Reincarnate in Honkai as Arthur Pendragon

Chapter 3: System

And why were you lying there in the snow?" Kiana asked, narrowing her eyes with a curious expression.

I scratched the back of my neck, uncomfortable.

"I'd like to know that too," I whispered, without looking at Kiana.

"Did you say something?"

"It's a secret," I replied with a small smile.

Kiana raised an eyebrow, as if she didn't know whether to take it seriously or not.

"Fine, if you don't want to say, I won't force you," Kiana snorted in annoyance.

Now that I think about it... What happened to the people who were following me? Were they even people in the first place? Should I tell Kiana?

Wait... what is Kiana doing in a place like this?

"Kiana, where are your parents?"

She stood still.

The silence that followed was colder than the wind outside.

Kiana... did she look sad? Did she not have parents, or...

"I'm sorry if I asked something I shouldn't have," I decided to apologize before the situation got worse.

"It doesn't matter," Kiana shook her head.

"I'm looking for my stinky father. He disappeared a few days ago. By the way, have you seen him?"

"He's a big guy with long white hair, and he stinks of alcohol. His name is Siegfried," she added, as if she were talking about the most annoying guy in the world, but with a spark of affection. "He also carries two guns."

I stared at her silently for a second.

What kind of description was that?

He stinks of alcohol, carries guns, and disappeared, leaving his daughter alone in a frozen wasteland?

Where is Child Services when you need them?

Does that even exist in this world? Is there a button to report negligent parents?

"He sounds... charming," I said finally.

"But I didn't see him," I replied.

Kiana frowned, though she seemed a little disappointed.

"But don't worry, I'm sure he's not far away," I said, trying to comfort Kiana.

"That's right!" "The Kaslana family never gives up," Kiana perked up instantly, raised her fist, and shouted.

Well, she's very optimistic.

"I've made up my mind! I'm going out right now to look for him!" Kiana exclaimed, standing up with her fist raised and a determined expression.

I blinked.

"What?"

"My father could be out there, freezing, suffering, or worse... drinking!"

"Wouldn't it be better to find him tomorrow? Or at least when the weather improves?"

"There's no time for plans when the Kaslana spirit burns!" she declared, moving toward the exit.

Kiana strode purposefully to the entrance, as if the cold were only a minor obstacle in her glorious mission to "find her stinky father."

As soon as she approached, the icy wind greeted her mercilessly, hitting her directly in the face. The gust whipped up a whirlwind of snow that blew into her face.

She stood there for a couple of seconds... in complete silence.

Then, slowly, she turned around and returned, shivering like a leaf.

She returned to the fire in silence, her arms pressed against her body, her teeth clenched. She sat down without saying a word.

I looked at her, raising an eyebrow.

She avoided my gaze.

"Puff." I couldn't help but laugh at the situation. "Maybe the spirit Kaslana wants to think of a plan," I said, arching an eyebrow as I settled down by the fire.

Kiana gave me an offended look.

"Says the guy who almost froze to death."

I shrugged, still smiling.

"Details."

"Details that I had to carry, by the way."

"Wasn't it a revealing experience? Carrying a guy like me."

"I think I should have left you there."

I gave her an offended look, albeit an exaggeratedly dramatic one.

"How cruel! Is that how you repay someone who offers you their noble presence and charisma?"

Kiana narrowed her eyes and raised an eyebrow.

"Noble presence? I found you lying in the snow."

"Technically, I was unconscious."

Kiana gave up arguing with me and started watching the fire. I watched her out of the corner of my eye, saying nothing.

Now that I think about it, since I came here, I've never seen my appearance apart from these... golden strands?

!

"Hey, Kiana, what color are my eyes?" I asked quickly, turning to her with ill-concealed urgency.

Kiana blinked, surprised by the sudden tone. She stared at me, tilting her head as if assessing my mental state.

"Green... Why?"

I swallowed hard.

That means I have Arturia's body... Am I a girl?

I quickly wanted to check my body and felt it... I still had my little friend.

I sighed.

"Phew... what a relief." It would be weird if I were a woman.

 "What?" Kiana asked, frowning.

"Nothing, nothing... just... confirming important information for my peace of mind."

Kiana looked at me suspiciously.

"You've been acting weird since you woke up. Did your head freeze?"

"Probably." With everything I'm going through, I can't think straight.

Kiana looked at me briefly and looked back at the campfire.

So I'm Arthur Prototype shota... great. Maybe I should find a millionaire woman to support me for the rest of my life... with this face and this body, it shouldn't be that hard... preferably someone who doesn't have obsessive and possessive tendencies.

I sigh.

First, let's make a plan... what will I do after this...

Kiana was already asleep, snoring softly.

Is it normal to travel at this age? Kiana seems calm and confident, unlike how a child from my world would feel in this situation.

Or could it be that she transmigrated in Pokémon? Maybe that's why she had that attitude.

I thought of that certain eternal protagonist with the red cap.

Ten years.

A lifetime.

Hmm... I think I'll pass.

Thinking about all this has made me sleepy... I should get some sleep and see what decision I make tomorrow.

My eyelids were slowly getting heavy, and just when I thought I was going to fall asleep, I heard it.

DING!

My body tensed instantly.

That sound... it was impossible not to recognize it.

It was the typical bright notification sound of any game or web novel.

Congratulations! You met Kiana Kaslana! The protagonist of this world! You also survived the Honkai infected! Here is your reward for your success!
