Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Does He Look Better Than Me?

Abigail Green tilted her head, feeling that Brandon Piers’s sudden introduction came out of nowhere.

But at least it saved her from an awkward situation.

Jeffrey Foster was also taken aback, looking at the two of them in surprise.

He had been confined abroad these past days. Even though he could attend academic conferences, he was under guard and not allowed to return. It was only after pulling some strings that he managed to free himself.

He rushed back home and had no idea that Brandon Piers had changed the bride at his engagement party.

Abigail met Jeffrey Foster’s surprised gaze, feeling awkward.

She truly never expected to stand by another man’s side one day and hear him introduce, “Abigail is my fiancée.”

Her heart churned with mixed emotions, but she maintained a dignified smile.

Even though her form held no dignity in Jeffrey Foster’s eyes.

“Congratulations.” It was indeed Jeffrey, well-traveled and knowledgeable. Though he couldn’t understand how this combination came to be, seeing the possessiveness in Brandon Piers’s eyes, he wisely offered his congratulations.

Brandon Piers naturally expressed his thanks.

Only Abigail stood awkwardly by his side, her hand being played with in his palm. She tried to pull it out several times, but Brandon kept it firmly in place. Annoyed, she glared at him, but he seemed oblivious.

Finally, Elder Piers sensed the strange atmosphere and stepped forward to inquire about Jeffrey Foster’s follow-up treatment plan.

When Brandon Piers’s condition was brought up, Jeffrey had no time to ponder how Abigail knew Abigail. Objectively, he analyzed Brandon Piers’s current situation.

He finally said with difficulty, “Although the surgery wasn’t performed, Second Young Master’s chest cavity has been opened. The trauma is extensive. The risk of a second surgery is extremely high, and the success rate is less than half of the original. So my recommendation is…”

Jeffrey Foster sighed, “My recommendation is conservative treatment.”

The other experts remained silent.

Recommending conservative treatment meant giving up on surgery, which was a death sentence.

Elder Piers knew his grandson’s concerns and cooperatively bowed his head in silence.

Abigail understood that Jeffrey Foster’s recommendation was the most conservative and safest. If it wasn’t for her having already performed the surgery on Brandon Piers, simply closing the chest would mean opening it again after such a short period. It wouldn’t be surgery; it would be a death sentence.

But now she didn’t know what Brandon Piers was considering. Why didn’t he tell Jeffrey Foster about his current condition? Regardless of his reasons, it was beneficial for her.

Revealing too much too early would do her more harm than good.

So she followed everyone else’s lead and lowered her head in agreement.

After a while, Brandon Piers finally raised his head, “I understand Dean Foster’s recommendation. As for what to do, I will consider it. That’s all for today.”

As he said the last sentence, he seemed extremely tired.

Jeffrey Foster glanced at Brandon Piers and then apologized to Elder Piers before leaving the ward heavily.

It was the first time Abigail had seen her senior in such a defeated state. She felt a bit hurt and wanted to remind him that Brandon Piers’s situation wasn’t as he thought. But her hand was held tightly by Brandon, and she met his warning gaze.

Reason triumphed over emotion in the end, and she watched Jeffrey Foster leave without moving.

After Jeffrey left with the group of experts, Brandon Piers’s face instantly darkened, “He looks good?”

Abigail was stunned, what was this?

“Better than me?” Seeing her puzzled look, Brandon’s mood worsened as he gritted his teeth and asked.

Abigail looked at his devastatingly handsome face, “Huh?”
