“Xue’er, haven’t I told you? Leave everything to me, you don’t need to worry. I’ll handle things and tell you once it’s done. Shouldn’t we go rest now?” Chu Molin asked his wife.

“Alright, you do have class tomorrow. I really am too much, dragging you into long conversations.” Qin Xue took a gulp of the wine she held in her hand and chuckled in response.

“Well, let’s head out then.” Chu Molin suggested. He was wary of falling asleep here, as he would have to wake his wife up and take her out the next morning. On the other hand, if they slept in their own room, even if she didn’t wake up, he wouldn’t have to disturb her slumber.

“Oh, okay.” Qin Xue figured it’d be better to step outside. Otherwise, she might have trouble dealing with the kids once they woke up. Just as she was about to turn around, she stumbled and nearly fell over.

“Be careful.” Chu Molin quickly reached out to support her, noticing her near fall.

“My head’s spinning.” Qin Xue, leaning on Chu Molin, looked at him with a somewhat wronged expression.

“Err, who asked you to drink so much? Here, let me help you out.” Chu Molin looked at her flushed face and spoke helplessly.

“I am happy. My mind’s clear of troubles now, so I am happy.” Qin Xue’s mind was indeed clear, but her body was not cooperating. She responded to Chu Molin’s words.

“Even if you’re excited, you shouldn’t drink like this. How can you not be drunk after all that?” Chu Molin thought to himself how she drank two large bamboo cups of century-old wine. Half a cup of this stuff would be enough to floor most people. He really couldn’t imagine anyone else squandering such a valuable liquor like this.

“Hmm, I want to sleep. I feel dizzy. Why is everything spinning? Chu Molin, there’s an earthquake. Run!” Qin Xue cried out. Only after a moment’s effort did Chu Molin manage to lay her down on the bed. He was just in time to see her spring up with a start, ready to run out.

“It’s okay, go to sleep.” Chu Molin held her down on the bed with one swift motion.

“There’s an earthquake, we have to run or we’ll get trapped!” Qin Xue looked at Chu Molin plaintively, appearing as adorable as ever.

“No need, I’m here. Just sleep peacefully.” Chu Molin took off her shoes, tucked her in bed, and covered her with a quilt.

“Hmm, then stay with me.” Mumbling out these words, Qin Xue rolled over and fell asleep almost immediately.

Chu Molin chuckled to himself. So this is what she’s like when she’s drunk. Thankfully, she didn’t make a fuss when intoxicated and simply went to sleep peacefully.

He took off his own shoes, lay down and pulled her into his arms tightly before closing his eyes to sleep.

The next day, before dawn, Chu Molin hurried back to school. He left a note for Qin Xue, informing her that he had headed back to school and reminding her again not to worry about their certification issues, he would find a solution. He didn’t want her forgetting anything due to her drunken state.

Thus, when Qin Xue woke up to find the note on the table and remembered the previous day’s events, she was truly speechless. What on earth had she done?

Qin Xue shook her slightly groggy head, changed her clothes, and stepped outside. She saw Xue Ling and the kids in the yard. Xue Ling was tinkering with something as the kids lay on their baby beds, their big eyes watching Xue Ling work.

“Ma’am, you’re up.” Xue Ling looked up at the sound of the door opening, just in time to see Qin Xue step out, her hand on her head.

“Hmm, why are you still fiddling with that?” Qin Xue walked over, sat down beside the kids and asked her.

“This thing is useful. How much did you drink?” Xue Ling sniffed the lingering scent of alcohol on Qin Xue’s clothes and asked her.

“I think I had two full bamboo cups from the bamboo house.” Qin Xue tried to recall. Her head was still a little dazed and couldn’t really remember if she had drunk any more than that.
