Chapter 427: Dystopian Elven War [3] [General]
[Unknown Island, Kandam Continent.]
On the shore of the deserted island, a young man walked on the corner.
His long red hair fell behind his back while his golden eyes blinked, removing the remaining water off his eyes.
Elijah walked out of the ocean water as he held two fishes in his hand.
"This should be enough for today." He mumbled, raising it high to look at them.
It's been six months since he had started living with his mother.
During the last six months, all Elijah had done was train, rest and catch up with his mother.
'Though, I would love to see Heather now.'
He thought with a gentle smile as he walked towards the house.
These days, Elijah had gotten to know a lot about his mother and about his other family members.
'But, I don't like a single one of them.'
He was really pissed by how they treated his mother.
Elijah arrived at his house, that looked like a cottage as he opened the door.
"I am home, mother."
There was a sound of books being rearranged before a woman rushed towards him.
"Welcome back."
Poney, his mother, said with a bright smile as she floated in the air.
Even though she didn't have one leg and hand, she was still amazingly beautiful.
"Put it on the table." She said, floating away. "I will make you fish soup today."
"Thank you." Elijah said, walking towards it.
It's been so long since he had found family love and he liked it very much.
His mother gave all the love that Aljanah family never did.
Elijah placed the fish gently on the wooden table, wiping his hands on a towel nearby.
He watched as Poney floated over to the kitchen corner, humming softly to herself as she gathered the ingredients.
"Did you dry yourself properly?" she asked, not turning around.
Elijah blinked, then looked down at his damp clothes. "…Wait a minute."
He closed his eyes and the mark on his hand glowed.
Elijah changed the property of water over his body to air.
The moisture vanished, leaving him completely dry.
"You don't use Avatar's power like that."
She said, chuckling at his ways of doing things.
Elijah didn't say as his gaze fell on the medicines on the table.
'Come to think of it, I never asked why she takes so many medicines.'
Elijah sneakily took one of them and read its description.
Though he couldn't understand what it was for, a name quickly took his attention.
The brand of the company.
"House Atretic?" He mumbled aloud, taking her attention.
"What are you doing?" She asked, glancing back at him.
"It's in your medicine." He replied. "Who are they anyway?"
"Oh, they are the biggest pharmaceutical company in Kandam." She replied, her voice soft. "You can say, they have monopoly of everything related to hospital and medicine."
"A big shot, huh?" Elijah muttered, lowering the tablets. "What's so special about them?"
"They're... complicated," she said, settling near the chair across from him.
"House Atretic isn't just a company. They're a family too, one of the oldest in Kandam."
"Are they really that strong?" he asked, looking at her.
"They have two demigods, I believe." She replied, her voice thoughtful. "And they also have a good relationship with the church."
"..I see." Elijah mumbled, looking away from her. "I have been thinking, mother…."
"Hmm?"
Elijah hesitated before he said. "I want to go back to Akasha."
She smiled teasingly. "Missing your girlfriend already?"
"I..It's not that." Elijah said, though his face told another story. "I want to meet Wilhelm."
Her face turned serious as she looked at him.
"You aren't thinking of joining the war, right?"
"What, no." Elijah shook his head. "I mean, I did plan to if Himmel was…"
Poney raised an eyebrow. "If Himmel was what?"
Elijah paused, his fingers tapping the edge of the table. "If he had joined… then yeah, I might have too."
She floated a little closer, her eyes watching him carefully. "And now?"
"I don't know," he said honestly. "He's not there. I haven't heard anything from him or the others. It's like he vanished."
Poney sighed, her expression softening. "He's probably staying low for a reason."
Elijah nodded softly, rubbing his head. "Yeah…"
"So, when are you leaving?" She asked, her smile returning, though it was a little strained this time.
Elijah smiled. "Tomorrow."

[Nosferatu Kingdom]
[The home of Vampires.]
[Lumina.]
In the dull grey corridor of the beautiful mansion, a young man walked quietly.
He wore a grey shirt with his sleeves rolled up and black pants.
His raven-black hair tied on his side.
"Tch, I still can't do it." Oliver grumbled, rubbing his chin. "Why is it so hard?"
[≤You think it's easy to use simple kingdom?≥]
"I mean, I am trying for four months now." Oliver said, standing beside the window. "Why can't I make it."
[≤You need time.≥]
"I am doing the same thing for a month." Oliver grumbled, leaning on the window. "Yet I get no results."
Outside the window, the grey sky cast a dim light over the sharp rooftops of the Nosferatu Kingdom.
Oliver exhaled, watching a pair of birds fly past. "I swear, if Azariah pulls it off before me, I'm gonna throw him into a wall."
[≤Pretty sure, he should already be far ahead of you.≥]
"….Fuck," Oliver muttered, turning from the window. "Does he already have his kingdom?"
[≤I don't think so.≥]
"Hmm?" Oliver noticed the hesitation in Lilith's voice. "Why do you say so?"
[≤If he had done so, the world wouldn't have been so quiet and you couldn't pretend to be Aimar.≥]
"...."
Oliver let out a sigh as he raised his hand and crossed his fingers.
"Simple Kingdom."
The world twisted around him, trying to form something, but it vanished in an instant.
"Tch."
Oliver clicked his tongue before he walked back toward the training ground.
It's been six months and Oliver is stuck without any progress.
Even though he is close to reaching peak Overlord, he still hasn't learned the basics of kingdoms.
'Lilith said those who can make simple kingdom are only a few steps away from forming a real kingdom.'
Simple Kingdom also has its own uses, like being immune to other people's kingdom even if you are inside.
A normal person's kingdom is only around thirty metres, and a simple kingdom around one.
There has been no case in which someone has a simple kingdom bigger than anyone else's entire Kingdom.
But…
Oliver couldn't do it. "Why is it so hard?"
His grumbling voice made a projection of his brother form beside him.
"Having fun, bitch?" Aimar asked, eating an apple. "Must be nice, living my life."
"Fuck off." Oliver said, flipping a finger at him. "And how the fuck can you project yourself without my permission."
"I learned a thing or two." Aimar replied as they entered the training room.
As soon as they did, their eyes fell on the twin Vampire princesses.
Yuvia and Valessia.
Yuvia, the elder twin, wore a tight black tunic and long gloves.
Her black-grey hair was tied in a neat braid down her back, and her crimson eyes were sharp and cold.
Beside her, Valessia stretched casually, dressed in loose grey robes with her hair falling freely over her shoulders.
The moment Oliver entered, both twins stopped what they were doing.
"Took you long enough," Yuvia said, cracking her knuckles. "I thought you gave up on training."
Valessia gave a lazy smile. "Two versus one again?"
"…Yeah." Oliver said, shrugging. "Let me change first."
"Hey, Aimar." Yuvia said, making him stop. "I talked with father yesterday… about your request."
Oliver looked at her, holding his breath. "And?"
"Congratulations." She smiled. "We have a new general in our army."
Oliver smiled back as his shoulders relaxed. "Thank you for recommending me."
"It was nothing." She replied, looking away. "Go get ready now."
Oliver walked to the side of the training hall where a small cabin was for changing.
A general.
He'd finally gotten the position he asked for. After months of pretending to be Aimar, hiding under that identity.
Fighting vampires, earning their respect, and biting back his frustration—it was paying off.
"It was a good idea to seduce Yuvia."
[≤It was not.≥]
"It was not, you son of a bitch." Aimar snapped, glaring at him. "You are using my identity, fucker."
"So, what?" Oliver scoffed. "I haven't touched her nor do I plan to… I only need one wife and I already have her."
[≤Aww. I love you too.≥]
"You are ruining my life, fucker!" Aimar barked, trying to choke him. "They think it's me who is seducing them after getting their younger sister."
"Alright, no need to thank me." Oliver said, slapping his hands away. "God, I hope you die from snu snu."
Aimar gritted his teeth, rubbing his temples like he was nursing a migraine.
"I swear to the gods, the moment I get my body back, I'm punching you—."
"Shut up, weak-ass bitch." Oliver grunted, smiling. "I would fuck you raw, no lube."
[≤….Sometimes I really can't believe you are related to Adam.≥]
'Oh, how was he?'
Oliver asked, ignoring the fuming Aimar.
[≤Hmm, he was a lot more religious and polite.≥]
'I am polite.'
[≤Do you hear yourself?≥]
'Alright, so what was so great about him?'
[≤Well, he was carrying the whole of humanity on his back once.≥]
'…I see.'
Humans, since the start of their world, were always weak.
Oliver couldn't even count how many times they had been close to extinction.
'And how many times Adam has saved their ass.'
Even when he died at the hands of Samyaza… it was for humanity.
Oliver does respect the man, but he would never be like him.
…Never.
[≤Olive—!≥]
Lilith's voice felt distant as Oliver's entire body screamed danger.
Before he could even move, a hand was on his neck like a dagger.
"One more step and I am going to touch you."
Oliver immediately relaxed as he heard the voice.
'How strong has this fucker become?'
"The fuck you want?"
Oliver said, turning around.
"Azariah?"
