Reborn in Konoha; I Think I’m Cultivating Immortality

Chapter 275: Chapter 275

Hui's final words left the children of the Ninja Academy utterly exhilarated.

Because of Hui's influence, the position of Hokage had become the ultimate dream of almost every child and teenager in Konoha.

"I'll definitely become Hokage one day!"

A young boy shouted with determination, catching Minato off guard. This particular boy was known for his shy personality and had never dared to voice his dreams aloud.

Even though his raised voice was drowned in the chaotic noise, today marked the first time he declared his aspiration aloud and he said it boldly.

Minato's lips curved into a subtle smile. He didn't say a word, but deep down, he reaffirmed his own decision:

I will definitely become Hokage.

Hui's speech concluded, signaling the end of the opening ceremony.

Even though Hui had many tasks waiting for him, he didn't leave immediately. Instead, he wandered around the Ninja Academy with Hatake Sakumo, observing the activities.

They silently attended a class to evaluate the teaching standards of the academy's instructors.

"Shuhei is truly well-suited to be a teacher," Hui said with a smile after a lesson was concluded.

The class they observed was being taught by Takehara Shuhei (Hunter), a former comrade who had once been injured so severely that he lost the ability to continue as a combat ninja. Shuhei chose to become a teacher at the academy instead.

Over the years, Shuhei had grown into an outstanding instructor, nurturing countless talented students who went on to become formidable ninjas for Konoha.

"Indeed," Sakumo agreed, his tone tinged with nostalgia, "He treats every student as if they were his younger sibling or child."

Sakumo couldn't help but recall the past. Back then, he and Shuhei had joined Hui's team, serving under him and spending considerable time alongside Hui and Uzuki Ryozawa(Lightning).

It was during the mission that Shuhei got injured that Hui's words helped Sakumo finally resolve his internal struggle between loyalty to comrades and duty to the mission.

...

"The next class is a practical session. Let's stay and watch," Hui suggested with interest.

His enthusiasm stemmed not only from Shuhei's exceptional teaching skills and the outstanding students he cultivated, but also from another reason unknown to Sakumo: Namikaze Minato.

Hui's gaze lingered on the golden-haired boy with a warm, radiant smile, and his lips curved into a grin.

"You do realize you still have a ton of work to handle… Oh, never mind," Sakumo relented. As the head of the administrative department, his own workload was just as heavy.

Still, if Hui was interested, Sakumo decided to stay and observe. After all, as the administrative head, he was essentially Hui's right-hand man.

Both weren't in the least bit lazy… not at all.

The two remained hidden, silently watching the proceedings.

It was a practical class meant to evaluate the students' abilities.

"Today, let's start by reviewing our ninja tool throwing techniques," Shuhei announced, leading the class to the training grounds.

"Hahaha, watch this!"

One boy stepped up confidently, throwing five kunai in quick succession. Each hit the target, with one landing dead center.

"Wow, impressive!"

"That's awesome!"

"Yamaki is still the best!"

The other students cheered and praised him enthusiastically.

"Me next! Let me try!"

"Watch mine!"

Encouraged by the first volunteer and inspired by Hui's earlier speech, the students were unusually eager today.

Hui and Sakumo observed in silence, nodding occasionally as the students demonstrated their skills.

"This class has some promising kids," Sakumo remarked.

Hui nodded in agreement, his lips curling into a subtle smile as Uzumaki Kushina stepped forward.

Having once considered Kushina as a potential Jinchuriki for the Nine-Tails, Hui was familiar with her and quite fond of the spirited young girl.

Kushina threw her kunai, landing two in the bullseye, two in the second ring, and one in the third.

Her performance drew gasps of admiration from her classmates, as such accuracy was remarkable for a second-year student.

However, Kushina pursed her lips, clearly dissatisfied. Her eyes flickered toward a certain boy who was clapping for her, and she let out a huff.

The boy, caught off guard, smiled awkwardly in response.

"Minato, your turn," Shuhei said, his eyes gleaming with approval.

Minato was undoubtedly one of his star pupils.

"Alright," Minato responded warmly as the other students looked on with anticipation.

As the top student in the class, consistently ranking first, Minato was admired not just for his exceptional skills but also for his sunny disposition and kindness toward everyone.

Taking out five kunai, two in one hand, three in the other, Minato threw them simultaneously.

Thud, thud, thud, thud, thud!

All five kunai hit dead center!

"Wow!!!"

"As expected of Minato!"

"He's incredible. Look at that, every single one hit the bullseye!"

"So strong!"

"He's definitely taking first place again!"

The students' admiration was uncontainable.

Minato had already won the respect of his peers through his skills, and even Sakumo raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Exceptional kunai-throwing technique. It reminds me of your old style," Sakumo said, glancing at Hui with a sly smile, "Why don't you step out and give them a demonstration? It's been ages since I've seen you throw kunai."

Hui hesitated for a moment. Indeed, with his ever-growing strength, it had been a long time since he last used kunai. Once, it had been one of his signature techniques.

"Forget it—" Hui began, but Sakumo grabbed his arm and pulled him forward.

"Shuhei, if you're teaching kunai throwing, I think it's only right to let Hui give the students a real show," Sakumo said, drawing everyone's attention.

When the students saw that it was none other than the Third Hokage, Hui, they erupted into excited screams.

"It's the Third Hokage!"

"Hokage-sama!"

"Hui-nii-san?!"

"Wow, has the Third been watching us this whole time?!"

The children were brimming with excitement.

"Sakumo, Hui… Third Hokage-sama, why are you here?" Shuhei asked with a delighted expression.

"We've been here all morning, watching you teach," Hui replied with a smile. Since they were already exposed, there was no need to hide anymore.

"Is that so? What did you think? My teaching is pretty solid, right?" Shuhei asked confidently.

"Very," Hui affirmed. Shuhei's teaching was indeed top-notch.

"Since you're already here, you might as well do what Sakumo suggested. Give the kids a demonstration!" Shuhei said, his eyes gleaming with nostalgia as he recalled the past. Hui nodded, then turned to the students.

"Kunai throwing is one of the fundamental skills every ninja must master.

"Though often overshadowed by ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu, it's a skill that shouldn't be underestimated or ignored.

"Today, I'll show you that kunai throwing can be just as powerful as any jutsu."

Hui gestured to Sakumo and Shuhei, who quickly rearranged the targets, placing them in multiple locations, including several in Hui's blind spots.
