Chapter 236 - 236: Abigail's Thinking Process
Chapter 236: Chapter 236: Abigail’s Thinking Process
Abigail Green looked at her senior who she hadn’t seen for many days. He had become much thinner, and she felt a pang of sadness.
They used to be the most in-tune pair of senior and junior, the best partners in the operating room, and each other’s most trusted comrades. Now, they were separated by a chasm of time.
He asked her, “Were you the one who closed the chest of the second young master?” She couldn’t answer for a moment.
“I…”
“Yes, it was her,” Brandon Piers answered for her when he saw Abigail hesitate. He added, “She’s a student from Swallow City Medical University, very capable.”
Jeffrey Foster nodded. He remembered her. Last time, Brandon had asked him to get her a spot in a medical competition. Even he hadn’t expected this plump girl to be so incredibly talented.
Especially the sutures, so exquisite that at first glance he thought they were done by his junior.
But on closer inspection, there were some differences.
If it were his junior, she would have been more meticulous, with denser stitches.
But for a medical student, Abigail Green was already very outstanding.
Closing a chest was such a massive workload, especially given Brandon’s physical condition at the time. A slight mistake could have been life-threatening. Even a team might not have done as well as this girl.
Hearing Brandon’s answer, Abigail came back to herself and nodded at Jeffrey. But Jeffrey had already looked away, his expression heavy as he looked at Elder Piers. “Old Master, I failed the second young master and let you down!”
Saying so, he bowed deeply to Elder Piers.
“How can you be blamed for this? You were also an unwitting victim,” Elder Piers patted Jeffrey’s shoulder. The incident happened so suddenly. No one expected that such a well-thought-out plan could be exploited by a few bastards. Yet it was lucky that his grandson met Abigail, that chubby girl.
Thinking of Abigail, the old man felt much comforted.
If it weren’t for this girl, his grandson might not have survived that day.
“It was indeed my negligence.” Jeffrey knew that regardless of the Piers’ attitude, his responsibility was significant.
Elder Piers pulled him up. “The important thing now is not to dwell on responsibility. Check how Brandon is doing.”
“Currently, his condition is stable, but we still need to observe more.” The first thing Jeffrey did upon his return was check Brandon’s condition. Strangely, after the chest was opened without immediate surgery, Brandon’s condition should have deteriorated, possibly endangering his life.
But from today’s situation, his condition not only hadn’t worsened but showed signs of self-healing.
Medically speaking, this could almost be called a miracle.
“That’s good, that’s good,” Elder Piers breathed a sigh of relief. A stable condition meant his grandson hadn’t lied to him. Otherwise, with the previous situation, stability would have been impossible.
While Elder Piers relaxed, Abigail was still on edge. She hadn’t expected Jeffrey to ask just one casual question and then stop, as if he didn’t know the specifics of the surgery. She couldn’t help but look at Brandon lying on the hospital bed.
Brandon leaned lazily against the bed. In hospital garb, he still managed to exude a seductive allure with his pale skin, looking exceptionally stunning.
Abigail pursed her lips. Was such a beautiful man planning to be on the receiving end?
Just as she was musing, Pullan approached with a water cup, moving gently. “Second Young Master, have some water.”
Standing at over six feet, with a crew cut and tan skin, Pullan wasn’t handsome, but his rugged features made him attractive. The gentleness of his movements and his focused expression formed a stark contrast with his appearance, as if Brandon was his precious treasure.
Abigail prided herself on being upright, unlike the hidden fujoshi among the hospital’s young nurses.
But at this moment, she couldn’t control her mind from imagining Brandon and Pullan together.
Especially when she pictured the deeply tanned Pullan pressing the cold, fair-skinned and beautiful Brandon beneath him…
