu Tianhao was neglecting her, the little Chu Muxi took charge. He made soup for his mother and prepared easily digestible food.
He didn’t want his mother to rely solely on nutritional supplements. Despite their nutritional value, they lacked flavor. His sick mother, weakened and with no appetite, received indifference from Chu Tianhao, who claimed to be busy and didn’t even bother to hire a nurse for Shen Lan.
Chu Muxi thought Chu Tianhao was genuinely occupied and had forgotten about it. He initially intended to bring it up but never found the right opportunity.
Reflecting on it now, he chuckled at the realization that Chu Tianhao was too busy seeking pleasure with a mistress to remember his first wife lying in the hospital.
Although Lu Junzhi mentioned that no one had been living in the villa, the refrigerator was stocked with fresh ingredients, and various condiments were available. It seemed that even if people didn’t reside there, someone took care of it.
Considering his mother’s status as Princess Nefu, Chu Muxi began to understand a bit more.
Unaware of Lu Junzhi’s food preferences, Chu Muxi prepared a variety of Chinese and Western breakfast options.
.
When Shen Wu descended the stairs and saw the breakfast spread on the dining table, he exclaimed, “Xiao Xi, did you make this yourself or did you go out to buy it early in the morning?”
Chu Muxi looked around, realizing Lu Junzhi wasn’t present, and was a bit puzzled. Did he wake up later than them?
From behind, a deep voice greeted, “Good morning.”
Chu Muxi turned abruptly to find Lu Junzhi, who had just returned from a run. He was clad in a military green vest, overalls, and Martin boots, sweat streaming down his face. A droplet traced down his forehead, slid along his neck, down the collar, and disappeared into the vest.
Chu Muxi blushed again, quickly averting his gaze. “I didn’t know what you like, so I prepared a variety. Go take a shower, and then we can have breakfast.”
Lu Junzhi surveyed the lavish spread. “Okay.”
Shen Wu was already seated at the dining table, smiling. “This is the first time I’ve had breakfast made by my grandson. Xiao Xi, I didn’t expect you to have such skills.”
“Grandpa, try it and see if it suits your appetite.” Chu Muxi hurriedly filled a bowl of porridge for Shen Wu and pushed the baked beef patties toward him.
“Grandpa, please have a piece of beef.”
Shen Wu took a sip of porridge, sampled a piece of beef patty, and praised, “It’s delicious! Xiao Xi, the patty you made is really chewy, and the meat filling is well-blended.”
“Grandpa, I’m glad you like it.” Chu Muxi smiled and noticed Lu Junzhi descending the stairs.
“Marshal, please sit down and have breakfast.”
“Lu-dage,” Lu Junzhi said suddenly after sitting down.
Chu Muxi blinked, “What?”
Smiling beside him, Shen Wu remarked, “Hey, I’m just saying, Xiao Xi, don’t always shout ‘marshal, marshal, marshal.’ It sounds so formal. Haha, it’s enough trouble for him. Xiao Lu, if you need anything in the future, just let me know, and I’ll help without hesitation. So, Xiao Xi, call him Lu-dage. You actually met Xiao Lu when you were a child. Back then, you were still chasing after him, calling him Junzhi-gege, haha.”
Chu Muxi said in embarrassment, “Grandpa, why don’t I remember?”
‘Junzhi-gege????, my God, so embarrassing!!’
He poured a cup of soy milk for Lu Junzhi. “This is my freshly squeezed soy milk. I noticed you have everything in the refrigerator. Has someone been taking care of it here for a long time?” he asked curiously.
Lu Junzhi nodded and took a sip of soy milk. “Well, my mother has always had people come over to take care of it.”
Chu Muxi thought as he observed Lu Junzhi’s expression. Seeing that he enjoyed the soy milk and beef patties, his eyebrows raised slightly, and he seemed in a good mood. Not a bad sign.
He breathed a small sigh of relief, but a slight worry lingered that Lu Junzhi might not appreciate his efforts.
“It’s delicious.” Lu Junzhi, whether exceptionally perceptive or transparent in his thoughts, spoke seriously, “It’s more delicious than any breakfast I’ve ever had.”
Was this person truly as cold and heartless as he appears on the outside?
Chu Muxi couldn’t help but feel that the occasional words from Lu Junzhi were unexpectedly touching, comparable to sweet words exchanged between lovers.
Chu Muxi poured himself a glass of orange juice, contemplating silently.
Did Lu Junzhi know that he’s the type of person who often says things with a deep meaning?
