Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets

Chapter 358: Warmth in the Hospital Room

"I want an apple," Mo Siyu's voice rang out.

Tang Yue put down the notebook in her hand, washed the apple, peeled it, and cut it into small pieces, making it easier to eat. She asked, "Is this the only medicine for today, or are there more after this bottle?"

"There's one more small bottle," Mo Siyu replied, picking up the notebook she had put down. It was a leaf-green notebook, quite refreshing, a kind that didn't have lined pages—it was essentially a simple sketchbook.

It was filled with drawings of various clothes, accompanied by all kinds of annotations.

Even though they were just drawn in a notebook, you could still feel the comfort and pleasure the designs would evoke if they were actual clothes.

If these clothes were worn, they should not only look beautiful but also feel comfortable.

Mo Siyu flipped through page after page and remarked, "Xiao Yue, if you add color, it should look even better."

"Yes, I rushed out this time and didn't bring colored pens, so I couldn't add colors," Tang Yue sat beside him, proudly saying, "What do you think, aren't the clothes I drew beautiful?"

"Beautiful." Mo Siyu praised sincerely, and as he flipped further, he came across the colored draft. With colors, the clash and the contrast's beauty became even more intense.

"My wife is so clever," Mo Siyu said proudly, much happier than when he had achieved something himself.

Being praised by others was always worth celebrating.

Let alone that the person praising her was her utmost admired hero. Tang Yue felt joyously sweet in her heart, happily saying, "Of course, if I were terrible, wouldn't that mean you have particularly bad taste?"

"Xiao Yue." Mo Siyu suddenly gazed at her with serious intent.

Being intently stared at by those dark eyes made her heart skip a beat.

"No matter what, you are Mo Siyu's wife," Mo Siyu suddenly said.

It was a bit inexplicable.

Tang Yue looked at him, puzzled.

Mo Siyu continued, "The face, I'll earn it for you."

Suddenly, Tang Yue had a realization and understood what Mo Siyu meant.

Did he feel that she didn't need to try so hard, that no matter how she was, she was his wife and wouldn't disgrace him?

Tang Yue's lips curled up, saying, "Uncle Mo, when did you become so good at making people happy?"

Tang Yue blinked her bright eyes.

Mo Siyu gently pinched her nose, saying, "These are my heartfelt words."

"Ouch." Tang Yue wrinkled her nose and shook her head, saying, "You're going to squash my nose."

"It'd still look good even if it were squashed."

"No way."

Unable to help herself, Tang Yue rolled her eyes, handed over the peeled apple, snatched back the notebook, and continued working on her designs.

Sister An Yu said that Xingyao Studio was now on the right track. Xingyao clothing stores were blossoming everywhere. Huaxia's ten famous cities all had Xingyao clothing stores, which were currently being renovated. She needed to draw more design drafts, or else the clothes might not keep up.

Fortunately, Tang Yue's inspiration was continuously flowing. All she had to do was put it on paper, then revise any improper parts.

What she lacked most now was time.

Tang Yue sat there, and drew all afternoon.

Besides Mo Siyu deliberately asking her to serve tea and water, and peel fruits, Tang Yue just sat there without moving.

Mo Siyu was planning for the latter half of the year, thinking that since his wife could earn so much money, he shouldn't always work for others. In the hospital room, one sat on the bed, the other leaned against the chair, and neither disturbed the other.

Warm sunshine poured in from outside, filling the room with warmth.

When Zhao Xiangqian and the others arrived, they saw such a warm scene. Even though neither of the two spoke, the occasional eye contact and shared smiles radiated affection, a kind of indescribable beauty.

"Little sister-in-law is really impressive," Zhao Xiangqian praised softly.

Li Wei scoffed, "Everyone knows that."

"Little sister-in-law is Brother Mo's nemesis," Yan Dong had just finished speaking when he changed his term to "Achilles' heel."

Li Wei and Zhao Xiangqian nodded in agreement, acknowledging that if there's anyone Brother Mo truly cared about, it was the little sister-in-law.

The three of them whispered at the doorway for a while and did not go in to disturb them. For dinner, they had specially brought it over, not from the hospital's cafeteria, but made by themselves using the kitchen.

The cafeteria food wasn't tasty, and there wasn't much meat, so the three of them had put a lot of effort into making something nutritious for Brother Mo.

Two dishes and a bone soup, enough for both of them to eat.

Tang Yue invited the three of them to eat together, but Zhao Xiangqian and Li Wei ran off faster than rabbits after setting down the food, not wanting to be a third wheel.

"I don't know who cooked it, but it tastes pretty good." Tang Yue tasted it and found it better than the hospital cafeteria.

"Yan Dong cooked the dishes, Zhao Xiangqian stewed the soup, Li Wei washed the vegetables," Mo Siyu answered without hesitation.

Tang Yue smiled and said, "They really have a clear division of labor, a perfect match."

"Here, this big bone is yours," Tang Yue gave Mo Siyu the part of the bone with marrow in it.

Mo Siyu picked the meat off it and said, "The meat is yours."

Soon, Tang Yue's bowl was filled with meat.

Tang Yue puffed her cheeks and unhappily said, "Are you trying to fatten me up?"

Mo Siyu looked her up and down and replied, "Being a bit fat is good."

Tang Yue glared at him and said, "Making me fat will embarrass you when we go out." Tang Yue took a big bite of the meat, filling her mouth. The soup was well stewed, and the pork was tender, indeed very tasty.

"I like you a bit chubby," Mo Siyu responded, "Besides, you're my wife, as long as I like it, why should we care what others think?"

Tang Yue focused on eating and simply stopped talking to him.

After dinner, Mo Siyu held Tang Yue's hand for a walk to digest, his wounds were fine as long as he didn't make large movements.

Walking at night under the stars was romantic, the evening breeze was slightly cool.

Tang Yue drew her coat tighter around herself and thought for a moment before saying, "My biological father came looking for my mom."

"Who?" Mo Siyu paused his steps, having never heard Tang Yue mention this before.

Tang Yue hesitated and said, "Originally, I didn't want to mention it, but I think it's better not to hide it from you."

And moreover, even if she wanted to hide it, she couldn't. Rather than having Mo Siyu find out later and be in the dark, she said, "The world is really small."

Tang Yue gazed into the distance and said, "Lian Qingyang, that boy who always plays games with me, he is my half-brother from the same father."
