Reincarnated as incubus: I didn't mean to seduce you!

Chapter 140 Lily Throws Herself into His Arms, Kael is Untouchable (10.6k, 6/60)_4

On this matter, Kael did not have the idea of rejecting either, satisfying his teacher's little desire to win from time to time was also considered the hidden understanding between teacher and student.

However, he did not have much desire to stand out today; in recent months, he had found himself at the center of a storm.

There were forces that had come over, ready to attach themselves to him, forces desiring to deepen their cooperation with him, and likewise, hostile forces planning to slow down his pace of development.

One could say that of late, if it were not for the help of Old White and Baron Newman who came over from time to time, and even with some help from Elanna and Senior Sister Lily—

he estimated that just the little remaining time he had outside of growing stronger would not be sufficient to handle all the related work properly.

Lily, who had taken a seat next to Kael, looked up at him with a weary expression on his face and said with some sympathy,

"Mr. Luxius really is too much, knowing well how busy you have been recently, yet still wanting you to attend this rather pointless mage meeting."

If Mr. Luxius were to hear this, he would definitely cry foul, as Lily herself was also very much looking forward to attending this mage exchange. Yet, seeing Kael's fatigue, she felt the meeting had lost its importance.

Suddenly, Kael lifted his head and looked forward, the mage from the Zelda Islands was watching him and Lily with an indescribable expression.

At this point, most of the first-row seats were filled, and the chubby mage seemed to be looking for a suitable seat at the front.

Then, glancing around, he saw, sitting in the front row were mostly the senior traditional mages from the Secret Scroll Mage Academy or simply their team leaders.

The inexplicable arrogance of an Extraordinary Mage made him not want to sit in the back where the students were, so he kept on scrutinizing to see if any students had mistakenly taken the wrong seats.

Driving those students away and taking over their seats naturally seemed like a good option to him.

After scanning around, he only noticed Kael and Lily.

Among a group of formidable mages, he decisively chose them, the two seemingly manageable ones for giving up their seats.

Hmph, isn't it natural for the strong to ask the weak to yield? The mages from the Zelda Islands mostly abide by such rules.

So even though the ones who were originally supposed to come for the exchange were younger talents with comparatively lesser strength, he still utilized his Extraordinary power to make them "voluntarily" step aside.

Thinking this, he was pleased and walked up to them, looking at the two.

"You two…" Before he could finish speaking, he saw the sea-blue eyes of Kael slightly lift.

That nearly materialized spiritual power was flowing in his eyes, to the extent that just a mere glance was enough for the chubby mage to understand why they were sitting there.

Bad news, another formidable one!

His expression changed instantly, his face broke into a servile smile, and he naturally took out a stool from his space backpack and sat down in the narrow aisle to Kael's right.

Perhaps because of his bizarre action, he unwittingly caught everyone's attention; he sat down pretending to be unconcerned while he sweated coldly on his back and initiated a conversation with Kael.

"Both of you must be the talented students from the Secret Scroll Mage Academy, right? I felt as if I had seen familiar compatriots in a foreign land the moment I saw you both. It really is quite a fate to meet you here."

He was quick to react.

After all, he was a mage. Although he did not care much about socializing, he was not foolish; seeing Kael's spiritual power, which even seemed a bit atypical for an Extraordinary Rank, he chose to compromise immediately.
Your next journey awaits at empire

Kneeling isn't degrading, as long as one isn't killed by anyone; the chubby mage might be a bit arrogant, but he was also clever.

Seeing that he had no intention to cause trouble, Kael withdrew the wariness in his eyes and looked at him, saying,

"Kael.D.Helois, a mere Border Lord and a faculty member of the Secret Scroll Mage Academy."

The chubby mage clapped his hands and said, "You must be the brave border warrior, no wonder I felt glad the moment I saw you. After all, we in the Zelda Islands love young talents who are willing to serve their country.

I suppose both of you are top geniuses in the Duchy of Ingkilans too!"

Kael did not pay much attention to the path the effusive mage had swiftly taken but focused his gaze forward instead.

By this time, Mr. Luxius had started to clear his desk, clearly ready to begin his lecture on spell-related knowledge.

...

After a lengthy exchange of spell theories…

Mr. Luxius tapped the desk, calming the somewhat excited crowd before continuing,

"Overall, this is a series of experiments we have conducted in exploring paths relevant for new mages.

However, it's important to note that in facing confined-area mage battles, war mages still have a long way to go before they can adapt effectively to such constricted combat zones."

Kael looked at Mr. Luxius on the stage, gently introducing the latest situation of war mages to the many mages present, his face showing a surprised expression.

He had thought that Mr. Luxius would focus on introducing the many new spell frameworks he had developed recently and the ingenious uses of a certain type of special spell in extreme scenarios.
