Rebirth: Super gene

Chapter 144: Post-war

Bang!

Tyrant landed beside Man Tian with a hefty grunt.

The white serpent coiled around his wrist came down, and spat out various items gathered by Man Tian, Han Yan and Bian.

The granules of vigor, the nectar of exuberance and the drops Bian gathered from the floating island.

These ingredients were so potent that when used together, it was rumored to be able to bring a person back from the brink of death.

Just as Bian wasn't truly dead in the hospital, his soul and spirit were very active.

The same applies to Man Tian.

As long as he wasn't completely dead, the concoction would heal him to full health.

They quickly mixed the materials together and made the concoction.

Half of the bottle was fed to Man Tian.

His damaged heart began to repair itself right in front of them, at a pace visible to the naked eye.

Bian and Han Yan shared the rest of the contents in the bottle.

After Bian transformed back, the cracks between his body filled up with blood.

"It's been a long time since I've seen my own blood," Bian commented.

Usually, he wouldn't get damaged due to his jade body.

Then even if he was injured, the blood would fill up the spaces at most.

Right now, he was bleeding all over.

The edges of Executioner Green's swords were imbued with the power of space.

Not only did the swords cut through armor like butter. but they filled up their injuries with space currents, stopping their healing.

"Even the silver fox wouldn't be able to help us with these injuries," Han Yan said.

Now that she had unfused, her previous injuries reappeared.

One of her eyeballs was missing, and there were plenty of injuries marring her body.

The couple downed what was left of the concoction and rested on the ground.

Everyone was in pain, resting from the intense battle.

...

A couple of hours later, Han Yan and Bian had somewhat recovered.

Removing the space currents from their systems was both tedious and harmful to their bodies.

It was a good thing they had taken the concoction beforehand. Enabling them to fiercely send out the space currents and recover afterwards.

They had recovered from the battle physically, but were mentally exhausted.

Man Tian, who had been damaged by ravaging chaotic space currents, was recovering at a much slower pace.

The concoction did wonders, healing his body. But without removing the chaotic space currents, the healing would just delay his death.

They carefully carried him atop the golden growler and headed towards a shelter.

This region of the sanctuaries was very unsuitable for life.

Perhaps, that was the reason why humans weren't sent here as often.

Riding the Golden Growler, they arrived at the shelter in under a minute.

"Do you think the teleporter is still intact?" Han Yan grimaced when she saw the destroyed shelter.

Every attack in their special states completely devastated the lands around them. This Squire class shelter was a casualty of their battle.

Luckily, the teleporter was well protected by the now destroyed spirit hall.

The spirit himself was dead. Death in the Empirical Aura meant permanent death after all.

Swoosh!

They teleported back to the alliance.

...

The alliance was shrouded in a peculiar atmosphere.

The shura empire suddenly declared a cease fire, after several months of acting aggressively.

Of course the humans agreed to the truce, with a large compromise from the shura.

It wasn't as if they were in an all out war, where everyone was drafted and blood was shed every day.

No, most wars don't tend to be that way.

Unless one side was overwhelmingly strong. Wars tended to be more of a battle of attrition.

Attacks on logistics, bombardment of supplies, grinding down the energy one step at a time.

Especially for civilizations as large as the alliance and the shura empire.

Sacrificing 80 to kill 100 just isn't worth it.

The civilians and military may even turn on their leaders, if an all-out war broke out.

After all, those below would be the ones to suffer the full brunt of such a dreadful situation.

So while the shura took bold steps and hindered the alliance, it wasn't to the point where it was a blood feud.

It was still conceivable and the alliance made sure to be overbearing in their demands.

Man Tian was admitted to a high-end hospital. Bian was ready to pay a high fee to secure his treatment, but it unexpectedly came free.

When he was in the Alliance Central Military Academy, Bian completely shattered his arm.

It was very costly for the Geno Hall to call upon a demigod to heal his arm.

Now, after Man Tian was admitted, Bian didn't even make a call before several high-profile individuals from all walks of life came over.

The most useful were the demigods. They removed the chaotic space currents allowing Man Tian to make a full recovery in a month.

...

"Han Yan," Bian called out gently.

The couple was on an exotic planet, appreciating a beautiful sunset.

The mood was right!

Bian went on one knee, bringing out a gold ring with a ruby red gem embedded in it.

"Will you marry me?"

Simple is best.

They have been together for a while now, and there was no doubt about it. They were in love.

"Yes, I will," Han Yan responded with joy.

Bian gave her a bear hug, lifting her up.

Now he just needed to get the blessings of her parents and schedule a date for the wedding.

He was quite content.

The red gem of the ring was forged from his heart crystal. It was impossible to shape it himself, but with the lasers of the black beetle ship, he crafted a ring for her.

...

After Man Tian fully recovered, the trio went back to the sanctuaries to pick up where they last left off.

They hunted some super creatures, allowing Bian to finally max out his super gene points.

[Geno points acquired: 100 Ordinary Geno Points; 100 Primitive Geno Points; 100 Mutant Geno Points; 100 Sacred Geno Points; 100 Super Geno Points.]

[Gene locks: Dongxuan sutra; 9 gene locks opened Inner Cylinders; 10 gene locks opened Self; 9 gene locks opened]

It seemed Bian wouldn't be spending much time as a surpasser.

Man Tian went to drop off the Time Ape, while Han Yan and Bian went towards the walking shelter.

Hope Spirit, Xie Qing King, the doll-type beast soul and many others had been sent around the sanctuaries to destroy several spirit shelters.

They liberated hundreds of humans in captivity, which was a great factor that pushed the Shura to concede benefits to humans in the treaty.

"Finally, I'll be able to keep my promise," Bian sighed in relief.

He spotted Yi Dongmu on the walking shelter.

Bian personally instructed him to secure Hope Spirit's parents and family.

One of the people working for Yi Dongmu had a special body which made spirits more open to him.

He already saw her and her family. Bian promised to send them to the alliance.

It would take some time as he needed to evolve past the demigod stage first. But, spirits were not new to long periods of time.

The two of them climbed up the shelter, and there were at least a dozen surpassers among the spirits present.

Yi Dongmu came forward and shook Bian with a firm hand.

"We managed to liberate most of the shelters in this area. Surprisingly, there are other decent surpassers out here."

Bian raised a brow.

For Yi Dongmu to praise someone, that person must really have great skill.

"Found you."

A gentle voice echoed.

Bian turned to the voice he heard.

Time slowed down to a crawl.

In the second sanctuary, he was ambushed by a silent predator, the cruel shrike.

Due to this incident, he searched far and wide for a way to sense danger ahead of time.

He discovered the intent mantra and after evolving, the mantra was absorbed by the spirit pillar.

This was the first time his spirit reacted, meaning his life was in danger.

He turned his head slowly to see a pale white man with white hair, dressed in a white robe.

In his hands was a medallion and inscribed on it was the glowing word anomaly.

That was the last thing Bian saw before the figure radiated extreme light, even brighter than a sun.

DEATH!

A sense of crisis filled his being.

He activated the body pillar and crystallised himself while moving to cover Han Yan.

As he embraced her, his body turned from flesh to Jade.

And then-

Everything turned white.

A supernova erupted!
