Reborn As A Evil Dragon

Chapter 206: CH : 200 Complete Control Over Dark Forest

Can you imagine humans and evil jackals walking out of the tavern arm-in-arm, bragging about their proud experiences?

Hey, hey, this is a bit outrageous.

After walking around the Monster City for an hour, Zephyr felt both mixed emotions and happiness.

What's complicated is that the city built by a group of monsters is actually better than the noble forest elves' cities. This is actually debatable. After all, not all forest elves enjoy this lively and noisy atmosphere.

But he was genuinely happy because, after Zephyr's on-the-spot investigation, he could confirm that it was absolutely impossible for the chaotic and evil black dragon to allow his dependents to develop such a city.

"It's time to meet the Black Dragon Lord," Zephyr decided.

He approached where the guards were stationed and revealed himself.

The guards were startled and subconsciously raised their weapons, but they quickly calmed down upon recognizing Zephyr's race.

"Are you a forest elf from the north?"

"Yes." Zephyr nodded, then explained his purpose.

Hearing this, the guard dared not neglect him and quickly contacted their superior.

Soon, after numerous inspections, Zephyr entered Castle Black. Under the leadership of a Dragonborn maid, he walked toward the Black Dragon Lord's current location.

The Dragon Pond, in its empty center, held a few scattered piles of wealth—this was the tax revenue recently collected from all ruling places such as Monster City, Dal Kingdom, and Underdark.

A black dragon with an oppressive aura and closed eyes was there, magic lights flashing around him. It was evident that he was studying spells.

"Master, a messenger has arrived from the Green Forest."

The black dragon slowly opened his eyes, and a trace of surprise flickered through his immense gaze. What happened? The forest elves sent an envoy to meet an evil black dragon?

Are you sure it's not a night elf?

"Let him in."

---

I was very curious about what could happen if the forest elves sent an envoy here.

Zephyr was brought in by the Dragonborn maid and finally saw the legendary being spoken of by countless monster warriors in Monster City—the Black Dragon King.

"Under the Black Dragon Crown, I am the messenger 'Zephyr' from the Green Forest."

After a few seconds of silence, Zephyr greeted him in a dry tone.

There was no way around it; the sheer size of the black dragon before him was too oppressive. Even though he had long known that the black dragon capable of ruling Black Wing Lair would certainly not be weak, seeing it in person was entirely different. No one could truly understand the overwhelming sense of intimidation unless they experienced it themselves.

---

"An alliance?"

The Black Dragon's tone held a note of surprise.

Did I hear that right?

This was a forest elf—untainted by evil, righteous, and kind at heart.

Many years ago, Black Wing Lair had actively sought trade with them for mutual benefit, but the forest elves sternly refused, as if even speaking to us for a few moments would corrupt them with evil.

Although I didn't appreciate that behavior, I understood it.

But what's happening now?

"Can you represent the Green Forest?" I asked seriously.

"Of course. I am here to represent the Green Forest. Every action I take and every word I say can fully represent the attitude of the Green Forest," Zephyr stated.

From trembling slightly before the black dragon earlier, to now exchanging several sentences, Zephyr's mood gradually stabilized.

He wasn't mistaken—the Black Dragon Lord before him was a mutant dragon. A mutant dragon is a term used to describe a dragon that deviates from the norm. It doesn't necessarily mean physical mutations; differences in character and behavior from their kin also qualify.

"Interesting." I grinned, nodding slightly after a brief moment of thought.

"Black Wing Lair agrees to form an alliance."

A smile appeared on Zephyr's face.

The ring on his hand shone slightly, and a light green scroll, seemingly made of leaves, materialized in his grasp.

"This is a contract book. The god who witnesses it is the Nature God of our forest elves. Your Majesty, you may confirm the contents."

With a thought, the contract scroll opened immediately.

Its interior lacked ornate patterns and instead displayed only the simple and straightforward terms of the agreement.

To summarize, there were primarily two points:

1. Neither party shall invade the other's territory, nor commit betrayal or infringe upon the other's interests.

2. If there is a foreign enemy, both parties shall stand together to resist. However, this assumes the attacking enemy has evil intentions. If one party provokes another good-aligned faction, the other is not obligated to assist. Similarly, if the Emerald Forest provokes good-aligned factions, Black Wing Lair is exempt from providing aid.

"The terms are acceptable, but I believe we can add one more clause," I said thoughtfully.

"Your Majesty, please elaborate," Zephyr replied, feeling slightly nervous.

Seeing the somewhat cautious Zephyr, I smiled. "Don't be so tense. This is merely a suggestion—regarding trade between both parties."

Hearing this, Zephyr breathed a sigh of relief. It was merely trade—a minor issue.

He nodded, agreeing to the Black Dragon Lord's proposal, and promptly added the clause to the contract scroll.

Both parties signed the agreement.

Faintly, both the Black Dragon and Zephyr seemed to perceive an emerald green oak tree standing at the center of the starry sky, resembling a World Tree. Its hair-like roots shimmered, and the Nature God emanated a faint emerald vitality, smiling softly at them.

The contract was successfully established.

The witness was the Nature God of the forest elves—Rillifan Lelefe.

This god is recorded in my Dragon Heritage—a benevolent elven deity of moderate power, holding authority over nature and oak.

Once the contract was completed, Zephyr excused himself and left. Before departing, he mentioned that an elven envoy would soon arrive in Monster City for inspection and settlement. At the same time, he extended an invitation for an envoy from Black Wing Lair to visit and inspect the Green Forest.

I entrusted Sophia with full authority over the arrangements.

With the young dragons growing up, Sophia's role as their mentor is no longer as demanding.

"Green Forest Alliance."

In the center of the Dragon Pond, the black dragon's eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

Before Zephyr, the forest elf envoy, came, I had been cautious of the forest elves north of the Dark Forest. Information gathered over time confirmed their ancient and lengthy history.

I wasn't sure whether a legendary elf powerhouse existed among them.

That was in the past—now, I was nearly certain there wasn't a legendary elf powerhouse in the Emerald Forest!

Otherwise, they wouldn't need to form an alliance with a black dragon—even a neutral one like me.

Logically, after confirming that the Emerald Forest lacked a legendary elf powerhouse, I could relax and disregard the so-called alliance. With my current strength, I could certainly afford to do so.

However, after consideration, I chose to accept the alliance.

Given the forest elves' history, spanning at least thousands of years, who knows what terrifying trump card they might possess? If the other side actively sought peace, there was no reason to refuse.

Besides, Black Wing Lair stood to lose nothing. On the contrary, it gained a wealthy and trustworthy trading partner with significant power who wouldn't betray us. Why not accept?

"With the Green Forest Alliance, only a few forces remain in the Dark Forest—the centaur tribes, hidden wild dwarves, remnants of monster clans left by Lyanna, and scattered monsters."

It was time to take full control of the Dark Forest.

I summoned my trusty kobold, Skye.

"Skye, lead one hundred thousand monster warriors and eliminate all forces and monsters in the Dark Forest, except for the northern Green Forest Territory. They must either surrender or leave the Dark Forest. Otherwise, kill them all or capture them as slaves," I commanded calmly.

Skye's eyes lit up as he said excitedly, "Master, I will definitely take down the entire Dark Forest as quickly as possible!"

By occupying all the resources and territory of the entire Dark Forest, the Black Wing Lair would develop rapidly once again.

The second and third monster cities could also be built.

With the vast area of more than 10 million square kilometers of the Dark Forest, combined with breeding and planting, it could fully support tens of millions of ordinary monsters and hundreds of thousands of "Big Stomach Kings" Dragon-born monster warriors.

As for the Emerald Forest?

The core city of the Emerald Forest only covered an area of several hundred square kilometers. Even when including the large forest territory outside the Emerald Forest, it barely reached tens of thousands of square kilometers, which was insignificant in comparison.

This was one of the reasons why I agreed so readily to the alliance. After all, occupying such a small area, the Black Wing Lair simply didn't find it appealing.

Just occupying a piece of land in the wasteland would result in an area several times larger than the sphere of influence of the Emerald Forest.

---

After the Black Dragon Lord issued the order, the entire Dark Forest began to boil.

There was fighting everywhere.

But almost every fight ended quickly due to the vast strength gap between the two sides.

The outcomes were simple: surrender, escape, or be captured and turned into slaves to be used for mining, construction, and hard labor.

"This is Centaur territory! How dare you monsters invade?!"

In the southern area of the Dark Forest, within a valley, Centaur Reis glared angrily at the densely packed monster warriors surrounding the valley's entrance, feeling a chill run through his heart.

Behind him stood thousands of centaurs, most of whom were old, weak, women, and children. The Centaur King Mohandersen had led a large number of centaur warriors to the northern part of the wasteland to attack the Kingdom of Albit. Naturally, it was impossible to take the old and weak, women, and children with them, so all of these vulnerable individuals were left behind in the Dark Forest territory.

A strong kobold clad in armor emerged from the monster warriors and said coldly, "Stop talking nonsense. Either die or get out of here."

Reis gritted his teeth, trembling all over, but after meeting countless pairs of bloodthirsty eyes outside the valley, his resentful emotions quickly subsided, as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over him.

"Fine, we will leave," Reis said, word by word.

A good horse doesn't suffer immediate losses.

The most important thing was to inform the king of what had happened here. Then, the king would undoubtedly return, reclaim this place, and teach these monsters a profound lesson!

Under the watchful eyes of thousands of monster warriors, the centaur warriors escorted nearly 20,000 old, weak, women, and children as they marched toward the northern part of the wasteland.

The monster army sent an elite group of jackals and warg knights to follow them all the way, ensuring they truly evacuated the Dark Forest before returning to the original route.

The reason why the monsters chose to simply expel the centaurs, rather than killing, enslaving, or subduing them, was that Skye, as the leader this time, had some considerations in mind.

For one, these centaurs were primarily old, weak, women, and children. Killing, enslaving, or subduing them would yield little profit while severely offending the main centaur forces now occupying the northern part of the wasteland and half of the southern Kingdom.

Although the Black Wing Lair wasn't afraid of the Centaur clan, there was no need to provoke them unnecessarily over intangible benefits.

But the master's order was to unify the Dark Forest, so after some thought, Skye decided to expel these centaurs.

This could also be seen as a favor to the Queen of Darkness, Lyanna. After all, Lyanna maintained good relations with the Centaur King. As the eldest of his master's family members, Skye knew some of the master's secrets—secrets that weren't really secrets to him and certain others.

After the centaurs withdrew, thousands of goblins, kobolds, and trolls who had stayed in the Rotten Swamp territory were next. Under the attack of the monster army, this group of monsters—possessing numbers but no quality—surrendered obediently without causing much trouble.

When Lyanna went to war in the wasteland, most of her family members had been taken away, leaving behind only the weakest among them. After years of development, these monsters left behind had naturally multiplied. Their population had grown from less than a thousand to several thousand now.

However, they were still weak.

Skye could dispatch a small squad of monster warriors to easily defeat these monsters.

"The next main task is to locate the hidden tribe of wild dwarves."

Skye summoned his five trusted subordinates, assigning each one the task of leading 500 elites to swiftly search every corner of the Dark Forest.

Despite more than a decade passing, Skye still vividly remembered the Brown Forest Dwarves.

"How dare they harm the great master." A cold glint flashed in Skye's eyes.

He still remembered, more than ten years ago, when his master had been weaker and injured during a battle against the Brown Forest clan by a high-level wild dwarf spellcaster and a high-level wild dwarf bone-blood warrior.

"They must all die."

A trace of malice gleamed in the eyes of the lean kobold, standing over three meters tall.

---

Time flew by.

The 100,000-strong monster army divided into thousands of squads, with the Black Wing Lair territory as the center, spreading out to eliminate all threats.

If they encountered high-order or top-order monsters, the Black Wing Lair would dispatch powerful individuals to conquer or kill them with overwhelming strength.

Within Black Wing Lair, apart from the Black Dragon King, the strongest resident was the Rock Dragon, who had reached the 18th Order. Currently, the Rock Dragon was following the gnoll leader Brain to wage war on the border of the Principality of Cass. The strongest individuals left in Black Wing Lair were the Cyclops at 18th Order, followed by Bray the gryphon at 16th Order, Bertha the crane at 15th Order, Turson 15th Order, and Cloudhawk, also at 15th Order.

The Cyclops and Cloudhawk were top-tier monsters who had invaded Black Wing Lair but were captured alive and later surrendered to the Black Dragon King. Among them, the Cyclops had once been the King of Monsters in the western part of the Dark Forest.

Turson, the half-black dragon, is possibly the strongest combat power in his order. He is able to take on even 17th middle order monsters due to possessing both level and order in the master realm, combined with his new form that grants him various abilities.

With the combined efforts of the four top-tier monster generals and a 100,000-strong legion, the Black Wing Lair successfully took control of a large portion of the Dark Forest.

During this time, several small and medium-sized monster clans surrendered to Black Wing Lair, causing its population to expand from 1.5 million to nearly 1.9 million.

Skye chose not to relocate these surrendered monster tribes. Instead, he left them where they were and gave his master's blood to their strongest members.

Centralization wasn't ideal for expansion. Instead, monster villages, towns, and cities were constructed throughout the Dark Forest to maximize resource utilization.

To achieve this, Skye dispatched 200,000 ordinary monsters from Black Wing Lair to cooperate with the scattered monster tribes in clearing land, cultivating fields, building villages, breeding livestock, and—most importantly—constructing roads.

The roads would connect the scattered monster tribes, allowing them to reach Black Wing Lair via smooth, well-built pathways.

To complete this daunting task, Skye decided, after careful consideration, to migrate one million monsters from Black Wing Lair, dispersing them throughout the Dark Forest into villages of several hundred each. These villages controlled key road nodes and were strategically placed.

This migration left fewer than 200,000 residents in Black Wing Lair itself. However, with 200,000 working on road construction, 100,000 clearing areas in the Dark Forest, and tens of thousands waging war in the Principality of Cass, Black Wing Lair retained a population of over half a million.

Among the 500,000-plus population, there were nearly 200,000 humans and more than 300,000 monsters, gathering the majority of Black Wing Lair's elite forces.
