Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!

Chapter 1347: Traumas

-----

The girl kept running towards the dark forest, afraid of everything, tired of everything.

After losing her mother and her father, what else did she even have left?

Her grandmother didn't even seem that happy to take care of her, the girl felt neglected, even more with the weird things she taught her, which only ended up making her get bullied.

Her entire image at the school was ruined completely, and after realizing she didn't really have friends, she felt like there wasn't any point in trying anymore.

She continued eating sweets while in the forest, stressed, sad, while crying. Eating delicious food, especially sweets, was almost the only thing that made her a bit happy.

The sweet, the sugar, made her body feel more relaxed, it helped her cope with her life, and how much it had worsened.

She wasn't even that old, and she was already at this point in her life… A little girl with barely any clue about everything, thinking about just getting herself lost, to never return anymore.

The deeper she went into the dark forest, the more the trees grew, darker, monstrous…

"H-Hello?"

She was scared, confused, lost.

"G-Grandma?"

She stepped over a branch, the sound making her squeal.

"Aah!"

As she fell into her own butt, she looked around her, the trees seemed to be slowly turning into monstrous creatures, with faces and scary hands.

"No…! No!"

She started crying, trying to stand up, but she tripped over again, falling on her own face.

"Ouch… Haah… Ugh…"

"Where do you think you're going, fatty?"

"H-Huh?!"

The girl gasped in disbelief, as she heard the trees speak human words.

"We never liked you!"

"You were just bringing candies, ugly fatty!"

"Pig!"

They laughed, their faces twisting into human-like faces.

The students that hated her, the bullies, her grandmother.

"See? You never had friends! You're so pathetic!"

"Nobody loves you!"

"You're alone! Aloneeeeee!"

The girl kept crying, trying to free herself from the roots wrapped around her leg.

"T-That's… N-No…! I am not alone… Sniff… daddy's…!"

"YOUR DAD'S DEAD!"

"HE DIED MISERABLY FIGHTING UGLY MONSTERS!"

"HE PROBABLY GOT MAULED TO DEATH, HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The branches kept twisting, the roots moving like legs, the trees were dancing a malefic dance, with an evil melody.

"You're ugly!"

"You're fat!"

"You're pig-faced!"

"Nobody loves you!"

"Your grandma's stupid!"

"You eat because you're always sad!"

"You're alone! Gyahahahah!"

"Your mommy died giving birth to you! You literally killed her!"

"Your dad got eaten by monsters, imagine his agonizing face when he was bitten to death bite after bite! Guahahahaha!"

"N-No…! No…!" the girl started trembling, grabbing her head while constantly crying. "Daddy's… Mommy…! A-Aahh… Uuuaaahh…"

As she kept crying, the trees laughed, they mocked her weakness.

"WEAK!"

"WHY DO YOU CRY?!"

"NOTHING GOOD WILL COME FROM THAT, YOU KNOW?!"

"YOUR PARENTS AREN'T COMING BACK!"

"Leave me aloneeee!" the girl kept crying. "Why does everyone hate me so much? E-even the trees! What can I do to be loved? What can I do so the feeling I feel in my chest disappears? I can't… I can't even breathe…! Sniff…"

"I GOT A PERFECT IDEA!"

"WHY DON'T YOU JOIN THEM?!"

"GO DIE IN A DITCH!"

"YOU'LL DIE LIKE THE PATHETIC THING YOU ARE!"

"AND JOIN YOUR PATHETIC PARENTS, ISN'T THAT NICE?!"

"A WHOLE DEAD FAMILY, WHAT A JOKE! HAHAHAHA!"

The girl closed her ears, she didn't want to listen to them anymore, she kept thinking about her father, calling for him, crying while resting over the grasslands.

Eventually, the darkness, everything, spiraled around her, encompassing her on a cocoon made of dark wood. Her tears dried out as she slept.

"Mom… Dad…"

She dreamed that she ran through an endless hallway, her parents walking forward, waving their hand at her from afar, smiling.

"Mom! Dad!"

She kept running and running, but they continued walking, the distance becoming longer, and longer, and longer…

"W-Wait for me!"

They continued moving, eventually becoming so far away, she could never catch up with me.

"Don't… D-Don't leave me!"

Before she realized it, she fell into an endless darkness, an abyss.

As she fell, she saw her parents looking down.

And then they walked away.

The further she fell, the more distant everything felt.

As she felt hopeless, she began to grow colder, her tears no longer falling from her eyes.

"Maybe… Maybe I should… I should just die…"

Her body started to slowly turn into black ashes, as she saw her little hands disappear, then her feet, and the rest of her limbs.

"I… shouldn't exist… I should just… die already…"

As she turned one with the void, the abyss, and slowly gave up her innocence and her dreams…

FLASH!

"Huh?"

Her little eye glanced into the distance, a bright flash of white light appeared out of nowhere, amidst the endless darkness.

"Alma! Please…! Alma, don't leave me!"

The light pulled her back, as the darkness dissipated, and the girl slowly opened her eyes.

There, she found…

"G-Grandma?"

Her grandmother, crying.

"I'm sorry!"

She hugged her granddaughter, crying on her shoulders.

"I'm so sorry for what I did… I'm such a bad grandmother…!"

"G-Grandma…"

"I love you dear… You're my treasure… I love you more than anything!"

Her grandmother hugged her tightly, kissing her little face and giving her warmth.

"Please never think that I don't love you…"

"Grandmaaa!"

The girl started crying, hugging her grandmother back, crying

She finally remembered that there was indeed someone.

She hated her because she was a bit clumsy, but in the end, her grandma never did anything with bad intentions.

"I-I really thought you would make friends like that… I'm such an idiot… Would you forgive me, Alma?"

Her grandma cried, as she glanced at her little granddaughter.

"I-It's fine…"

She hugged her grandma back, without letting go of her either.

There was someone that loved her, someone that cared for her.

She wasn't alone.

"I love you grandma… I'm sorry for being mean to you…"

"I-It's fine… oh dear… it's fine… my precious little princess… it is fine…"

As she smiled happily while in tears, and felt her grandma's kiss on her little forehead, she proceeded to gently pat her pink hair, smiling gently at her.
