Chapter 54: Chapter 54: A Punch for Tsunade
Besides being skilled in medical ninjutsu, Tsunade was also a woman of monstrous strength.
Once, in a fit of extreme anger, she had seriously injured Jiraiya with a single punch, nearly causing his premature demise. Recalling it now, Jiraiya couldn't help but rub his ribs, which still faintly ached, and smile bitterly.
'Even I can't handle a punch filled with that much 'love'. That kid doesn't stand a chance.'
He began to worry for the handsome young Kaito. 'You'd better pray for your own sake.'
By the time he came back to his senses, Tsunade had already clenched her fist, leaped into the air, and was bringing her fist down on Kaito with a roar.
"..." Kaito stared intently at the descending Tsunade, neither dodging nor evading.
With a deafening explosion, both Jiraiya and Orochimaru's eyes went wide.
Amid the rising dust, it was Tsunade who was sent flying like a cannonball, crashing through several trees.
"What happened?" Jiraiya asked, shocked.
"He calculated Tsunade's landing position and attacked first with his leg, which has a longer reach. He kicked her away before her fist could connect," Orochimaru said, his eyes narrowed.
"He could calculate that accurately at such a high speed? How come I can't do that?"
"Because you're an idiot."
"..."
"Big Sis, your fists may be powerful, but they're useless if they can't hit their target," Kaito said, loosening his limbs and raising his fists in front of his chest, striking his favorite fighting pose. "And I hate to break it to you, but I happen to be a taijutsu prodigy."
"A taijutsu prodigy, are you?" Tsunade stood up and walked out of the woods, her ponytails dancing behind her, her gaze growing sharper. "Little Brother, I'm sorry to say, but my favorite thing to do is beat up so-called prodigies like you!"
With that, she charged toward Kaito. As she drew near, she stomped her foot, cracking the earth beneath it and suddenly accelerating, appearing before Kaito in the blink of an eye.
'She concentrated chakra at the soles of her feet to burst forward? And she controlled the force so precisely that she didn't shatter the ground. Impressive, but not enough.' Watching Tsunade's right fist swing back, Kaito's body reacted on its own. He raised his left arm to block her forearm while his right fist shot swiftly toward her stomach.
However, at that moment, he met an irresistible force from his left arm.
"Don't underestimate me!" Tsunade roared, and with a powerful swing, her fist broke through Kaito's block. Just as it was about to slam into him, Kaito let the force carry him, dropping to the ground and rolling several times before coming to a stop a short distance away, looking rather disheveled.
'That was close. If that had hit, I might have actually died. Good thing I felt something was off and used Detect.' Kaito breathed a sigh of relief. 'She concentrated chakra throughout her entire arm? Did she predict that I would try to block her? I really can't underestimate these famous ninja.'
Their reputations were well-earned.
"What's wrong, little prodigy?" Tsunade stood with her hands on her hips, looking smug. "Weren't you being all high and mighty just a moment ago?"
"Haha, I underestimated you, Big Sis. Now, I'm going to get serious." Kaito chuckled and casually took off his waistcoat, mobilizing the energy within his body.
'I wanted to conserve some energy, but it looks like that's not an option now. Bulk Up!'
His well-proportioned body swelled as if inflated, and the muscles in his arms, thighs, and abdomen bulged. In an instant, Kaito transformed from a pretty boy into a muscular man.
"What kind of secret technique is that?" Jiraiya's interest was piqued. He stroked his chin and imagined, "If I looked like that, I'd be super popular, wouldn't I?"
Orochimaru shook his head. "No. Your lack of popularity has nothing to do with your physique."
"?"
"That doesn't look cute at all," Tsunade said with a look of distaste, her eyes narrowed. "Those muscles are so ugly."
"Hahaha, good thing I'm naturally cute," Jiraiya said, scratching his head sheepishly.
Orochimaru shot him a look that seemed to say, 'Are you serious?'
"Ah, my pants are a little tight. That's the only downside," Kaito said, tugging at his trousers uncomfortably.
"Hey, are you done yet?" Tsunade urged.
"Wait, let me dance for you first."
As the three of them watched, confused, Kaito held an invisible sword in his hand and began to move gracefully, performing a self-choreographed dance.
Swords Dance!
After stacking his buffs, he was finally ready. He beckoned to Tsunade with his finger.
"Alright, come on!"
Tsunade, who had grown impatient, immediately rushed forward. Kaito started at the same time, and the two met in the middle, throwing their fists out in unison.
"No way, he's going to clash with Tsunade head-on?" Jiraiya couldn't help but stand up straight. "Does he have a death wish?"
As he and Orochimaru watched, the large and small fists finally collided with no space between them. After a brief moment of stillness, a terrifying hurricane erupted from the point of impact, causing the trees in the forest to rustle violently. Even the spectating Jiraiya and Orochimaru had to raise their arms to shield their faces.
When they lowered their arms and saw Kaito standing his ground without moving an inch, Jiraiya was dumbfounded. "He… he actually blocked it?!"
"Very good. You're the first person who's dared to face me head-on," Tsunade said, an excited smile spreading across her face. "From now on, I won't hold back. Try not to die, okay?"
'That wasn't her full strength?' Kaito gritted his teeth. He and Tsunade simultaneously pulled back their fists, which began to glow, and struck out again.
Superpower! Power-Up Punch!
THUD!
Neither of them retreated an inch.
"Another draw!" Even Orochimaru was surprised.
Only Kaito knew that if this continued, he would be the first to give out.
Therefore, as Tsunade's fist came roaring toward him once again, a golden light flashed in Kaito's eyes.
Detect!
Having perceived Tsunade's movement, he ducked low, and a sweeping leg kick knocked her off balance. He then flipped over and pressed her down, grabbing both of her hands in the process.
Caught off guard, Tsunade landed chest-first, nearly getting a mouthful of dirt.
"Hey! You're not playing fair! Weren't we supposed to be trading punches?" Tsunade fumed. Unfortunately, with both her hands restrained, it was difficult to escape.
"I never said that," Kaito denied, shaking his head. He leaned close to her ear and chuckled softly. "Big Sis, you're a grown woman. How can you still be so naive?"
"You despicable brat! You're not cute at all! Let me go!"
"Not unless you admit defeat!"
"I'll never admit defeat!"
"In this position, aren't you afraid your teammates will laugh at you?"
Speaking of her teammates, Tsunade suddenly remembered the two guys who were watching the show. She immediately yelled, "What are you two standing there for? Aren't you going to help me?!"
"Oh, oh." Jiraiya, who had been busy burning Tsunade's current pose into his memory, quickly replied to her call. "Tsunade, you have to surrender first before I can help you. Otherwise, it would be against the rules."
"???"
Orochimaru was more direct. He threw a kunai, forcing Kaito to back off.
"Next, I'll be your opponent."
