Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Envoys' Arrival: Witnessing the Impossible
Kaito was watching the monitoring window, observing the carriages he had sent to the border of NeoNexus to bring the envoys. At first, the envoys hesitated to board the carriages, unsure of their safety. However, after some discussion, they decided to step in.
Kaito could have easily teleported them, but he wanted them to witness the marvels of NeoNexus firsthand. As the carriages began moving, murmurs filled the air inside.
One envoy curiously asked, "How do these carriages move without horses? Is this some kind of artifact?"
Another envoy from a different nation responded, "If they are using such artifacts for simple transportation, then they must possess even more advanced technology."
"Shh!" another envoy hushed them. "Remember, we are here to assess this nation and its ruler. A few days ago, there was no sign of this land or any effort to establish a new country. Now, it stands before us as a fully developed territory."
Similar discussions took place in the other carriages. However, inside one of them, King Eldoria himself sat among his representatives. His presence alone astonished the other envoys, as it was rare for a ruling king to act as an envoy.
As the carriages entered the outskirts of NeoNexus, the envoys stared in disbelief. The well-planned towns, the advanced infrastructure, and the sheer scale of development left them in awe.
"This place is unbelievable... Everything looks newly built, yet it's as if it has stood for years. How was all of this done in mere days?" one envoy remarked.
As they traveled further, they passed vast farmlands, where they saw strange floating objects and humanoid figures tending to the crops.
"Are those... golems?" another envoy asked in shock.
"Indeed, but there are so many! A mage can typically control only one golem at a time, yet there are at least fifty here," another replied. "How many mages does this nation possess?"
As the carriages approached the heart of NeoNexus, the grand castle in the center became visible. Its design and construction left everyone speechless.
"To build such a magnificent structure in days... it's simply impossible," a noble whispered.
Finally, the carriages arrived at their destination. A total of eleven nations had sent their envoys, while five others had refused to participate. Kaito had already instructed Nova to monitor those absent nations closely.
As the envoys stepped out, they were greeted by humanoid robots. Their murmurs continued.
"More golems? No, these seem... different."
"Indeed, are these truly constructs? Or something beyond our understanding?"
The envoys were guided to the grand meeting hall, where more robotic servants served meals, snacks, and tea. Soon after, Kaito entered the room, accompanied by Althea, Amelia, and Lilia. Unlike the formal attire of the envoys, Kaito wore his usual casual outfit—jeans, an unzipped hoodie, and a blue t-shirt. He casually sat down beside them.
The first to introduce themselves was the envoy from Eldoria. "This is King Eldoria himself, accompanied by his advisors," he declared, shocking the other envoys.
"A king serving as an envoy... How significant does he consider this meeting?" one noble muttered.
One by one, the other envoys introduced themselves. Among them were nobles, high-ranking officials, and even a few princes representing their nations.
Once the introductions were completed, Kaito finally spoke. "I welcome all of you to NeoNexus. I hope this meeting will be fruitful for us all."
Before he could continue, a noble, who appeared only slightly older than Kaito, scoffed and spoke up. "Are you joking with us right now, kid? Do you expect us to believe that you rule this nation?"
Kaito remained calm and gestured for the man to sit down. "I understand your doubts, so I'll give you all the chance to ask any questions you have. Take your time. I'll answer them all."
Silence filled the room for a moment as the envoys exchanged glances, realizing that this meeting was going to be much more interesting than they had anticipated.
