Chapter 1476: Another Day Ends, How Many Until We Come Back Together?
-----
Before we could leave completely, August, the Adventurer Guild Master came running behind us to tell us about something very important he almost forgot.
It was regarding the hypothetical monster stronger than the Goo Queen that was the one that drove her away from her usual hunting grounds.
Once she was drove away from her home she wandered back into the Goo Farm Dungeon, where it began taking the offerings of Pink Goos.
This, as a result, increased the Pink Goos aggressive hunting, killing more adventurers than it should and making the place more dangerous too! Stay updated through
"You mean, that there’s a bigger monster lurking somewhere?" Celeste asked.
"Maybe, that’s why I would like you to tell your father so he could investigate… A monster stronger than the Goo Queen already goes beyond even my strength," he sighed. "Only a Hero could take care of them…"
"Hm, okay," I nodded. "Very well."
"The death of those kids… it might’ve caused because that monster appeared and created this whole chain of events, and it might happen again as it keeps displacing apex predators away from their hunting grounds into previously more safer areas," August said. "This is something that might escalate into a disaster… so please tell your dad."
"Sure," I nodded. "Will do! I got a bit worried now, so don’t worry about it August.""Ah, thanks the world," he nodded. "You’re such a good and responsible princess, Lady Sylph."
"Leave it to us!" I said. "Although… Do you know what the usual hunting grounds of the Goo Queen were?"
"She was often seen hunting big monsters in the nearby mountains, especially the hardest dungeon in these lands, the Red Dragon Tomb," said August. "Something unexpectedly powerful, even more than before could have appeared."
"That Dungeon…" I muttered.
That’s the dungeon I wanted to visit to get Ignatius materials! I guess we’ll have to check it out and visit it later.
Though telling dad about this is the current priority.
"Furoh, can you bring us back?"
"Sure!"
FLUOSH!
Sure transformed once more, quickly taking the shape of a phoenix this time, he was mildly imitating the appearance and surface power of flames and heat of my father’s phoenix familiar.
"Oh wow that’s amazing, had no idea you could turn into a phoenix, dude!" said Celeste. "Hahah, like this we won’t ever need Sylphy’s dad phoenix help."
"It’s nice yeah, we won’t be able to bother them again," I said, relieved.
"It’s nice and warm and it doesn’t burn!" Celica said, patting Furoh’s feathered back. "Let’s go!"
The phoenix flames were unique in that the phoenix can control their composition and effects however they want, such as making flames that won’t burn and instead just warm you up.
FLASH!
With his help we flew back home with ease arriving in front of the door and opening it to find dad and Felicia already eating!
"Oh there you are! I told you to come back early! What were you doing? You’re almost an hour late…" my father reprimanded me.
"I’m sorry… we went on a little adventure in the dungeons and a lot ended happening," I said.
"A lot?" asked Felicia. "What happened? What with the long faces?"
"A lot happened…" sighed Celeste. "Ugh…"
She sat down in front of the table and so Ruby, Celica, and I did, we were really hungry, so dad served us a lot of food.
Today he made lots of roasted meat with big potatoes, a simple yet filling meal.
That, coupled with the good fruit juice and the company, made for a delicious lunch.
"So that’s what happened, I understand…" nodded dad.
We finally finished telling him what we went through, finishing with telling him what August told us about that.
"So there’s a big fish sending the slightly smaller fish away, huh? Tale as old as time…" he sighed. "And is in that mountain’s dungeon from all places. Hm, I’ll probably… begin exploring a different area first close to it."
For some reason he didn’t want to visit that dungeon despite being so strong, it was a bit weird.
"Okay sure but why not visit the dungeon directly?" asked Celeste. "You’re the literal warrior of the hero party, right uncle? I think you can do it just fine."
"I don’t know… Ah, I would rather not address this for the moment," said dad, feeling strangely dodgy for some reason.
"Uh, okay…" Celeste muttered, surprised.
"Sorry, it’s a thing of mine, you don’t have to worry anyways," he sighed. "Now that things are like this should we-"
"Why don’t you just tell them, Allan? Its’ not safe or healthy to keep this secret forever, your daughter will eventually find out on her own too!" she said.
"What secret?" I wondered.
A secret? Just what’s going on in here? what was she addressing out of nowhere?
I need context!
"Ah, maybe later…" sighed Allan. "I don’t feel in the mood right now- Anyways! It was a nice lunch right? Sylphy, today’s your turn to wash the dishes."
"Eeeeeh? My turn?!" I felt completely shocked. "Ah, oh well, everyone has their turn…"
I still felt really confused about what dad meant with all of that.
Did he know about this dungeon already?
And what relationship did he had with it?
He looked so sad; I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this sad before!
It was a bit surprising.
Maybe if I ask Felicia about it, she’ll disclose what dad hasn’t said.
Though I feel bad to ask her though, it would be like I’m ignoring that dad doesn’t want us to know for a little while.
Maybe it’s something that would also impact me? Or us?
Ugh, overthinking it isn’t doing any wonders either!
As I washed the dishes very angrily, I sighed.
"Oh well… He’ll tell us eventually. We’ll have to go there sooner or later."
I wasn’t planning on going there anytime soon.
But at least… by the end of the year, or maybe early next year.
Depending how long this entire tutoring takes.
Seeing how we get one big test every month, I guess it might take a bit longer.
"I wonder how you’re doing, Aquarina…"
As I glanced the snowy mountains through the window, I thought about her out of nowhere.
I miss my girlfriend…

Author’s Note: Tomorrow a new Volume will begin with a perspective from Aquarina herself. We’ll learn more about where she is, the friends she has made there, the people surrounding her, and the many trials she’ll go through, alongside a mysterious war between Great Spirits. It’s going to be a bit long, and Sylphy may not appear in many chapters, so I apologize for those that only read for Sylphy’s POV. I am trying to expand this novel’s world even more, and limiting myself only to her is not going to work on my favor.
I also want to develop Aquarina a bit more, as I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t really like her... She’ll go through quite a lot of character development, so I really, really really hope you can stick around and not just abandon the story altogehter, or even less skip this, because everything that you will see will be very important for the entire storyline in the future.
It won’t be Aquarina alone though, she’ll make a bunch of amazing friends with their own stories and their developments, abilities, and their outlooks at life, and Aquarina will grow to be more of a leader as well, while realizing many of her flaws and trying to improve herself while becoming kinder.
I hope you have enjoyed the story so far, because this world will only continue to grow even further, and its characters will continue to become even more charismatic and as alive as I possibly can write them.
See you tomorrow for 2 Chapters!
